wow this thread exploded with sales talk if there are any lurkers now is the time to say something and be heard. what about you? You were pretty clear about what you thought of SK2s sales. I do believe that the most plausible path for the series will be PS4/vita as it goes on. I've played the PS4 version. It's so smooth and the stages look great. of course but that is due to 60 fps not sales 3ds may get a music game that's it. sales and dlc is too strong in Sonys favor.

Sales don't automatically determines the faith of a series. It all depends on the producer and what he/she thinks he/she should do with the series. As long as Takaki is satisfied with the sales on both handhelds/consoles, I really don't think he'll ditch the 3DS just like that. Not to mention doing so will alienate some peeps that doesn't want or can't move to the Sony side just to play this series.
In the end, it's all about thinking long terms in regards to fans and keeping sales stable enough overall. Not to mention knowing when to release a game that's going up against bigger and more well known titles. Just look at Disgaea 5. That didn't do too well than it should due to being up against games like Bloodborne.
The whole reason why EV did well overall was not only due to good advertisement, but because the game was more accessible to more people since it was released for both Vita and PS4.
So, the point is, lets wait and see what Takaki will do next with the series. I personally want this series to be more accessible to more people, not just from people on the Sony side. If it started by releasing the beat em up games for Nintendo and the musou esque (not full fledged musou) games for Sony, I'd say continue. It wouldn't be right to just cut off a portion of the fanbase now due to sales when comparing the two types of SK games.
Wow, didn't mean to make this a long post, but I had a lot to say on this matter.
And FYI: games like dekamori SK could be released on both Nintendo and Sony, not just Sony.

Outside of an OVA, I dont think EV was more advertised than SK2. SK2 got the same treatment really.

The OVA gave EV way more exposure.
And you're forgetting that EV was also a sponsor for a female wrestling event a few weeks ago.

EV already made most of its week one sales by the time the OVA aired. I sincerely doubt that and some obscure wrestling event are just going to plop 30k more sales but whatever.

Vita runs at 30 fps and experiences dips at certain points (usually when you're versing 2+ shinobi and there are a bunch of enemies and projectiles flying around). Still holds up very well especially since gameplay is essentially the same as PS4 and character models and massive environments are identical (with the PS4 obviously having better graphics and effects). Unfortunately 3DS holds series back as it can neither deliver framerate nor graphics.

SK2 has a stable framerate though and quick loading times. They put a lot of money into it and you can tell. The problem that happened with it is that it removes fanservice present in SV while also many thought the models were downgraded a lot. They announced EV right when SK2 was announced which probably hurt it a lot.

You know? That's a possible factor.

You know? That's a possible factor. it was always the factor people just did not want to admit it.

I still think that is a massively stupid reason. The only thing they said was tha Estival existed, no release date, no footage, no platforms, no concept art, no NOTHING.
Is like letting past Batman V Superman because the JL movie will come at some point on 2018

Truthfully I don't know much about SK2 and was not planning on touching it after Burst left such a bad taste in my mouth. The models and graphics overall look worse compared to SV which is not good for a game that goes for a 3D anime look and can easily look bad visually. I also don't understand why the main series continues to ignore the other schools. But if you say 2 is good I might consider getting it (after I get my fill with EV that is). XD
