well a lot of hints its SMTV, also, PS4 winning the official Atlus Japan poll, and the choice of UE4, pretty much opens up possibility it's a timed exclusive and it could actually come to PS4 too shin-megamitensei.jp/twitter.com/AtlusUSAtwitter.com/megaten_atlus/on and Fire Emblem did and include main character sex options, both male and female choices. And I feel something SMT team has been neglecting, dodging and ignoring for too long, is establishing main character sex options as standard feature, allowing players the freedom to choose the lead protagonists sex and appearance. Shin Megami Tensei is still behind modern Fire Emblem and especially Pokemon on that front. Those series started out with only male protagonist, but when they started providing female protagonist option, that was a game changer that made the games more popular for girls and anyone that prefer female protagonist. Those franchises became more popular, successful and important to wider demographics, allowing players to choose the protagonist's sex (besides the extra appearance customization the protagonist has in those games). More girls play Pokemon and Fire Emblem because of it, and gamers in general that prefer female protagonist are more inclined to play games that give that that option and enjoy the gameplay and story more. SMT has a silent protagonist formula for its RPG, so like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, KOTOR, Fallout 3, Xenoblade X, etc. the protagonist should be customizable at least at the sex choice level. SMT generally allows players to choose between good and evil, chaos and law (and neutral), it's very nature makes it fully capable of providing the freedom for players to choose between male and female. and Shin Megami Tensei already has examples of SMT games that include that feature: Shin Megami Tensei if... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei_If... Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3 Portable megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Persona_3_PortableShin Megami Tensei Nine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_NineShin Megami Tensei Imagine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_Imagineand unlike Persona, Shin Megami Tensei isn't neck deep with relationship trees, so it doesn't have to put as much effort to make each gender have its differences in how they are spoken to and treated (and even without relationship depth, P3P did fine adding unique differences to the female MC experiences, and Fire Emblem has extensive bond systems, marriage, children AND still provides unprecented protagonist customization options, both in sex, appearance and color options too.) At least the bare minimum that P3P provided for MC gender options should become standard for Shin Megami Tensei from now on (2 main character presets to choose from: one male, and one female) . all it takes is a model swap, 2D art swap, voice swap, and edits to the script for some words. Fire Emblem Fates provided all that as well as expanded customization features, including face, hairstyle and colors that influence both the 3D model and 2D portrait. and the game story becomes are more personal, emotional, and something greater because players have a protagonist that's more to their liking. Protagonist customization is priceless, and biological sex choice is the most basic option all games should have, as well as good appearance options. Both males and females play RPGs and other games, even mainstream shooters like Call of Duty and Star Wars Battlefront are providing female player options. they should adapt what they did with SMT Nine and SMT Imagine's protagonist creation and improve it. it doesn't take a mmorpg to have those features. A large part of the SMT fanbase would appreciate the feature if they included it, and for those that like both genders, that could mean extra incentive to play through the game more than once. So any Shin Megami Tensei / Pokemon / Fire Emblem fans that agree, could request the feature from Atlus on their twitter, as well as try to get Atlus Japan to be more aware of the demand for female protagonist option alongside male option. P3P's female main character really became popular, regardless what timeline/reality the series argues is canon, Shin Megami Tensei in general is made up of infinite realities, so female MC still counts. both male and female options would make Shin Megami Tensei games more appealing and make the games more for everyone instead of catering to mostly just one demographic. everything else about the series formula is pretty solid, but the lack of lead protagonist sex option in the main games really limits its potential and demographics until they make main protagonist sex options a standard feature, which make the game worth a lot more and get more interested both main protagonist sex options do matter,. especially if the MC represents the player, all the more reason to let the player decide and have the freedom to choose their sex, as well as appearance. Pokemon, Fire Emblem and other successful franchises prove it, prospering with those options without leaving neither sex out of the selection and player choice. it's win/win for all and even lower budget games like Fire Emblem Fates and not so graphically intense games like Pokemon can achieve and provide those customization features, so should Shin Megami Tensei, which encompasses all dualities and opposites. tradition is really no excuse since SMT already has a history of bending and breaking its own rules both new SMT projects and any new SMT and Persona projects they make should include lead protagonist biological sex options, it would make the game better and more would be interested in playing the games if they can choose what they prefer to be of course the games are still popular with male protagonist, but female protagonist makes everything better, everyone that prefers female protagonist would agree.

