This is a thread discussing the sales of PBS which will be coming out three weeks from today. In regards to how I think it'll do, my prediction is 20,000 units in the first week and I'll stick to that. PBS is a TPS complete fanservice game made for a 5th anniversary. Takaki wont call it a spinoff (it hurts sales if you do that) but it's pretty much got the entire makings of one. It's not designed to sell amazingly. Which is evident seeing as how the nyuu nyuu DX pack non bonus edition as well as the regular non bonus edition are both sold out on amazon japan as of right now three weeks before release. Demand is decent for it seeing how the DX pack bonus edition is actually ranking in the top 100 which shouldnt be happening since that edition is around $20 more expensive for a single DLC costume. So stock is low. Game was probably on the cheap side to make so Marvelous doesnt want to go all out advertising this against a bevy of other games coming out soon. www.comgnet.com/ranking/Comgnet's preorder rankings indicate PBS (DX pack) has 15 pts preordered. Typically, a way to read comgnet rankings is that each 1pt correlates to 1000 units sold nationally. So if you talke those 15 pts, the DX pack has a chance of selling somewhere around 15000. This isnt a perfect measurement since comgnet is a small chain but it's something. The items tend to usually do better nationally than what comgnet lists. It's a baseline. The regular edition of PBS is not in their top 20 preordered games (which is all they show) simply because there is so much stuff coming out next month with the Switch's release and the end of the fiscal year. Those games probably wont effect the sales at all but they do hide the regular edition's placement on the list. As of this post, the lowest thing on the comgnet chart is Blue Reflection at 13 pts. So the regular edition can be anywhere from 0 to 13 pts. If this game manages to sell 25,000 I'll be impressed. So if you have any predictions for the sales or any factoids on where it is selling and how based on rankings, make a post. The majority of these types of games are preordered right when preorders are up and right before the game comes out so we can try to read tea leaves before the media create report on March 22nd.

Two weeks to go. Amazon is officially out of all nyuu nyuu DX packs. Not aiming very high with this game so it's probably for the best. Hopefully the next game they try harder and get more aggressive. The regular edition is now consistently ranking in the top 100 of games, regular edition with the bonus is around 200 which is still surprising. This game is going to sell pretty well for itself.

More Comgnet preorder rankings revealed since everything on sale last week went on sale. PBS regular edition shows 11 pts vs DX pack 16 points. Baseline as of now for first week sales is 27,000 which would be kind of tremendous.

I doubt that can be called tremendous, since is lower than EV's PS4 ver sales that capped at 30k units during its first week.

PBS ends its last day on the comgnet chart with 32 points. So theretically it should end up around 32,000 first week sales. This game is going to have a sell-through percentage of like 100%. It's gone from pretty much every store on the first day even Amazon, and that's dumb. That can just hinder sales. It'll probably be #1 or 2 on the PS store if so. I doubt that can be called tremendous, since is lower than EV's PS4 ver sales that capped at 30k units during its first week. PBS is literally a spinoff watergame that reuses all EV assets though. Which is why it astonishes me that people are complaining about a story or DLC for something that is essentially DLC: The game. If it gets above 20k on a first week sell through, I still think that's still a big deal.

Except that it was said before release and it has been fully confirmed now that the game is a main line one. So, 30k sales at release would be dissappointing for the series' standard.

Except that it was said before release and it has been fully confirmed now that the game is a main line one. So, 30k sales at release would be dissappointing for the series' standard. - PBS is an out of the norm game about water gun battles that seems shorter than an average SK game simply meant to celebrate the 5th anniversary. It's pretty much just Takaki's pet project that he's wanted to do for a while.
- The game utilizes nearly every asset from EV it's ridiculous, I dont see where they'll need to make up costs especially with the character DLC just bringing in more money on top of that.
- Marvelous doesnt even seem to need to sell that many copies. This game is sold out on Amazon a week before it comes out. And not just the regular editions of the game and the DX pack. But also the $20 extra amazon costume and t shirt. That never happens. Ever. This indicates the stock was not that high. The game has already made up its costs most likely at this point. The number we see next week in mediacreate is going to top out near 100% sell through. There will be a lot of digital purchases.
It's...canon I guess. The whole deal with not calling it a spinoff I see is just some method to shore up more sales because when something gets called a spinoff using the same cast as previous games, it tends to sell less. Through looking at videos of this game, it seems that aside from maybe introducing this kagura, the plot is entirely inconsequential. So if people want to get mad about Jasmine joining in watergun fights and DJ Ryouki, they can be my guest. PBS was made for fun by Takaki while utilizing a bunch of collaboration characters that I'll probably buy too just for dressing room purposes but that's ok. Takaki is literally the only one who wanted this, and that's fine. It's probably going to do well.

Apparently the game had 60% first day sell through. Stepping on it's own toes a bit by stocking it so low. I mean, considering how crappy the game looks, it probably wont have legs but they could at least have read the demand better online.

It looks like the game is doing decently well. Can't wait for the localized version. Can't wait to make all the girls cry. Can't wait for SK7.

We'll get official numbers from mediacreate in like 8 hours. It's number one in the playstation 4 store. So that's something I guess. Dont know why people would get this game digitally. I'm keeping to my 20k prediction. It'd be weird to me many more than that getting this.

Wow, I didnt expect this level. This is kind of ridiculous. It's a freaking watergun game. My only complaint is that the dev time was wasted making this. They better go all out next game. Also Bandai Namco should actually make a straight up Accel World game.

What i dont like about this game is that everything seems to be a freaking copy paste of estival versus... The character models are all the same, the only thing that make characters unique are their "head" part. I mean, the boobs, the legs, the arms... Everything is just the same... They didn't even bothered themselves in making unique intros for each character when the battles start like the other games... Everyone has the same animations, even when they get defeated, it only changes depending in the weapon you selected.... And another thing i dont like its that when you make the "Splash Change "or the ducky attack, no matter what costumes the other character has it will change to a freaking bikini. I guess its selling well because of the good marketing it has.... And obviously the yumi's power....
