I too believe there will not be a big jump because the peak in disks is still Blu-ray and tvs peak is still basically 1080p.
And some/most games on PS3 still don't use its full potential anyway.
I still feel WIIU was Nintendo's console to join the fight against sony microsoft while still keeping its creative/experimental side. As the wii to me never seemed like a rival and more as different style, hence alot of double consoles or atleast in my area.

Why do you make pro nintendo threads when there is no ant- nintendo threads?
You sure you posting this at the right place? not going to get pages here like gaf.

On Blu-Ray, they can just do dual layer (as some have) or quad layer if space becomes an issues. We'd be talking 100gb of space for a game at that rate. 1080p is fine for 99% of human eyes, most games this gen ran at 720p so see no issue there. This whole obsession of specs really means little to me. Every console is ridiculed by PC Gamers because on paper every console is under powered from the day it is released. The PS3 has something like 256mb of RAM when my freaking laptop has 4gb, yet I can tell you my laptop chugs along to play vast majority of AAA titles at medium settings. Point? Wait for the games and see how it plays out. Besides power has never guaranteed victory ass the Wii and Playstation 2 proved in their time.

You tend to make such broad statements sometimes. I've said nothing offensive about nether Sony or Microsoft. I'm just saying that next-gen won't be a huge leap and Nintendo has a chance again. Sure I favor them more because I grew up with them, but that doesn't mean I hate everything else. I guess it's from all the annoying troll comments I hear about how "Nintendo = fail" "Wii U is last gen" "Nintendo should go 3rd party" "Nintendo games are kiddy" and such.

I believe Nintendo should go third party, because we could get even better versions of our beloved franchises, think about it, I would kill for a Sega vs Nintendo smash brothers style game and a true Sony smash game (Playstation All Stars was far too western for me, it didn't set well and I had no clue on 80% of the characters) and guess what with them being 3rd party the chances of this are highly likely. An M rated Zelda game would be nice too, but Nintendo must go third party so games like that can be on systems with a better market for crossovers and M rated games which is the Orbis and Durango.

Im not saying you attacked anyone I said any comment anyone makes can be viewed as an attack. I pretty much call things how i see it and have no horse in this race but if others don't go into the talks like this any thing I or anyone says negative about the company anyone likes people start getting defensive. Thats why I said its getting around that time the start of a new gen when people start getting defensive about any comment made so its really hard to talk about these topics and at the end of the day we should not be mad because they are the ones with all the money they don't need our help.

I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. I'm just gonna take what you said as complete wishful thinking. Nintendo going third party is a pipe dream. It doesn't make any financial sense in the slightest since they're doing so well already. Nintendo going third party (or being in such a position that the decision was forced) would almost certainly be catastrophic for their software output, something that not a lot of hopeful dreamers stop to realize.

It's so easy and tempting to think of all the potential benefits of Ninty going third party (there's so many possibilities) without thinking of the negative implications of the decision. Being a fan of crossovers, this is something I can get prone to, it's a case of the fanbase's dream is the companies' nightmare.

Nintendo going thrid party is now a stupid idea. Maybe before it was good but now not so much the landscape of gaming has quickly changed and and once was something a good idea is now a bad idea.
The age of exlusives are over and if they go third party they lose all there power.

www.examiner.com/article/ps4-and-xbox-720-rumors-enter-silly-mode-with-dueling-power-reportsSo I came across this article detailing how silly these new rumors coming out are starting to sound and how badly they contradict the previous rumor that came before it. In my first post, the rumor that I chose before was the only one that could have had any valid source behind it (AMD executives) and didn't mention any "anonymous" this or "anonymous" that. Now I see one website reporting that the 720 is more powerful than PS4, but I see another website a few minutes later stating the exact opposite, contradicting the first website no less. And again, they were from "anonymous" sources. And then these rumors make the consoles out to be more and more powerful each day without taking price points into consideration, with the teraflops and the 8 gig rams and the 16 core CPUs, the whole thing sounds like a mess. That would put Sony and M$ under the water. This article points out how plum ridiculous these rumors sound, I post this kind of stuff because I enjoy hearing your opinions.

I think people get way too excited on unsubstantiated rumors and seem to desperately want to proclaim "victory" before these consoles are even released.
