Hanzou, Asuka's granfather is a master that is very well known throughout the shinobi realm. Maikaku Special Duty Intel Department's Special Secret Intel Agent. In other words, he's also considered the founder of the shinobi squad.
With the prodigy shinobi's name as the foundation, Hanzou Academy was built for the sole purpose of conditioning future talents in this ancent art.
He is a gennerally friendly person and is very found of his granddaughter Asuka. He is also the provider of the futomaki that Asuka and friends are often seen eating which he prepares in his shop.
Like his grandaughter he has the ability to summon Tree Frogs.
