I got into Senran Kagura around November of 2015. I was at Gamestop with a friend and saw the box for Senran Kagura 2 and though "Heh. Boobs." I got a Nintendo eshop card that day and bought Burst. I was surprised at how good it was, not just from a gameplay department (scratch the abysmal framerate), but from a story and character department as well. Needless to say within 3 months I bought Deep Crimson, a Vita, SV as well as EV.
Tl;dr it was "came for the boobs, stayed for the everything... including the boobs."
This is my first time really interacting with the community, so, how did you guys get into the series?

Years ago saw a random YouTube video for "upcoming 3DS games" that included the original Senran Kagura. Went on forums and was told multiple times "no way is that coming west". Then Burst came out and rumors that XSeed might do it leading me to participate over there in lobbying for its localization. Big victory day was when localization was announced and all these years later each successive title has come over.
Back then I never imagined see these same characters on my big screen with high quality PS4 graphics like Estival Versus. Been a fun ride seeing the series grow.

It seems like an amazing ride. I'm happy I'm riding the Senran express. I pray the hype train doesn't stop anytime soon.

First of all, WELCOME. About how I came to know the franchise, I first learned about it from a Youtube video featuring gameplay of Shinovi Versus. I found it pretty interesting and did a research on Senran Kagura. I actually started with the Anime first to get the general idea of the series. I loved it and then moved on to the games. As you said it isn't only about the boobs. There is a story behind all that and as it progresses, characters who develop, each one relatable and unique in it's own way !!!!

I saw a picture of Mirai doing one of her secret ninja arts on a video, and decided to look more into the gameplay and it didn't really appeal to me at the time. After about... I dunno, six months? I decided to buy Deep Crimson as a joke, and got interested in it immediately after finishing the first chapter. Not because of the breasts, but because of the story. I finished the game in about a week and enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoyed every other bit of Senran Kagura I came across just as much, and found my way here. So uh... yeah, that. Hi.

To start from the beginning, I got into the series by looking at a few Shinovi Versus gameplay videos, then it got me VERY curious about the characters. I wanted to know if there was more to the series than the fan service. One research session later on the SK wiki, I was impressed. I then learned that there was an anime adaptation to the series, so I decided to watch it since at the time, none of the SK games were localized. After watching it, I liked it overall.
Eventually, XSEED finally announced that they were going to localize SKB after a lot of folks demanding it on the old XSEED forum. Once it came out, I quickly bought it and played the ever living crap out of it. The rest is more or less history. lol

Well, I don't really remember how I originally heard of it, but it was right around when Burst was coming out in the west. I know I heard it was a game about "big tittie ninjas" as I recall it being referred to as. Needless to say THAT caught my attention. I looked up some of the characters and liked what I saw. Good designs as well as extremely sexy? Sounds good to me! Anyway I decided to check out the anime first so I wouldn't have to throwdown some money to get the game since I was strapped for cash at the time. I loved the anime! Not just for the fanservice, though I won't lie that is still a big part of it for me hahaha, but also because the characters were actually interesting.
After I watched the anime I decided to get the game, and was pleasantly surprused by how fun it was. I had heard mixed things, but the life and hometown as well as the personalities of the girls was enough to get me to buy it. I actually haven't played any of the other games that have come out since unfortunately, because I didn't have a vita at the time of SV, and just wasn't feeling it at the time of EV. I did still follow the story though haha. Now I think I might get EV after my next paycheck to kickstart myself getting back into the series!

Originally I just came across a picture of Yagyuu, and I loved her design and looked more into the character. From there, I saw Katsu as well. So I had two character designs I was interested in. Looked into SK, thought I'd give it a shot some time. Finally did after some time, watched the anime in one sitting. From there I looked more into it that same day and heard of the game. At that point I just gave up thinking there was no way something like it would release out here.
Then Burst's localization announcement came the very next week. I joined up with the old SIA crew on the XSEED forums way back when, till the game came out. I ended up loving it way more than the anime, as it was more in-depth, the gameplay and music were great, just loved it.
...And before you know it, I ended up running the biggest western Senran community. Funny how that kinda thing happens.

My memory is a bit splotchy, but all I remember is finding out about Senran Kagura though Ikkitousen. I figured "hey if I like Ikkitousen, then I'll like SK.". Turns out I was right

Think it was from seeing some fanart of Hikage on twitter? Looked a bit into it after that and I ended up buying Burst

I don't remember how I got into the bountiful world of Senrans. I think it was through browsing the Nintendo eShop. I saw the trailer for Deep Crimson and thought "Eh, I'll give it a shot." Next thing I know, I ended up liking the series.

Randomly saw the game on the eshop. My friends at the time said how I seemed to hate fun given my attitude, so I bought this game to prove them wrong. Plus it had been years since I played a beat-em up. The Hanzo route I felt was okay but kinda weak. Was willing to give the game a second chance with the Hebijo route...and quickly fell in love with the game. Was it flawed and broken? Oh hell yes, but I loved the characters and story despite the nature of the game.
From then on I played nearly all the SK games, did a review of Shinovi Versus and an analysis/summary of Homura, my absolute favorite, and am trying to think of more SK video ideas.

I saw the manga at the local bookstore, and read a little of it there, then I went home and found out it was an anime and loved it!

When I was about to import my first JP 3DS I was looking for other games outside of Monster Hunter 3G and Taiko no Tatsujin 3DS1 and I remembered that kind of "perverted" game I once saw on the now-dead Nintendo3DSBlog and got both Shinei and Burst (Burst was actually preordered). After that I ended up loving the series.

My neighbor/friend was messing about in the 3ds eshop he told me about this game called "Senran Kagura Burst". Curious, we looked at the videos of the gameplay (ignoring the fanservice) and thought it was a game worth buying. After beating the game I was pleasantly surprised of how deep it was. From the story to the many memorable characters it was a fun ride. It was then on I really became a fan of the series.
