This thread is a thread where you can freely talk about the recent episode so please leave if you have not seen it unless you want to be spoiled. I will start it off by saying this is a much better episode then the first and if you played the games you will know the connections. We finally get almost all the players in place and even gramps shows up something those with the games never got to see. The episode is based off one of the drama CD's so thats why it holds up much better then the first episode which was just thrown together with a sneak peak to fill in time in the begining. I still think there needs to be more fanservice because this is below the 3DS level so far and the 3DS was tame by the producers original standards of the series so I would like the full vision. other then that I think it was a great episode and can't wait for the next.

Ikaruga should have snuck off alone while Asuka was trying to speak with Yomi until she left the area, it could've helped or maybe not but they might be in for a fight.
Wave, while more scenes of fanservice is a good idea, a ton of nudity is asking for censorship, I like my anime without the light of evil, obstructions, and stuff, and AT-X isn't airing it uncensored.
Hibari's anime hidden ninpo is better than the 1st hidden ninpo in the games.

Thanks to the anime I'm actually liking Hibari a lot more. Like hoppy said her secret move is a lot better now compared to the games. I always thought her to be quite annoying with the way she always moaned but it's actually coming across as cute in the anime. Katsuragi continues being awesome. I loved it when she pulled out that bunny suit, waved it away as ninja concealment then proceeded to wear the thing. Yagyuu had some really cute moments aswell. There was some fantastic Ikaruga service this week. You can't beat the well mannered Ikaruga getting all flustered and embarrassed. Asuka had some nice moments, her getting violated by a tree frog was quite funny. I thought it was hilarious the first word out of Yomi's mouth was "beansprouts". Suzune's voice plus Kiriya's flashback has me hoping they'll finally resolve that as they didn't do anything with it in the game. It was really strange to see Hanzou considering he was just a voice in the games. I'm glad they're continuing with the awesome eyecatches. i.minus.com/ibarsnAXYLdmf1.jpgi.minus.com/ieSUPDaJGab7i.jpgwave, which drama CD was this in? The first game's on the extra CD?

The first games drama CD there was traning for Asuka to summon the toad and she keep messing up they spent all day doing it only kiriya was not there. After they relaxed with a steam bath and granpa was introduced here as he was being a perv to all the girls like how he did on the second drama CD. Oh and it was because of the drama CD's I did not hate Hibari because I could see she would not play a main part like the others So it would not be as bad as the game where she was basicly princess peach and only a plot device. Hibari is pretty bad ass in Burst though even though those ninpou's are god awful. I do hope she gets big in the anime. Yomi- Oh no I don't mean nudity its just strange that a series know for fanservice does everything to cut out pantyshots. That kinda makes no since as thats so small but I guess its like you said the channel. Still takes me out because its like im watching the edit version. Kinda like how sailor moon was. I never knew that had so many panty shots because I watch the american version. Also Yagyuu's desire for Hibari is much stronger then you think and its basicly Yuri but I guess thats too much too show. I need to see the yagyuu nose bleed.

I'll have to have a listen to those drama CDs one day and possibly even try translating them. I still don't think Yagyuu is all yuri for Hibari. Until I see her nosebleeding or something more concrete I'll still believe that it's just an abundance of "familial" love. It's explained that she sees a lot of her deceased sister in Hibari so she's overprotective as of course she wouldn't want her to die and feel the same loneliness she felt before. That being said, I really don't mind if it really is yuri. Everyone loves a bit of yuri. I mentioned in the general anime thread, I like that they're bringing all the costumes from the game. They had the gym clothes last episode and the animal-sleepwear this week (although you can't see Ikaruga and Yagyuu's as much as the rest). I just remembered they also have the swimsuits: i.imgur.com/NPADl.jpg

But she does if you look back on the first games site and the manga also the producers blog they put it out there it just seems they have dropped it for some reason. Sh has hibari pajama's and hibari themed room. she is such an otaku for hibari. Look at the original games site for some pics.

I saw nothing on the game's site but I saw a number of funny pictures on the blog. I still don't know... I'd really love to see their relationship in that way but I just can't. I'll try to change though.

The anime has really downplayed Yagyuu's love for Hibari; heck, Yagyuu has hardly spoken in the first two episodes. Although, if the anime has Hibari defect, then we'll probably see some of Yagyuu's fire later.
At the very least, the bonus OVAs may provide something.

Yagyuu could be a possessive yandere for Hibari which can or cannot have nothing to do with romance, if one hair off Hibari's head is touched by a foe in an episode, you'll see what horrible things would happen to whoever did it.

Yagyuu has hardly spoken in the first two episodes. Yagyuu hardly ever spoke at all anyway. Even when confronted by Mirai after her injury she didn't speak much to try and get information out of her.

Its important to note that the producer came up with the characters and there themes but wanted a writer to fill in everything else so this may have been changed about her. Original she was played up like loving Hibari and that caught many peoples attention but now they just avoid the subject. You can even see in the early fan art thats what everyone that it was going to be. Now you don't see them together much.
To get back on topic I think the scene with the hebi girls was so powerful and showed a much diffrent side of them one of complete obidence. Too not be able to even look up unless spoke too. Damn they are building Suzune up. I would hope Daidouji is treated the same to show equal power.

Episode 2 was quite good, even if it was lacking in energy. I liked how the story is coming along and looks to finally get moving in the next episode with both a fight with Yomi and dealing with Ikaruga's past. I hope we move past Asuka's summon learning soon and move on to more conflicts and interactions between the girls.
I like the build-up for Suzune. Hopefully we get insight on her and Daidouji's background in future episodes. I'm also happy that they didn't make Hanzou a pervy old-man (though judging from the Episode 3 preview, there's still a chance).
I'm quite surprised by the tameness of the fanservice in this series, at least going by the first two episodes. I'm not complaining, but it does come as a surprise, especially after seeing trailers for Shinovi Versus, heh.
If I have any complaints for this anime so far it would be a distinct lack of energy, at least in comparison to the games and manga. The characters' personalities feel like they're being held back, the music is very relaxed, and the pacing is rather slow. It's not a terrible thing, as it could result in a better executed story than the games and manga, as it allows for good build-up and suspense, and an eventual satisfying conclusion, if executed well, but I think I'd rather have a more high-energy execution similar to the manga.
But, hey, there's only been two episodes, so I'll wait and see if this is just a calm before the storm.

I see I was not the only one suprised by the lack of fanservice. For some reason I thought they would go the Agent Aika way with boobs and panties all over the place but I guess they are going for more suggestive type of fanservice which from what I seen makes for good Gifs at least. But then how suggestive can they get if they are going this way.
Some game music would really help also.

I'm still hoping that the anime will play the character battle themes when the "destined" fights occur; though I won't get my hopes too high, heh.
The music is actually my favorite part of the games.
As far as the fanservice goes, I hope they get more creative later on. There's only so much Katsu-nee and sushi rolls can do before they get old. Heh, some yuri subtext (Yagyuu nosebleeds please) and Daidouji could do wonders right about now.
