why? i'd rather see the girls from the game animated instead of some filler characters.

Because if it does not follow the main story they can add as many characters and make it as crazy as they want.

yeah but I doubt the designs they'd come up with would be as good as the ones in the games so hopefully even if they did create filler chars they wouldn't take the place of the "canon" girls. I just want to see all the girls animated.

I liked the series from beginning to end, the girls were cute, the plot was good, and the humor fit my tastes.

A pretty great final episode. Great animation, action, and character interaction. My only complaint would be that the "friendship conquers all" ending felt a little cheesy considering how serious the build-up was. Also, a short but sweet Rin vs. Daidouji fight would've been great.
Overall, the anime was pretty great. If the series had started off by developing both the Hanzou and Hebijou in the same strong fashion as the latter episodes did, then the series could've have been much better. Regardless, everything about this anime episode 5 and on was great. I hope there's a second season; hopefully, based on Shinovi Versus.

For me the anime was great, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted if a bit rushed. Last episode was my favorite easily with some well orchestrated action. The feeling of Homura's rage saying "Dougen!" was intense.
Overall I give it a thumbs up and hope we get more.

Just finished watching the anime and I must say it was quite good. Animation quality was excellent and the fight scenes were very good. I agree about the ending being meh, but then again I've never played the original games on 3DS so I wouldn't know how it compares. Is the story of the anime supposed to be based on the original game? Or is it like the Neptunia anime which was partly original, and partly based on the game? Anyway, I wouldn't mind to see a 2nd season based on Shinovi Versus. I have no idea what's going on in SV's story as I just skip through all the cutscenes because I can't understand a lick of Japanese XD

12 episodes is never enough for an anime. I don't know why they limit some to 12 but it's just not enough time to backstory down, Epic fights, and an overall plot all in one.
I hope for a season 2 because i really want to know what was going on with Yagyuu's eye (i don't think it was ever explained?)
But mirai's eyepatch is just for show i know that much........maybe i overlooked that one but who knows? WE NEED MOAR!!!!!!
Overall i loved it though. It was great fun to watch and kept my interest throughout.
