Well, I know here are other DOA fans who I don´t see in this topic but It´s good to see the series going strong. I´ve been playing DOA since the first game was out back in the days and got DOA1 after I got interested from the playable demo on PSX Magazine. I also got the DOA2 at PS2 but missed the DOA3 due to Xbox switch as I´ve always been a Playstation player. I had a break from the series before I returned to series with DOA4 (X360 - not my own one) and then with PS4 and DOA5. I am also familiar with Xtreme titles but somehow I am way more into fight titles. Then again, many girls seems to love the Xtreme titles way more.
My fave characters are Bayman and Helena but I also like about Lei Fang pretty much. Of course there are other fantastic characters too. Actually to me DOA is excellent because unlike on most fighters, you have to block to win, use well timed attacks and it doesn´t feel silly because it´s all about fist vs fist . This is one thing what driven me away from Tekken because everytime them just brought out more and more beasty characters, all kind of robots and after all it started to feel it´s more about tools than actual fighting.
What comes to DOA5 DLC, I find it stupid to be honest. As many fans has said, some costumes you pay for are same as with others but on different colours. Also season passes has been ridiculously over priced and I also understand the rage some people has went through due to different versions of DOA5. There are good DLC´s too and I understand them has to make the money somehow but still you often think that what is the reason what would get me to pay that.
Gameplay is solid through and especially with friends, it´s a damn fun game to play.

Haven't played DOA yet but I'm thinking of buying it these days. Since it is a Fighting game, I'm definitely gonna give it a go. I really like Ayane so far !!!!

Ayane is a good choice Theodos! She's a pretty difficult character to use tho.
If any of you want to play with me. My PSN ID is jjkbuenacruz.

With what little it has to offer in terms of gameplay, and how much it's focused on the women compared to gameplay? Sarcasm aside, the only thing I find interesting, other than how good the character models look, is the roulette, and only because around 2008 or 2010 I had the original DS with a Mario game that had a few gambling games on it (weird I know). And I might as well feed my non-existent gambling addiction with a game about the women . On the subject of different game versions though, I had to make sure to get Last Round, as I didn't want to have to purchase any of the DLC characters (I wanted to use Honoka), and despite not getting a new version of the game, the code for extra swimsuits worked (a pleasant surprise ). The season passes are ridiculous though, that's why I'll just be buying most things individually .

I have played Xtreme 2 as someone who was very important to me who I´ve since splitted up, used to love DOAX2 more than the fighting games. I also have DOA Paradise at the old PSP as it was 2.99€ at gamestop but I have hardly been playing it. It has some fun elements but I still like more about the fighting games By quite a margin. It´s not bad, it can be fun but gets the feeling I´ve seen this very very quickly. One thing from DOAX games through what I always been wondering about is what happened to Niki. I always hoped she would become playable on some point. At DOA5 you don´t see her anymore at all so I guess, she left.

I did wish DOAX3 had more to offer though, as one of the main reasons I like so much games/movies/books/anime is because I feel that every one of those things has one, small thing that is unique to it (wether it's the characters, the plot, gameplay or the art-style), and I want to be able to experience all of these things, no matter what's surrounding it (with a few exceptions), but DOAX3 doesn't have much to offer other than: good jiggle physics (something that Estival Versus also has, to an extent ) & really good character models (also featured in: some other games that I like). There may be a point in time when I will buy the game (after a way to get it become available to me.), but only after I've gotten nearly all of the other games I want.

Mai has been announced for DOA5LR!!! Anybody else incredibly hype? I don´t know if I am super hyped but it´s nice to see characters from other fight games making an appearance on DOA form. We will see how it works and if she is the only one but when you make deals like that, it´s obvious that DOA team isn´t doing too bad job. Fans on forums has felt a bit mixed through . Some loves Mai because well, it´s... Mai but there are also people who kinda feels it would be time for DOA5 to move on. Also I wouldn´t had minded so called mini stories for all these new characters, as it would been linking the charas more for DOA and we would had maybe knew a little bit more about them, than just the Basic info. Also as some has said, nothing against Mai and we all know DOA is probably a bit more popular because of it´s girls. I like girls but I also feel the balance has suffered a bit recently and for a while, it would be nice to see also a new male character.
