For about 3 years, I've been working on plans for a webcomic, and earlier this year I finally got started on it. It's only about 15 pages in right now, but I already have the full story planned (if I were to go at a rate of 3-5 pages a week, it will take 30 years to finish ^^ , and I try to draw whenever I have free time. Which isn't often. My art still isn't where I want it to be yet, but just scrolling through the stuff I've drawn this year I think you can see me making obvious improvements, and I hope to keep getting better - I'm even taking a drawing class this semester. And it's definitely gotten much better looking since I stopped trying to color it and got a friend to do that part. xD All my drawings, as well as my webcomic, Flower Garden 2/3, can be seen at my DeviantART, redherochild.deviantart.com . (Be warned, don't look at the old stuff. It's just terrible terrible drawings and horribly written fanfics I wish I could forget )

New short comic in progress, going for a sort of horror story. Three pages are currently up, this is page 1: Also, the latest page of my main webcomic, Flower Garden 2/3 (which won't make much sense without reading the others. )

I saw in the chat that you wanted feedback and advice, so I'll give it to you. But I'm going to be brutally honest, so if you dont wanna read it, I'd advise that you stop here. {Spoiler}You need to learn a lot. Might not wanna worry too much about coloring till you can get solid lineart and shading down. You need to understand the human body more, unless you intended for them to look this way. There's an old drawing book by Andrew Loomis you should pick up if you can. And yeah, while you have a ton to learn and work on, dont let it discourage. Let it be your motivation. Strive for beautiful work and the feeling you'll have when you look back at past pieces in comparison to what you'll have then. Also your use of shadows is a bit nice, as is the wrinkles and such on the cloak. Same goes for the cobblestone.

I actually am not the one that does the coloring, I have a friend who likes to color. Otherwise it'd be black and white. ^^;
I do intend for them to look very cartoony, though. I am definitely not going for a realistic look. Shadows are new for me, I'm just learning them, so I hope that getting better at that will result in an overall improvement. Right now I'm practicing different "angles" and shadows, and working on getting proportions worked out a little better.

Thats fine, you dont need a realistic look. I mean, look at Homestuck. The art is horrible and its very popular. But learning the basics still helps even a cartoon styled artist do much better than before, if only because they learn how to distort things.

I wish you the best of luck. Hope it doesn't really take 30 years for you to finish.

Thanks. Though, at the rate I'm going, it'll definitely take a long time.

Well, its certainly better. I'll give you some solid advice. Learn to draw the human figure. That is the most important thing. You don't simply learn to draw cartoon style, you learn realism. When you do that, distorting and draw anime-styles, western cartoon styles, etc becomes a lot simpler. You've got a very loose concept of the human figure, with anatomy and what not being very off. Lack of shading isn't helping. Bits of hair dont form straight up triangles. I assume you're doing this all on MS Paint though.
But that is the absolute best thing you can do for yourself. Grab pencils, paper, go buy some HB pencils and a sketchbook even. Learn to draw realism. I would highly recommend you download Andrew Loomis' drawing instruction books. They're very classic books, and a great way to learn. When you've learned a fair bit, considering picking up a cheap drawing tablet for yourself.

I've been practicing a bit more, here's the latest effort. (still need to work on torsos a bit) Also, when you say a cheap tablet, is there any brand you'd recommend?

Not much of an art expert, but I can definitely tell that you're improving. Keep it up.