Eh, I dunno if it is really necessary. But I can why, for other story porpoises. Just hope they can remove the smirk mechanic that was in SMT IV which was rather either too helpful or really annoying.
I also would like to see them remake the first 2 and maybe Nocturne for the Switch as well. ( Just keep that fucking annoying cunt Dante out of Nocturne and give me Raidou instead like they intended with the original one. )

I don't think it'll be on PS4. Niche games like this tend not to be spread out across every different system. It might be nice if they did do that, but it seems unlikely.

I don't think it'll be on PS4. Niche games like this tend not to be spread out across every different system. It might be nice if they did do that, but it seems unlikely. this isn't the PS2 days, which didnt have PSN nor social media, nowadays Atlus is more relevant and can market any game more easily, and it can become mainstream on PS4. SMT was ahead of its time, and its following on portable is just a fraction of its potential fanbase and success on PS4. UE4 also opens up total possibilities to eventually port it to PS4. staying down at the "its niche" attitude mentality, isn't going to raise it to higher levels. Atlus and Namco made previously niche genres like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls into mainstream successful franchises, and they choose the right platforms for it. apparently, some dont have faith until their seeing is believing perspective is slammed with hard facts, but those facts can only be confirmed if they actually bring it to PS4. the attempt is the first step. doubts accomplish nothing. and Persona 5 fans can become Shin Megami Tensei fans on PS4. on top of that. multiplatform between Switch and PS4 with Shin Megami Tensei series, is more profit and more fans than being always exclusive to one platform. as a business, its common sense for Atlus to go multiplatform with the project between Switch and PS4 at least. Switch could get timed exclusive, then later the PS4 wave of sales would elevate it to greater success

It's not going to happen. Atlus doesn't have those kind of funds. If you really think that Unreal Engine 4 alone is enough to make it a possible timed exclusive, well, one, it doesn't mean anything, and two, that's just wishful thinking. There are reasons why Shin Megami Tensei is niche beyond the platform. A big part of it is the "anime" aesthetic that a majority of western gamers do not care for. You could talk it up as much as you want, but the fact of the matter is that most people in the West aren't going to give it a chance because it looks too "anime".

thats very closed minded considering anime sells big in the west. Fire Emblem is one example. Dragon Ball and Naruto are others. as is Persona (that franchise would be nothing with only Japan sales). and there is major hype for Persona 5 in the west. Final Fantasy is still basically anime. Dynasty Warriors still is localized all these generations. Senran Kagura sells well enough to get more games localized. the trend mentality of thinking anime is niche in the west, is from the loud racist and xenophobic minority that wants it to appear that way. westerns and americans in particular are more open to all sorts of art forms than what the stupid ignorant racist hateful "internet" trolls care to accept. also Atlus has been more profitable on PS4, if they are smart to bring SMT to PS4, they will see the numbers climb. anyways a new teaser gematsu.com/2017/03/shin-megami-tensei-hd-project-new-imagealso previous unreleased tracks now released

If anything is close-minded, it's this. Dragon Ball and Naruto are the exception, not the rule. And neither Fire Emblem sells anywhere near enough to be considered "mainstream". They sells as far as their niche, and that's good, but that's all they do. And the only "major hype" for Persona 5 is from people who are already invested in the franchise and from few others. And Dynasty Warriors still being localized really doesn't mean jack-squat. Keep in mind, Dynasty Warriors is INFAMOUS among Western critics for repitition, monotony, and lack of variety in its gameplay, and none of the games sell millions of copies. You can't even say that for Senran Kagura either. They sell as far as their niche, but not much more. Final Fantasy is the ONLY exception. The only. One. And its not racist or xenophobic to say that anime is niche in the West. It is niche. If you call out to something on the street in Los Angeles or whatever, chances are pretty high that they're not going to know a goddamn thing about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Fist of the North Star, or Berserk, all of which are highly ranked favorites in most Western anime fan circles. Honestly, you would have INFINITELY better luck trying to talk to them about Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or Michael Bay's shitty Transformers movies. Remember the infamous Devin Faraci debacle? That's nothing new. It's more common than you think, and it is definitely not an isolated incident. Remember. Even in Japan, "otaku", as they're most commonly known, are HORRIBLY ostracized by society.

