I first saw a video of SKSV on youtube and it caught my eye immediately,I then caught up on the anime series and found a Japanese copy of SV in a international game booth at a convention and purchased without hesitation.
This game embodies my whole teenage life, I Moved schools when I was 15 and attended to a catholic school where I had to wear an ugly uniform and it was so freeing to strip out of my expressionless clone attire on days I could wear whatever I wanted, and free myself from the inside out to release new abilities and powers within myself! I really adore this series. Senran Kagura is Life and hometown in the most literal sense to me.

I've had an eye on the series since the original was first announced, but never got around to playing it despite owning a 3DS... mostly because at the time, I was very much against digital-only games although I've loosened up on it starting with Ace Attorney 5 (although I'm still annoyed at Capcom for doing this). I finally decided to take the plunge with Shinovi Versus, after seeing a copy of it at Fry's.
That said, I do plan to play the original and SK2 at some point in 2017, most likely. I already have purchased a copy of SK2, I just have such a large amount of other 3DS games in my backlog that it's taking a while to finally make room for it. ^^;

I actually didn't remember what exactly got me into Senran Kagura until I spent some time browsing these forums. So thank you guys for helping me, & here's my story.
My link in to Senran Kagura was Hyperdimension Neptunia. It was a game that I was passively interested in for a while, & I finally decided to pick up Re;Birth1 on Steam about 1.5 years ago. I played through it & really enjoyed it to the point of playing through the rest of the main games (still working on VII, though). However, as I was playing it, I noticed that certain characters had costumes that were references to other things. Some of them I understood, but I was curious as to what the others were from, so I decided to look it up. That's when I learned that those characters in particular were supposed to be embodiments of various developers with some of their outfits referencing their other games. As part of that search, I was introduced to MarvelousAQL & their flagship franchise, Senran Kagura. When I first saw it, I felt a mix of curiosity & weirdness, but in the end, I decided to check it out. I watched the anime, & I fell in love with it. Admittedly, the anime is nothing too spectacular; I think I more so fell in love with the world & its characters, so much so that I decided to get every game in the series.
Anyway, that's my story. I hope that this series endures for a very long time.

Hi, first time poster. I remember seeing SK2 at Gamestop for quite a while, but I never really paid it much attention until after I had seen a few pieces of fanart of Ikaruga in some adult/suggestive scenarios. Couldn't remember it for the life of me, I just know it brought my interest to this game.

I think it was Recommended to me as a game to play on the PS Store, and I had a look and was like "hmm looks interesting, my type of thing" but never got Estival Verses until recently [Loving Every Minute] due to the thought in the back of my mind that said "If your mates knew what you were playing" type of thing, but then I just thought "F*** it, I like the look of it, I'm gonna get it" and thankful that I did, its not just about Boobs, and the Story is very interesting, can relate to some of the characters, and also bought Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash! [wish they'd do more Episodes!] as its truly entertaining to watch, and now as I only have a PS4 and the other games aren't Ported/Remastered have to wait til Peach Beach Splash reaches the UK, Some of the comments that the Characters come out with did make me laugh a few times, especially between Ryobi and Ryona lol

For my birthday two years ago, my best friend gave me a PlayStation TV, which is like the home console version of a Vita. And I was like "yo, thanks, man, but I can't play this if I ain't got no games!" So we went to Fry's to see if I could find at least one Vita game that interested me. It ultimately came down to either Shinovi Versus or Hyperdimension Neptunia: Action Unleashed U. I knew some stuff about HDN, but virtually nothing about Senran Kagura other than its existence. I was going to get Action Unleashed U from the fact that I was a bit more knowledgeable of what I was gonna get, but Shinovi Versus was in that "Let's Get Physical!" special edition. Seeing as that made it more valuable, I decided to get that instead of HDN.
Came back home to try it out for a bit, thinking "probably will just be mindless fun with a bunch of fanservice, but nothing special." Then suddenly, story! Addicting, polished gameplay! Characters with actual character beyond their giant boobs! "Hold on, hold on, this franchise has actual effort put into it?! It's not just T&A?!" Baffled by my discovery, I started doing research. Just from looking at the character designs and mechanics, I instantly knew that this was something special, not just some more weeb trash. Soon found out that Burst was only available physically in English in PAL regions, and download only in America. Believe it or not, I had so much blind faith in the franchise that I went out of my way to import a European 2DS and a PAL copy of a special edition of Burst that came with the game, a shirt, and a poster. After about a month, I finally had both the 2DS and Burst in my hands.
When I started playing, the controls felt like second nature to me. Aerial raves, dashing mid-combo, using Secret Ninja Arts like a maniac, it all felt natural! I fell in love with all the characters at first sight. Being the huge pervert that I am, the fanservice didn't bother me in the slightest. Being a sucker for cheesy stories about love and friendship, the story gave me a roller coaster of emotions. It was just... magical. It actually kind of reminds me of my experience with Kingdom Hearts. When I was still a young teenager, I legitimately had a hard time believing something as awesome as Kingdom Hearts could exist, and would only believe it until I played it. Senran Kagura managed to recreate that same feeling of "there's no way something this awesome actually exists," and it managed to do it on adult me! Since then, Senran Kagura has become one of my all-time favorite game franchises, probably only topped by Tales of, and even then I still feel like I like SK more on certain days. I've got a European 2DS literally just for Burst and Deep Crimson (and because the PAL region covers of those games are too good), have bought every Steam release day one, got the Day One Endless Summer edition of Estival Versus on PS4, a Katsuragi mousepad, and you bet I'll also be getting PBS and SK7 day one whenever they come out over here!

I watched a few videos of SKEV on YouTube and thought to myself 'ok, that looks pretty fun.' I was reluctant and scared to get it though because I still live with my family and shame dictates my life choices. But eventually I said screw it and bought it on PSN along with some DLC. The game has provided me lots of joy, but also worry because the story scenes caused my PS4 to overheat.
All in all, I'm glad I gave Senran Kagura a chance and I am currently obsessed with it. Got the Platinum today and I can't wait for PBS!

Back in 2015 I started to see the name "Senran Kagura" being mentioned offhandedly on message boards I frequented. Out of curiosity I started researching it and found out it was a multimedia franchise with games as well as an anime. I decided to check out some gameplay videos to see what it looked like (I was looking for a new sexy game series since DOAX3 hadn't been announced yet). I selected a video of Shinovi Versus, and recoiled in shock the first time I saw one of the shinobi transformations. "No way I'm getting this." I said to myself. It was way more lewd than anything else I had seen before, the art style wasn't something I was used to (I prefer the more realistic anime art styles), and the girls were also younger than what I was looking for. But damn, I just couldn't get that image out of my head.
So a few weeks later I watched more videos of Shinovi Versus, got used to the art style, and saw characters I liked better (the first video I saw featured Yagyu, who still turns me off). "Well, I guess it can't do any harm to try one of the games." I said to myself. I opted for Bon Appetit, as it was far cheaper than Shinovi Versus. Seemed like a safe way to try out SK. Little did I know I had just downloaded the game with the most over-the-top fanservice in the entire franchise. I'm pretty sure the opening movie alone made me blush. Then came the perfect finishes. Then I started to like the characters for more than just their looks, and I was hooked.
I then watched the first 4 episodes of the anime and liked it as well (I need to buy that by the way), then bought Shinovi Versus in late 2015, then pre-ordered Estival Versus and DOAX3. When I played both of the latter I realized EV was really what DOAX3 should have been, and Senran Kagura surpassed DOAX as my favorite ecchi game series.
