So this is a...much more retooled version of several threads I did back on SIA. To avoid countless clutter and annoying the mods; I'd figure a thread compiling all of my stuff that I make and such is much more...effective? Speaking of which, I'm retooling this thread. Because whyyyyy not. Anyway, I'm a writer as many as you guys can see, and even though I infidently postponed a western graphic novel, I am focusing on one project that piques my interest regardless: Animated. Some of you heard of it (cough@esarecough), but most didn't. Well, you're about to! Animated is a manga or graphic novel thing that I have huge hopes for (in the TV area I mean). A comedy-drama, it takes place in a world where humans coexist with cartoons and anime, Animated focuses on 3 characters living in Colorado - a cynical british cartoon and two anime students who are close friends. While they have their own personalities and such, sometimes they seem tied to one another in some form or another. And there's an extensive lore as well; which covers geopolitics, culture and fictious issues. Animated is quite unique: despite the mention of lots of famous guest characters from The Simpsons to Senran Kagura (gotta please SIA so***ow), Animated is staunchly realistic, and to avoid one-sided personalities, diverse emotions are added for each and every character, as well as positive and negative qualities of said character, to make them more human. Evil characters are given some positive perks, yet most of the characters, despite some of their personality traits are either sympathetic, altruistic, loyal. Real world issues do affect the characters; and sometimes actual news reports benefit some of the stories. Negative stereotypes are avoided for races, religions, sexual preference and gender (personally, I think they overstayed their welcome in most comedies) to show more humanity to many of the characters as well. Though Animated is explicit as hell (constant swearing, graphic sexual activity and nudity, gory cartoon violence, drug usage), it does have a heart underneath the coarse shell it can pack at times. Anyway, here's a Mediafire link that collects some of the stuff on Animated that's updated after I do something. Of course, I'll post other stuff here too than just Animated, so yeah.

So I'm going to show muh characters for my project...the main ones. I'll share the rest later.
JASON KASSINGER
STATS
Height: 181cm (5'11) Weight: 103lb Blood Type: A Birth Date: March 27th Hobbies: Friends, family, drawing, reading, video games
APPEARANCE
Jason has dark brown hair, red eyes and glasses. He's tall and has a thin build, and has some stubble and minor acne on his cheeks.
DESCRIPTION
Lead male anime. Jason is a young university student who is pursuing a career in painting and drawing. Jason is timid, mild mannered, a little shy and gullible but generally sweet and sometimes highly intelligent person. He stays out of certain bubbles (politics, religion) and focuses on what's best for him in life. He never gets angry, save for some moments and tries to be optimistic, even when he's feeling down.
MAYA ZOE
STATS
Height: 167cm (5'7) Weight: 121lb Bust: 96cm (37') Cup: 66.7G Waist: 57cm (21'') Hips: 88cm (35'') Blood Type: B Birth Date: June 3rd Hobbies: Cooking, video games, sports
APPEARANCE
Maya has long dark purple hair and green eyes, and some very mild acne on her cheeks. She has a moderately large bust.
DESCRIPTION
Lead female anime. Jason's roommate and childhood friend; Maya is somehow one of the more optimistic characters in Animated; often being bright and cheerful but serious and determined when the time calls. She's got great independence and strives for her dreams to become a culinary artist. She shows great sympathy, loyalty and care for her friends and family, refusing to back away from them no matter what. She also has a large bust that she's aware of and sometimes jokes about.
PHILLY DENCHEV
Height: 149cm (4'10) Weight: 131lb Blood Type: O Birth Date: April 17th Hobbies: Being a cynical asshole
APPEARANCE
A tiny little cartoon, Philly has red hair and brown eyes, blemishes and wearing on his head and cheeks, and the ever present cigarette.
DESCRIPTION
Lead cartoon. The eldest lead character and the only foreign one (he's English); Philly's a producer for a sitcom titled "The Indies". Philly serves as the straight man and subversion to many of the more optimistic characters in Animated because of his extreme cynicism, discontempt and skepticism of society's advancements, the deliberately wrong justifications of either side on any issue; politics and conspiracy theories, religion, atheism among others. He's got a snarky mouth; and often makes fun of something he finds absurd much to his opponent's anger or contempt, and even rips sides apart brutally...well, figuratively for their stupidity. He packs a great detest for America; and often at times doesn't blame those that hate the country for being so shallow and broken. Of course; he's also one of the more sympathetic characters on the show as a whole; and shows a soft side at times underneath the cynical and skeptical nature he mostly has. For humorous purposes, he gets along with everyone (even those with very malicious motives) in some capacity.

Yeah, I'm making really cool characters here. Speaking of characters...Esare and I ended up making this main girl:
NAOMI KURZ
Height: 168cm (5'5) Weight: 113lb Bust: 88cm Cup: 38G Waist: 53cm (29'') Hips: 88cm (35'') Blood Type: A Birth Date: August 15th Hobbies: Having fun, being in private, video games, movies
APPEARANCE
She looks like a half-toon, half-anime mix with the face of Kill la Kill character Mako. She has long, messy black hair with red at the fringe, yellow eyes and a large chest.
DESCRIPTION
Naomi is a average toonime trying to get through. Being a new worker of the Animal Lanes, she tries to make a decent living serving drinks, food and talking to the customers. Naomi is very timid and quiet, but as she grows accustomed she shows good loyalty, friendliness and a cheerful attitude.

