This is not an Official Ikaruga thread just a quick Character breakdown of how she is now in Burst.
Ikaruga was one of the most technical charaters in the first game because her moves were so dependent on frames in a game with frame drops everywhere so you can see how this would be a problem. Thankfully with an improved frame rate and an easier to use Ikaruga many things have changed but has all of them been for the good?
Yin mode/ non turnover form.
In this form she is very similar to her old yin self in portrat but with the improved frame rate. Alot of her moves like 1 frame cancel moves are way easier to do. For example her X>A>X>A and so on is much easier with the smoother frame rate and is far more consistant. this can also be done in the air our you can swap out X for the Y attack when on the ground. Her basic ground YYY combo is quick and to the point and in many ways is far better then all her later ground combo strings in all other forms. Her Yin forms are her fastest forms so the majority of moves and tech that work her will not carry over to other forms.
Yin mode/ Turn over
In her transformed state she gets the use of her Ninpou's as well as more of her moves. The good thing about this form is you are givin the use of her new air Ninpou which is a huge plus for her as it gives advantage on hit as well cause dizzy on enemies and can take out a group of enimies all with out breaking combo somthing her other Ninpous fail to do. The one bad thing about this form is the over complicated string system. alot of the moves this time around seem kinda usless and with out much of the manual combos of the first game iit feels like you are forced to play with her a certain way and that becames clear in her other forms.
Senran Mode/ secret unlocked art.
Im going to jump in to the senran mode as the game is set up in difficulty by these mode and senran once unlocked would be normal mode.
In senran mode you can use all your attacks but Ninpou un transformed the trade off is you take normal hit stun so now in this game any hit will put you in hit stun or even daze you the reason this is important for Ikaruga because in this mode she is slower and her ability to get the enemy off the ground and in the air is much harder so you will have to try and get in the new dive attack and any launchers as well as limit breaks as you can. The up side to this mode is you can abust the air combo system as well as her air Ninpou since it charges much faster. Her mornal strings are again very crappy and way too long and you are likely to get hit before you finish any of the longer ones.
Yang mode/ Bikini form
In this form you are extremely at risk of dying quick and you have a limited limiit break so its best to always try to be in a diving state, dashing, performing Ninpou or limit break. Ikaruga is way to slow to last on the ground even for a quick lanucher so in this form her gameplan should always be about movment much like in Senran mode just on a higher level.
