Homura black or Homura red it's still Homura and here I talk about the raven haired girl and her blades of fury.
Homura is a simple is more kind of character she really does not expand well as far as tech and moves go and the more she attacks the wilder her attacks can become and are kind of hard to control I guess they are trying to say she is angry I don't know but its not good for me when Im playing.
Yin mode / non turnover form
In this for Homura is good her strings are short and movment is quick when Y attack canceling. She has one of the damaging dive attacks in the game since it hits more then any others. While her X attack attacks both ground and air leave much to be desired she is still ok and not hurt to bad because most of her incounters shoud be short and sweet. In this form Homura and the player is controlled by her limits its best to play this from and learn how to do without when using her because's its the best way to play her and thats because of her other forms.
Yin mode / turnover transformed
When Homura transformed its the biggest lie in the game. You are told you visualy have better and more moves like the other characters and you don't you have more but they are not better you told visualy again you have ninpou and again this is a lie as you are only givin one great ninpou and one worthless excuse for a ninpou and another that very situatonal. The reason why this form is bad is because of the extra moves most players will think they are playing a better character but she is harder to use because she is slower. she does not have alot of attack options outsider of her Y attack canceling and double dashing and when you go in to long combos not only is the combo not that long but it just waste to much time. Her basic YYXAX is all you need because that will save you the most time with auto combo's. since all her new moves are just sword slashs outsider her rush move nothing can be used for anything. The rush attack mentioned is good for hitting enemies on the ground and in front at the same time.
Homura's First Ninpou is great and when powered up does a ton of dammage abd over several slashs that you control across the stage so you can chase down enemies and bosses with no worry lol. Her other ninpou on the hand are something else. One is a very specific move where for it to be multi hiting the enemy has to be on the ground and you above them so basicly if they just fell and bounced once thats when you want to use it for max combos. the other is a worthless 2 bar ninpou where she pushes enemies away spining around no multi hit no range all bad for 2 bars. Thats why when playing Homura you can't get cought up in her new stuff because her old stuff is better. Somthing I forgot to talk about was her ability to double dash. Homura for some reason has a shorter dash then most and can do alot of double dashing because she is still in the air from the first one and because of the short range. Now there is a way to abuse this with her for manly combos since she can move extremely fast at a short distace enemies length so you can always keep a good combo going. Like I said this is more a flashy thing and does no real big damage but can help later on when you need to get away from the action.
Senran mode / secret are unlock
It does not get any easier from this way out with less stamina and hit stun and the threat not now dizzy status that your enemy can now cause Homura has to stay fast and light on her feet. Homura's new moves again does nothing to change her gamplay for the better but its the system change that works for her now, In this form homura can freely throw out limit break attacks and hers is one of the fastest yet covers more range then most of the snake girls making it a good new tool for her plus the limit burst fuels her meter and that can be used any time on her level 1 ninpou. The addition of the limit break makes this form not so bad but the lack of dashing abilty really stings at some parts.
Yang mode / bikini form
Easily her hardest form an maybe why now I see alot of japanese are putting her in dead last when it comes to ranks has to be this form. I did not put much thought in to this but Mirai has range even though she is weak and can hold enemies back when she needs to stand her ground Homura has to get in there and mix it up and like I said before she has no gimmicks to use so this will be harder with nurfed dash nurfed limit break nurfed health and hit stun. That just leaves you with her dive attack and her YYX into air combo and ender. You can still user her Y cancel attack of course but there is just nothing new there to help in your fight besides the extra power. Even as weak as Mirai is she now has the ability of controlled shooting to keep enemies away.
Like I started off I think Homura is best played when keeping things simple and not getting into her other stuff because there is not much there and most of her tools are givin to you earky on outside her first ninpou which surprisingly is on of the strongest when leveled up.
Im sad for both Homura and Katsuragi