So there's a shitload more characters, and many of which are for each side from all 4 characters. I'll share some of the more recent ones:
DOVE ANDREA
APPEARANCE
An African-American human. She has black frilly hair and hazel eyes and a large chest. She wars a golden corset that serves as her higher level outfit.
DESCRIPTION
Andrea is the "den mom" of the girls, as she is in charge of the lanes. Andrea, despite hard working, is someone that deeply cares for the well being of her co-workers and is rather combative if someone threatens her or her crewmates or if someone behaves inappropriately. Naomi affectionately calls her "Aunty" for short.
SAPPHIRE
APPEARANCE
A toon woman that resembles Samus in some form, she has blue hair made into a short ponytail and yellow eyes, as well as a large chest. She wears s short leather coat that ends at the waist, covering her blue bunny outfit and wearing big black boots.
DESCRIPTION
Sapphire is the bartender and the first friend Naomi makes. She is quite laid back, and is a generally friendly, intelligent and loyal person, yet takes no shit and has a comically overpowered punch used to send those careening away from touching her.
MEGANE
APPEARANCE
An anime woman, she has medium-long white hair, purple eyes, large chest and black glasses. She wears a white cat outfit with a garterbelt inside.
DESCRIPTION
Megane is the restaurant manager. She's very intelligent, strict and bossy, as well as being easily stressed from working. However, she also shows deep sympathy and friendliness when out of work.
NOIRE EDELWEISS AND ROSADA KUSOMOSU
APPEARANCE
Noire is a toon while Rosada is a "toonime" - while both are equally busty, Noire has black hair, contacts with her right eye being purple and left eye being black and Rosada has pink hair and blue eyes. Noire wears a black cat suit with a purple scarf around her neck while Rosada wears a pink fox suit with a Kusomosu flower in her hair.
DESCRIPTION
The workers at Animal Lanes, Noire and Rosada are the first friends Naomi makes. Being friends since kids, Noire made friends with Rosada since she was a target of bullying for her wealthy family and mixed heritage. Rosada is mainly cheerful most of the time, but when alone gets insecure and scared due to her past of being bullied, but when with Noire is with her she is open and confident. Noire is stoic and keeps Rosada in check but deeply cares for her well being, as well as Naomi.
ANGELICA
APPEARANCE
An anime, she has poofy blonde hair with drills as curls, red eyes and the largest bust in the Animal Lanes (breast implants). She wears a silver bunny outfit.
DESCRIPTION
Angelica is an antagonist for the Animal Lanes - despite being called "Angel" by her coworkers, in contrast she's arrogant, whiny, selfish and entitled, wanting to have the spotlight cast on her. She tries to make Naomi's work life a living hell, creating tension for the workplace.

Finished the first drafts of the stories and gonna wait for a bit until I fix them (school started for me). Then once I get an illustrator interested in the project, I can work on the second part.

Huh, it's interesting to see but it is hard tomproperly assess the characters. You've got some interesting characters here and there, but it feels like there's two issues: 1. You made sure to try and keep them very human, and you elaborate little on a backstory. This means that on paper, they come off as quite same-ish (which of course does make them all very human), and their described personalities will really show in the exact situations you put them in. Regardless, I get quite the Seth McFarlane feeling from this. 2. There's SO many! That can be great for versatility but remember your readers/viewers are not the ceators of the characters, nor have they read the descriptions, and as such need to get familiar with each and every one of them from scratch. Think well about the number of characters and the extent to which you want them to play a role. But so far it looks pretty good! Getting overall a Family Guy-like feel from it, which coincidentally isnonenof my favourite American cartoons!

Thanks for the critique! Though, I may want to clear some things up: 1. Most of the characters being "same-ish" is because of making Animated, well, a lot more realistic. Sure, there's some ludicrous characters and stuff because it's something about cartoons and anime, so anything goofy and over the top is granted, though most of the major characters are designed to be people you could easily meet on a street, a restaurant, at work, etc. It's also noted that most of the characters are pretty friendly and sympathetic - something you never see in most adult cartoons, though it does add to the realistic feel. 2. The main characters follow different stories, hence the many characters. One side has it's specific set and so does the other. It allows to tell multiple stories and events through any character's eyes, and often when something major happens - each character will react differently based on their perspective. Admittedly, I think the comparison between this and Family Guy...ehhh...not sure. I kinda thing both are radically different. Family Guy is carefree, over the top and goofy with rarely any serious stuff, Animated is more serious and such but there's still comedy in it. Hell, I guess you could squeeze in South Park as a comparison due to how both Animated and the latter take place in Colorado.

1. That's what I said yeah, it makes them realistic, which can make for a good show but also makes it tough for me to comment on and the true quality of the characters will show better in an actual script-like thing They feel for now like they could be everyday people but that's a double edged sword of course: less realistic characters make for more fun situations (after all, we watch stuff to see something different than our regular life, even if it comes close setting wise). So again it mostly will depend on the script! Any chance we'll get to read something? 2. I get that and that too will become a positive or negative aspect dependent on the stories these characters will go through. And yeah the family guy comparison may say more about my frame of reference than your work xD