Persona 5 is already bringing in westerners that previously didn't even care about anime nor the series. and Shin Megami Tensei can too on PS4. it's worth a try considering PS4 is superior hardware, more profitable market, more diversified market, most chosen market by even indies, more mature market, that something like Shin Megami Tensei can definitely be more popular than the small corner of fans it has on nintendo platforms.
do you think Senran Kagura would still be a thing if it stuck with nintendo? nope. Senran Kagura 2 proved that what little fanbase the series has on 3DS/nintendo is insignificant compared to its fanbase on PS4 now, and growing. Takaki tested the waters with Estival, and now double dipping with Peach Beach Splash, they discovered the obvious truth that PS4 is the greatest platform this gen for any game. it doesn't need to be some western franchise or western style to sell well.
Final Fantasy the only exception? Nier Automata sold over a million already, from most people that didn't even have previous experience with Taro games.
I dunno why you oppose the idea of SMT and more Japanese/anime/eastern games coming to PS4. Nintendo majority sure care less for SMT than a larger amount of PS4 gamers would, if Atlus bothered to bring the games to PS4, and market them like they do Persona.
and now with Persona 5 gaining more popularity, and turn based combat being acceptable, there is greater interest to explore the SMT games if Atlus bothered to bring them to PS4.
All it takes is confidence. and even if SMT doesn't produce Persona 5 numbers, the series could still do better for itself on PS4, like Fire Emblem, Senran Kagura and other "niche" series continue to do (Fire Emblem is nintendo owned, however its still an example that even niche anime games do well in the west, regardless what street people in Los Angeles think). And if asian/anime games really didnt matter to the west, Koei wouldn't bother localizing the upcoming Dynasty Warriors 9.
I mean come on, don't be a traitor to the anime/eastern game crowds. Debbie downers accomplish nothing, and Atlus is harming themselves continuing to think SMT can't sell more on PS4 compared to 3DS/Switch.
your attitude is just keeping anime/Japanese/eastern games underground, and being an advocate to the western fanatics and white supremacy cultists that want push foreign games out of their borders.
public local opinion or awareness of eastern/anime games is not the point. the industry and internet is its own civilization in a sense, and just because someone outside knows Star Wars, but doesn't know SMT, doesn't mean it cannot be relevant to hundreds of thousands to millions in the west.
your post basically conforms to the toxic racist movement (and there is a movement, you can basically point out anyone that raises the "anti-weeb" flag) going on this gen that tries to shun and shut out anything foreign/anime and not western. that is wrong, and it's sad you're being such a sellout to what I suppose is your hobby/interests, keeping them in the closet instead of open appreciation for eastern games/anime, encouraging it to grow fame in the west as well.
your jan 16 post especially is just horribly pessimistic. if Takaki had your attitude, Senran Kagura would have stayed on 3DS and died a quick death, and that series is even more niche than SMT, its only becoming more relevant because it cared to move to the platform/market that's better for its mature/adult/controversial style, which is the PS4.
