That announcement is misleading. Not only is accounting both units shipped and sold but I gave it a look at the original tweet from the Senran Kagura PR account and the actual wording of the announcement is that the game is "likely" to reach 100k units sold/shipped soon. That said, Dengeki Hime is currently the only tracker that still have numbers for PBS and they have the game having just 66k units sold by the end of April. gs.dengeki.com/news/98495/gs.dengeki.com/news/99940/From what I know, digital sales aren't very popular in Japan so I don't believe the game will reach 100k units sold anytime soon. And having 100k units shipped is hardly an accomplishment, that was the amount of units SK2 shipped to begin with.

And having 100k units shipped is hardly an accomplishment, that was the amount of units SK2 shipped to begin with. Not to be rude but it sounds like you're concern trolling hard. You're not really comparing 100k frontloaded units of SK2 shipped which were not bought in the first place to the meted out 100k of PBS? The fact that PBS has not had a price crash proves it's reached stable shipment to sales. They've made money regardless now. The way these games work is that they flash to the top of the charts for the first week and then fall to the bottom. They overstocked on SK2 because they thought that it would do as well as Shinovi Versus despite that game getting the anime. Also the fact that you try your darndest to make it seem like PBS is some big game for the series when it sold more than 50k as a PS4 exclusive on it's first week with no real ad push. The announcement also includes digital sales. So your talk of sounding it being 100k physical units is misleading. The Japanese buy digitally more than westerners, proportionally but not in total. I know this. If what I'm reading in this thread is right, it got 10,000 digitally in the first week. I would not be surprised if it's passed 100k sales in Japan already.

Dengeki Hime has numbers for may gs.dengeki.com/news/101713/PBS numbers? 68333 It only sold 1369 units during May. So yeah, it will take a while to get those 100k units sold.
