Interesting article, I hadn't heard of Wolverine publicity before so this was new to me. I do agree that the Yumi marketing is a bit much and definitely is hurting other characters. Just look at how many New Wave cards Yumi has compared to the others. They should tone down the Yumi and show off the other characters more. Just because Yumi is the most popular doesn't mean the others don't have fans. A small criticism of the article though is that the last paragraph got kind of repetitive. Thanks for your input. I like Yumi, and want to see her grow and develop, but the excessive marketing for her will eventually hurt her image.

I can't believe I didn't find this sooner. I am an avid Yumi fan, so I didn't really mind to over marketing until now. Yes, being the most popular is good and I'm glad she is, but I think there should be a limit to how much she can uses to garner attention for the franchise. Unless she gets more development as a character, the whole Wolverine Popularity thing is just going to hurt her along with everyone else in the series.

Excuse me?
I don't think this is the case at all and the author is really just making problems out of nothing.
Yumi had an appropriately large role in EV, and if she counted as not having a decent role, then only Ryouna and Ryoubi count as having a role at all.
She's being used for marketing, people love it and she's got a decent spot in the game. I still need to hear the second (this guy is the first) to tall about the LACK of Yumi in-game (even when keeping in mind the possible discrepancy with marketing). Jeepers, guys... NOBODY got character development in EV. Not even the twins, despite having a decent role. They didn't develop shit. So if someone is complaining about the lack of development for Yumi, it feels to me like that person didn't pay enough attention to other characters to notice Yumi certainly acted as a main character similar to how Asuka acted in the previous games.

I think all of us can agree on the fact that Yumi is used way too much for marketing, overshadowing every other character. I don't know what other people think, but personally, I don't complain because her role in the story isn't proportional to all the marketing she gets, but the opposite: she is marketed way too much as a main character for the story role she actually has. Personally, I'd rather have her getting less publicity, than giving her an even bigger role to justify her Wolverine Publicity: as you said, her current role isn't small at all, I don't see how can anyone complain about her not getting enough spotlight.
