Many of you have been requesting new features on the board and I am happy to announce that two new member systems are being implemented: the Karma and Warning Systems. Essentially, the Karma System allows you to rate the posts of other users and their collective rating will appear in their profile. So if someone makes a post you like, giving them a positive rating is like a pat on the back. Conversely, if someone makes a post that you don’t like, you now have the ability to express that in a non-intrusive way. If you are familiar with the Reputation System on other message boards, this is the same idea.
The Warning System is similar, but is only usable by moderators. You all may have noticed a new bar on your profile that shows your “Warning Level.” Posts that are disruptive or break the rules will result in you being “warned”, which causes that level to increase. We will be experimenting with this system, but for now it is set so that your warning level is only visible to you and the moderators. I do not anticipate having to use this, but receiving a high warning level may result in the temporary suspension of your account.
I hope you all enjoy the Karma System and I hope that we don’t have to use the Warning System. Stay tuned for more features in the near future!

I still don't understand the Karma system. So if you build up alot of good points do you get anything? Is it the same as the like system where it shows the persons names under your comment?

The forum does not appear to have a feature that allows you to see who gave you Karma and for what post. I do plan to implement a system in the near future that will allow you to receive some kind of bonus for acquiring many points.

Great idea, and gave you "karma" for your post introducing karma.

Guess I will stick with the old fashion thank you. Seems it would do better if the person knows who is thanking them and for what, plus I forget to click the link anyway.
