Haruka's voice actor going on hiatus at this time I think supports the prediction of now evil ninja in the next game along with what the 5th anniversary website has. And when I say next game I mean the next game. Not a bon appetit water gun thing. Assuming you typo'd and meant no evil ninja, as in no Crimson or Hebijo, thats REALLY interesting. I really wonder how that would pan out. I also really hope its not just "hey kids, have some Yumi." Cause I feel thats what it would be.

I know it's fun for some to hate Yumi but at least she's a bit more serious about being an actual ninja.

The immediate concept that pops into my head is more serious yoma hunting. And she is, but that doesnt make her all that great.

they are insane if they make it for a nintendo platform. SK2 proved that the 3Ds consumers are fickle and really have no loyalty towards the series. even Street Fighter fans buy the worst street fighter games. and while SK2 was bad for the most part, it still was a test to see how much the 3Ds appreciated the series on 3DS. apparently SK2 being the worst selling SK game, proves the series has to leave the crib and side with PS4 from now on, for the sake of superior production values on superior hardware and superior market. Estival PS4 version is clearly better than vita, and vita is holding the series back anyways, there's so much more they can do with PS4, and on the fastest growing market. (and Im surprised lately I read some PS4 boards how some topcis bring up the subject of Senran Kagura. it's really becoming a more household name ever since it came to PS4 internationally overall.) www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-04-28-sonys-psn-is-making-more-money-than-all-of-nintendoNX is overrated and overhyped, it's not revealed and not out, but nintendo culture and its mentally challenged leaders prevent mature games like Senran Kagura from receiving a solid fanbase on nintendo platforms. you saw how even Fatal Frame games didnt get the sales and popularity it deserved, the latest games better off being brought to PS4. plus nintendo is very greedy. it's easier to port a game from another platform to nintendo, but not vice versa. nintendo holds series like fatal frame hostage as we speak. anyways, whether spinoff or a hybrid side story/continuation of the plot, they seriously must be having ambitions for this new bold experiment. they can't afford to be making gimmick games that even the fanbase would lose interest in as quickly as the cooking game. perhaps with Estival online multiplayer, they are getting more confident in perhaps making the Call of Duty of Senran Kagura games. so maybe they might really make something outstanding, but it's hard to say. Considering the fact Estival's multiplayer can't be played online, modes that support bots......... it's madness to place any trust in these developers decision making. overall, if they are making a shooter, it's better to make a Senran Kagura shooter inspired by Star Wars Battlefront, instead of a Splatoon or COD inspired shooter. of course, they probably don't have the tech and resources to make a 20 ninjas vs 20 ninjas shooter game. but maybe they'll do something that doesn't feel like a $50 minigame. one things for sure, both the single player and multiplayer has to be loaded with content and customization, among other things. and the multiplayer modes should be playable offline with bots. though you know it's ironic, it seems Tamsoft as a whole is moving towards more shooter inspired games and moving away from hack n slash (like School Girl Zombie Hunter, the successor of Onechanbara, has potential to become its own flagship series, especially in the west where gun themed games are more popular). in a way that's good because the shooter genre is easier to pick up and play, has greater potential for multiplayer co op and PVP, and easier to balance. there reasons why the shooter genre is so mainstream popular ,and Senran Kagura could be the first all girls shooter series that could become mainstream, especially for shooter fans that want a different shooter franchise from the usual ones. though even with a shooter genre, it's possible to add ninja themed weapons to the mix, like throwing stars, kunai, bombs and other things. ah well, it's crazy there's about 4 to 6 more days before the actual first indepth look at the game is explained. sigh, well, it's gotta be something impressive. why else would they leave their bread and butter for something so outlandish and unexplored for the franchise? it's gotta be something epic.

oh boy guys another spinoff game woo boyyy
General consensus is that it's going to be a shooter, and I'm a bit wary. Japan has a pretty mixed history when it comes to shooters, I generally don't even like shooters in the first place, and I doubt that this game will do anything too unique (a unique shooter like Splatoon only comes around once every blue moon, let's be honest), all I'm sort of reading from this is gonna be just another solely fanservice-based game and little to nothing else. I mean, Estival was fun, but it had the weakest storyline (apart from Bon Appetit of course) of all the Senran games so far, at least in my opinion. It does make me fear a bit for the series as a whole kinda turning away from story in lieu of 'more fanservice', because that sort of stuff only stays fresh for so long before you're wondering what else is there to like about it. Estival at least gets a pass because the gameplay was good (i liked SK2's gameplay better as well but maybe i'm a liiiittle bit biased there). I just don't feel like a Senran Kagura shooter is the way to go.
A party game doesn't sound terrible, though. Maybe not as good as an ACTUAL Senran Kagura game, but it'd at least be something I can see having some fun with, if it's handled well. The story would be non-existent still, though, which is pretty unavoidable anyways, so who cares I guess.
I hope that the 'actual game, versus game, spin-off game' pattern still holds true, anyways, so that would at least mean that the NEXT game is SK3. Hopefully they don't mess that one up terribly. Or remove my favorite character (highly likely, even though I haven't actually seen much negative reception towards him).

Takaki and marvelous just arent that smart. So I wouldnt be surprised with whatever happens. The NX thing is a meme people are perpetuating for some reason I dont know.

As Poog said, a game with no evil ninja -could- be interesting... but then some people, such as me, would want a game with no good ninjas. Perhaps a pair of games like the paired Pokèmon games, with one focusing on good ninjas, and the other on evil ninjas, could be an interesting idea?

I think this game will probably take place in the Estival Versus timeline, seeing as Yagyu was wearing a swimsuit they may still be there within this game.

I really don't think it's a thing with 3DS owners being fickle. It's a lot more complicated than that. Deep Crimson just wasn't marketed well. With the original, it had a manga that started serialization shortly before the game's release to help promote it. Shinovi Versus had the anime airing at around the same time, so that also helped. Those games had marketing. The marketing wasn't there for Deep Crimson, though. It was mainly just Marvelous assuming the name alone would sell copies. That's actually not the case, though. Estival Versus's inital sales weren't very impressive, either. They improved after they came out with the DLC. The DLC helped increase interest in Estival. It's all about how they market it more so than doing a big crazy triple-A material game, really. Don't think they'll ever go for Triple-A. No need to.

I mean, since Uppers didn't do so hot, I can imagine that Takaki will want to do everything he can to try to get the next Senran Kagura game to sell well regardless of what system it releases on. Or at least, I'd hope so. Too many companies just go, "What we do with marketing doesn't matter. The brand name will sell it, anyway." But I would like to think that they know now that this isn't the case.

You cant do that with the formula they've been going on. So essentially a Gessen or Hebijo game and not a Hanzo/Crimson one.
