Nah. There has to be way to keep the mini-backgrounds. The only way would be to make backgrounds longer to fit the miniprofiles as someone gets badges and I dunno but it just sounds like it could be a lot to do as far as how many people could get badges, how many use the backgrounds instead of the average avatars..

Yeah but the thing is you also have to edit to width of the miniprofiles too if I remember correctly and also the margin of posts so that text doesn't end up covering the profiles. You'd have to google it to find the 2 or 3 exact lines of code that would need to be adjusted. ~ I decided to give it a quick inspection using the browser and saw where it seems it need to be changed. I'll need more time to study it to discover somethings and I'll try making a little research latter. It seems a bit complicated, but it can be done. And the backgrounds would only work if we added something like a "auto-watermark" to the code to make the backgrounds don't simply fight for space with the rest of the text on the avatar bubble.

When I was new to it it really seemed intimidating and I was a bit nervous but it's really not super complicated. You just have to look in the right spots and things should work out well. I know the specific areas that would be edited are all number values and they have to be changed together by a certain amount or so. ~

I don't really know what to make of this. I never actually figured out how to make a mini profile, so I can't say I'll miss. On the other hand, I'm interested in the badge. I can't say I'll collect a whole lot, though.

If even Joseph Joestar, himself, agrees with the badge system then we should just stop all of this and go with the badges.

Kind of a bummer that we'd lose profile background images, but having badges sounds pretty neat, and if we could get larger avatars as a alternative to profile background images, like VITZ said, then I'd be all for it.

Well besides editing the code I forgot one last detail about the larger avatars: you'd need to use an image url instead of a direct upload here.
Images uploaded directly are made 150x150 as the host default and are resized. To bypass that it's kind the same with the backgrounds, upload your picture to imgur, get the url, and instead of a direct upload there's a place to put that link.
Just wanted to get that bit in so my apologies. ~

Aww, I guess my lovely gif is gonna go. But progress is never a bad thing. So I'm for the badges.

I like the idea of the badges (mostly due to the contests they might be related to, a forum I used to frequent also had badges and I never got much more than the ones for posting and that just made me sad XD), but I also like the idea of the mini profile backgrounds... I generally visit the forum via the Tapatalk app though, so I don't generally see them anyway. Went with option 1 Edit: Bigger avatars in return would be nice though! Edit2: On that same forum, they had badges like a 'cuteness badge' or a 'nekomimi badge', which you would be awarded with by opening a thread to request it with a poll, and having a certain amount of people voting yes, with a limit to the amount of people that voted no. This never seemed like a fun system to me, and made all these badges feel very much like a popularity contest regardless of their contents. And as for some fun suggestions for badges: Collector's Edition Badge: show to have such and such amounts of merchandise of Senran Kagura, probably better specified more precisely. Daredevil Badge: show to have played a Senran Kagura (perhaps restrict it to Vita, since they're more ecchi) in public. Both of these of course come with a 'pics or it didn't happen' policy. I think these can be fun ways for people of the forum to in one way show something of themselves (no need for yourself to be in the picture, just, sharing a picture you made is already something of yourself), and at the same time participating in the forum. Other ideas include stuff like a 'having played Senran Kagura with the other sex'-type of thing, although of course these are all in a part of the spectrum of possible rewards for actual Senran Kagura dedication, rather than forum dedication. Either way, I can understand if people aren't charmed by those more 'real life' achievements, but I thought they might be a fun way to incorporate those thing into the forum.