there's already has a history of making/bringing SMT games to nonnintendo platforms. SMT I and II on Playstation 1 (which are superior to their Super Famicom versions) SMT Nine on Xbox (which while it was Japan only and didnt sell much, it still is a one of a kind masterpiece, and better made instead of just an idea, also gave games like Imagine and Nocturne a headstart in R&D and assets), SMT Imagine on PC, SMT III Nocturne, DDS, DDS2 on Playstation 2 (and localized), they can bring SMT to PS4, and Atlus does have the money to make it happen and they could finally learn what GUST and many other companies knew from the start: PS4 is the definitive and most profitable gaming platform this generation for all kinds of games, internationally as well.
and if Atlus brings SMT HD to PS4 and localized, and it happens to sell worse than Switch (which would be ridiculous and highly unlikely unless Atlus totally doesn't market it right), then critics could have an argument, however unless they even try to begin with, they are wasting greater opportunities on a greater platform that's worldwide successful, which would benefit Shin Megami Tensei, more people on PS4, and Atlus themselves!!
one way or another SMT has to move to a new platform. 3DS is gonna disappear eventually, and Switch isn't optimal for the series like PS4 can be. the Switch is still a better choice than 3DS, especially for console gamers, but its hardware struggles to even run nintendo's first party giant optimally. SMT HD can definitely be more profitable becoming multiplatform between Switch and PS4. UE4 basically makes it even more possible. its naive to think SMT only sells on nintendo platforms and just Atlus franchises that became mainstream since PS2 can be successful on PS4 , only conservatives would be that blind about things.
that being said, whether Atlus sticks SMT to Switch and 3DS only, or moves to PS4, they should pick either Switch or PS4 to reintroduce the series as a whole to the new gen of gamers. I, II, III, IV, IVA, Deep Strange Journey, and others should all be available and playable on one modern console (and of course all localized). if even a not so big selling franchise still made Dynasty Warriors 8 multiplatform between PS4 and Xbox One, Atlus could bring all its classic and modern SMTs to a modern console. if they weren't wasting money on no name games like Etrian Odessey, they would have more to give SMT a proper reemergence in the modern industry on one popular console platform.
it's SMT's 35th anniversary for crying out loud!!!!!! and what do they do? make Deep Strange Journey 3DS exclusive, instead of adapting it to the Switch. so much for starting to bring the SMT community together on nintendo's latest console/hybrid. that game could have helped more Switch fans anticipate SMT HD. and they still haven't bothered to port SMT Nocturne to the PS4 PSN Store and Nintendo Switch. they brought it to PS3, what are they waiting for??
atlus is still out of touch on what's best for the series. and their interests are stretched too thin spending the budgets on games that don't even have a significant legacy behind them. the franchises they should concentrate on are Shin Megami Tensei and Persona above all.

This stuff isn't quite what you think it is. Not by a long shot. To start, you're too aggressive in how you word this stuff, and it makes what you're writing read like propaganda. And maybe that's not the intention, but it seems loaded. Esepcially when you use a word like "traitor". What you mention also goes both ways. I've seen the flip side of what you describe when you mention a "movement". Have you ever seen somebody mocking, belittling, and slandering people for not being interested in anime games? I have. They're extremely callous about it. They've told people to kill themselves. That's not okay no matter what. Those people make the anime gaming community look bad. I can't condone that sort of behavior. It's not good for the community and it shouldn't be ignored. Niche gaming warriors (NGWs for short) actually hurt the anime gaming community with their actions. They alienate prospective newcomers and veteran fans alike and get away with it because nobody is coming the violent language they use or the condescension they show to "normies". (God, I hate that word...) But either way, that's neither here nor there. On the contrary to "public opinion/awareness doesn't matter", that is something that I cannot agree with because public awareness is quite possibly the biggest notable sign of success you could ever think of. It means that something will withstand the test of time no matter how many years pass. That's why I mentioned it. And it really does need to be raised, which basically means, talk about this stuff. Spread the word. Get a conversation going, and don't drop it. Word of mouth goes a long way, to tell the truth, and the big problem is that a lot of people just aren't willing to keep the conversation going, and that's the biggest thing right now, is that people need to be talking about it.The games won't just magically do better on the PS4 if nobody talks about them, and that's really what went wrong with Deep Crimson, with people just not talking about it. Blame the 3DS if you want, but at the end of the day, you just can't expect people to be interested in something if people aren't talking about it. The world just doesn't work that way. And the whole thing with "don't be a traitor", you don't need to worry about that. I mean, I have fucking gameplay videos of Estival Versus on YouTube for God's sake and plan to do videos of PBS when it releases in the States, which really is a part of what I said just now about keeping the conversation going. (No commentary, but they're there.) I don't know what sellout is supposed to mean, you mean like, playing other games besides anime games? Is there anything wrong with that?

