Depression and Anxiety are usually met in the center as one. When you're not suffering from one, you are usually suffering with the other. I myself struggle with these disorders. There are usually a stigma that these things can just be stopped by doing stuff differently. I mean it is true to a small effect, you need a lot of mental training or medication to soften the blow from these. You can be having the time of your life- success, having nothing to worry about- but they will still linger. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain.
I have been really fighting depression for the last couple of months (and one of my lonely wanderings have led me to come here, which wasn't a mistake for a change). It leads me to not want to do anything, unless I have to do it. It may be things like hanging out with friends, drawing or playing video games. All I want to do is just lay around. "Go do something. You'll feel better." more like 'Oh, I am just gonna feel the same in a different place, you just don't wanna see me.' Can't sleep, don't have a sense of appetite. Don't even get me started on anxiety and the constant feeling of nausea and raised blood pressure and the feeling of concentration put into not dying or puking.
Life goes on and I always feel like it's leaving me behind by miles. I have no clue what to do anymore.

Welcome to my world mate. I deal with it VERY often especially after dealing with horrific events. Just know you're not the only one. We're a silent legion of what we're referred to.

I think most people here aren't native If people don't understand you, they'll ask. There's really no need to add the disclaimer to every post. Also, it may be hard to bring up the motivation, but sports help SO MUCH. Team sports if you're not socially anxious. I personally do a bit of exercise every day, once every two days a bit more, and try to have a walk outside every day as well (the new daily bonuses on Pokémon Go help out as incentive). In fact, the vitamin D your body naturally produces when in the sun helps against depression as well, so try to go outside! Hobbies can be great as well. I'm sure gaming is one, but a creative hobby can help as well. If you're like me, and you're really not that good, be cautious with sharing it online. People are assholes, even more so when they're insecure themselves so they pick on anyone they fee they can place below them (a beginner artist for example). I think reopening the channels for social contact (even if it's online) is a great step in itself. None of this is the magical cure. But it all certainly can help. Depending on the country you're in, it's free to pay your doctor a visit. So do that, talk about it, and with a bit of luck there's someone like a nurse specialised in psychological help there that you can visit for the same non-existent fee. Of course, I'm just talking from my Dutch frame of reference. In the end, getting out of a depression is all about moving forward, and you can't move forward without taking steps in at least one direction.

It depends of the phisycall activity The martials arts are not sports but they can help you to feel better, it deppends if you have a good master in a good academy, some martials arts academy are trash (sorry but it is the true, some academies are trash and only want make money, they dont help the pupils) but if you get a good master it can help you to solve feelings and problems like: depression, feel down, shy, feel scare, etc If you get be more stronger, you can feel better. Are you from Netherlands? Belgium?

Are you from Netherlands? Belgium? Netherlands Physical activity at all makes you release hormones that pretty much make you feel better, so physical activity in general is good. Again, lack of vitamin D has been linked to depression as well, so getting all the natural vitamin D you can is a good idea. Martial arts (just like any socially involved sport) can be great, as you can socialise, be active, and, indeed, see improvement, but it can also be a tough thing to get into when not feeling good. I personally have a frail build, and felt very out of place at the gym I visited once. And the macho culture around it wasn't motivating. It's all relative to who you are as a person of course.

TheAtom I dislike the gyms where you only work for to have alot of muscle like Arnold Swarzeneger. But there are academies of martials arts where you can do exersice, learn to fight, maybe learn to use arms. But not all academies are good, some academies of martial arts only want your money. It is a pleasant to know people from Netherlands . I didnt know you use the word macho too. I think you can drive bicycles easy there in Netherlands

I can understand that as I have felt similar quite frequently. The lack of motivation has been one of my biggest problems so far. Anyway, I can say this. This world is pretty vast. There are countless possibilities. Just keep exploring yourself. It isn't impossible to find the one thing you are able to put energy and enthusiasm into it. Think, but not excessively, and act. Chase your desires. Even if you fail, you can stand up again. Something isn't right for you? Then, try something else. Every end is a new beginning. I hope everything goes alright for you !!!!