well it's confusing when someone plays devil's advocate of those people that are so conservative and xenophobic, said people amd their principles are corrupted to the point of not accepting differences, change, and things outside their culture. the anime fanbase is not nearly as hostile and disrespectful as the racists and haters that throw "weeb" bricks at people. the racists and antiforeign products are the loudest and most vile on the internet. and I meant sell out in that your comments come across as someone that challenges fans that do want anime and stuff to become more popular in the west, and they can be. of course maybe they won't be entirely accepted, but better than underground cults barely holding the series afloat. Games can't prosper nor improve as much staying niche or too niche. but I don't want bad blood between us, it's just that optimism doesn't like pessimism. you have a point about public awareness in regards to talking about things to get the word out, but it's often met with "shill" slander and other hateful messages. even still I don't situations where like when I bring up logical paths that would benefit a series, and skeptics are like "they aren't gonna do that", even with the company's history of bending and even breaking the rules in the past, even making and porting SMT games outside of nintendo or playstation platforms, someone would not even open up to the possibility they just might bring their latest console SMT project to PS4? related to the SMT subject, it's insulting that even with a new Persona game and a blank slate, the P5 developers so happen to leave female protagonist out of the equation? Why? Because 1. they happen to decide and proritize a male lead character 2. they complain the extra workload is too much to add a female protagonist option as well (when there are RPGs with more text and dialogue than Persona 5 has, that have both sexes as protagonist options, on top of multiple races and appearance customization). So Atlus made it apparent they are not resourceful enough to make female protagonist as a secondary option, then how about making female protagonist their priority over male protagonist then? at least every other game make their Persona/SMT games prioritize female protagonist character design and design the story on that type of lead protagonist? Their series is already oversaturated with male leads, and they would still sell big with female lead. Especially to the ones that think "it doesn't matter", having a female lead would not convince them to skip the game, so Atlus will make a full profit anyways, and at the sametime they help the series from being a total sausage shrine. With Persona 5 choosing male protagonist over female protagonist, and most of the single player SMT games having a male protagonist, Atlus should not oversaturate their glorification of male leads, when female lead and female glorification deserves to be in the latest and greatest Shin Megami Tensei Brand New Title coming to Nintendo Switch. So Persona 5 lead is male, but when are developers going to give female lead a turn and priority pick, especially in Shin Megami Tensei? They should flip their protagonist sex priorities and plan the story based on a female lead protagonist first, then include a male lead protagonist as an alternate option if they have time and budget to include that. Doing it that way would ensure the latest Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games have a female lead. Persona 5 didn't have a female lead included because of extra workload and primarily because developers chose to prioritize male lead www.polygon.com/2017/4/5/15190808/persona-5-female-main-character-protagonist It is sad yet another Persona masterpiece leaves fans out of the fun that prefer female lead and only female lead (I'm sure those that refuse to play a game with female lead would understand the frustration and rejection if a game they are interested in, doesn't have a protagonist that matches their preferred sex for the protagonist) . However with the direction Persona 5 decided to go, that's ALL the more reason for Shin Megami Tensei HD (Switch) to go in the opposite direction and design the game and story around a good designed and charismatic female lead protagonist. Shin Megami Tensei I (1992) Shin Megami Tensei II (1994) Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne (2003) Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey (2009) Shin Megami Tensei IV (2013) Shin Megami Tensei Final / Apocalypse (2016) all those games have male lead protagonist, meanwhile, those with at least female lead protagonist option are: Shin Megami Tensei If... (1994) Shin Megami Tensei NINE (2002) Shin Megami Tensei Imagine (2007) that's basically it. For 10 years, there hasn't been a Shin Megami Tensei game with female protagonist option. If you don't count the mmorpg, for 15 years, there's practically only two Shin Megami Tensei RPGs with female lead protagonist option. And if you only count localized console or portable mainline Shin Megami Tensei RPGs, for 25 YEARS there are no SMT RPGs AT ALL, with playable female lead protagonist. Now how is it fair if Shin Megami Tensei: Brand New Title/Switch developers choose male protagonist over female protagonist? A girl or young woman being the lead protagonist the player plays as, are popular, requested and still too rare in quality games like mainline SMT series. If they can't include both sexes as options for the protagonist like in If... and NINE, they should choose female protagonist as priority for Shin Megami Tensei HD (Switch). Those that dont care can't understand, but they shouldn't wonder why the subject is brought up, because humans are made up of male and female, and it is inconsiderate and biased for Atlus and developers to continue not making their stories and games with female protagonist, at least every other SMT and Persona game if they can't include both. With all these generations of rpgs having male leads, there is much that female leads can provide to the experience and interactions that male leads cannot provide. and things inbetween. For a long time they have explored these things from the male side/perspective of humanity, they should explore the female side/perspective of humanity as well. SMT games have already been experienced as a male, they should now be experienced as a female. Greater numbers would discover it makes a positive world of a difference, and more can take a liking to female protagonist, and the unique physical and social qualities of the feminine that would make Shin Megami Tensei series more interesting and amazing. I'm sure a lot of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fans agree, but like you said, we have to speak up and let the other sides of the fanbase, the developers and Atlus be constantly aware it matters more than they can imagine Yes, it's their story, their game, their product. However, ANYONE THAT VALUES FAIRNESS, can agree that female lead protagonist is long overdue for both modern Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. At this point, I don't care if Shin Megami Tensei HD/ Brand New Title is Switch exclusive, just make sure the protagonist is female as priority, with male protagonist secondary option if they have time/budget for that. I won't expect them to, but if they do make SMT HD/Brand New Title/V have female lead protagonist and design her right, and the game itself rivals the greatest Shin Megami Tensei games, that could convince me to get a Switch for it. there's already too many sucky games and mediocre games with female leads that are wasted because said games are not good enough, while actually better crafted games could be amazing if they had or included female lead protagonist option. when the hell are we gonna have a new JRPG that has both outstanding RPG, great production values AND female lead protagonist? there is never enough of them. From Software is pretty much like the only Japanese rpg developer that cares to do more for more types of players, at least for their Dark Souls genre

well it's confusing when someone plays devil's advocate of those people that are so conservative and xenophobic, said people amd their principles are corrupted to the point of not accepting differences, change, and things outside their culture. the anime fanbase is not nearly as hostile and disrespectful as the racists and haters that throw "weeb" bricks at people. the racists and antiforeign products are the loudest and most vile on the internet. and I meant sell out in that your comments come across as someone that challenges fans that do want anime and stuff to become more popular in the west, and they can be. of course maybe they won't be entirely accepted, but better than underground cults barely holding the series afloat. Games can't prosper nor improve as much staying niche or too niche. but I don't want bad blood between us, it's just that optimism doesn't like pessimism. you have a point about public awareness in regards to talking about things to get the word out, but it's often met with "shill" slander and other hateful messages. I...don't recall playing devil's advocate for anything. I'm definitely not defending any instances of hate speech. And as far as I've seen, NGWs are the most hostile people I've ever had the displeasure of observing/associating with. They're self-righteous, elitist, and hypocritical. I actually considered that community my home for a long time before seeing just how shitty they can be towards people outside the community. You try dealing with someone who harasses you on Twitter over not being sold on what appears to be a quite average anime game and replies with insults in all caps if you even try to defend yourself. You'd be surprised at how taxing and stressful it is, like dealing with a schoolyard bully. Because it's not realistic to expect it to magically happen. When it does happen, it happens slowly, and that's just a part of how the community really works. It takes time, and it's not a good idea to try to rush it. It's a very slow process, involving multiple factors. There needs to be an open, welcoming community, strong marketing, and high support for these properties for a long time. I don't really consider it pessimistic at all, honestly. I think it goes without saying that you're bound to run into people who won't necessarily like the conversation, but your replies make it sound like it's not worth it, which is an EXTREMELY defeatist attitude for someone who wants this stuff to get more popular than it is. All I can really say is to ignore it and look for the people that are open to it. There's really no point in trying to convince the ones that aren't going to be, so all you can really do is find the right people. Although on the topic of strong markets, I'm honestly surprised that Steam hasn't once been mentioned by you. It's a pretty high-profile platform, and many games are now being released on it to much success. Definitely helps that it is constantly being supported by a strong, passionate community, and also has regular sales that are highly popular with consumers. I sincerely doubt that it's going away anytime soon. A good gaming PC also has a lot more power than even the most high-end consoles. Something worth considering. My younger brother said once in conversation that modern gaming consoles are essentially shitty PCs, and I agree. With online play also no longer being free on any of the current consoles, free online is an advantage that PCs now have over consoles. If you look into it, it's really no wonder that games like Senran, Neptunia, Warriors, and Atelier are now being released in the West with PC versions on Steam. The Steam community is strong enough to justify that decision.

Steam and PC has its advantages, but it cannot substitute console comfort, the millions that play on console and the indies and AAA developers that make or bring their PC games to consoles agree. Consoles are just as much if not more profitable than PC, and with less risk of piracy as well. Plus optimization is easier on consoles since they dont have to make game on all sorts of PC hardware specs. Games can run worse on PC than console.
well anyways, just gonna check if Atlus is really gonna do SMT Switch right and more of preferences and demographics they neglected all these gens, but not counting on it. at this rate, the only factor that would convince me to get Switch console is if the Switch Fire Emblem turns out as great as FE:Fates, and Pokemon Stars is a thing. I'm sick of developers that just are satisfied with the one demographic they cash in on, and dont get progressive and more open with who they make the games for, even when successful developers that do think outside the box show them examples how it can be done.
So much unused potential from a lot of mainstream and longtime developers. it's a shame.
videogames are a tough industry to get involved with, get in leader positions, and influence. I been thinking of writing books or comic books, but I'm not sure if I would do them right, since I do half baked effort on things. but all those idiots and inconsiderate assholes in the industry, may motivate me to do something, even if its using a medium that's not attention grabbing, while not caring about fame nor money. Inbetween my gaming habits, I got to do and create things my own way, it's fruitless expecting others to do things how I want them to be.

Inbetween my gaming habits, I got to do and create things my own way, it's fruitless expecting others to do things how I want them to be. Go for it. A bit of advice, though, would be to play around with multiple ideas to try to find the ones you would be most interested to see come to fruition. Coming from someone who has worked on fiction as a hobby, it's very easy to lose interest in your projects if they don't click with you, so you want to find the ideas that appeal the most to you, and your own personal passion and love for your work is going to show in the work itself, so you want to make sure you can keep interest while working on said project. The more a project resonates with the writer, the easier it'll be for that writer to continue to develop said project.
