www.nosub.tv/watch/34305.htmlAn episode comes. No DL streaming Looks like its back to being all over the place the was just waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much going on in this episode they need to either make some episodes to move the story along and little fanservice or episodes with just fanservice and move it with character building because the way they do it makes no since. why is Hanzo a huge part when the teacher is right there? This makes him a usless chharacter in this anime. I guess I should have not expected much out of that fight the manga handeld Ikaruga and Yomi's first battle much better and way cooler. How did Ikaruga make the sword apear but when her brother came to get it was laying around? LOL! there boobs have gotten even bigger in this episode and gramps is a perv.

Yomi using energy blasts from her sword is a surprise to me and Takaki was telling the truth about how the clothing the girls wear is nothing more than an illusionary jutsu.

It was a surprise to me last weak I should have updated her character guide it seems one you reach a high level she gains this ability. Most of all my character testing stuff has been on level 50 not level 1. In the game her simple sword slash makes a wave and you can send out a few depending on your control of the attack speed.

Interesting, it'll probably be in Shinovi Versus as well.

My main problem with the anime, at the moment, is the large presence of Hanzo and Kiriya. As a result of their large presence, and their words of wisdom, the girls don't feel like they're learning themselves, and as a result, end up feeling much more flat and one-dimensional than they should. This is disappointing, since the SK cast is actually quite excellent as shown through the games and manga, but in the anime, they really lack presence and depth.
In order to remedy this, the anime really needs to move past this "training" period and keeping the Hebi girls in background, and actually move forward with the "good vs. evil" conflict and have a LOT more interaction between the girls. If they don't, the girls will continue to feel one-dimensional and look weak in the face of the Hebi girls because they can't learn anything without the help of their teacher and a legendary Shinobi.
Also, the sexually suggestive scene with Ikaruga and Hanzo was terrible and something that should only be in crappy harem anime. Yet another reason why Hanzo and Kiriya need a huge drop in presence, which doesn't look like its happening anytime soon since Kiriya is coming with the girls in next week's episode.
Tch, this anime needs some yuri subtext right away. At least that would get the girls interacting.
On a more positive note, the animation in this episode was pretty good, and it was nice seeing Katsuragi and Ikaruga speaking to each other. Ikaruga's backstory and confrontation with her brother were handled well too, though I wish Ikaruga's realization of what the girls mean to her was handled like in the manga, as it was perfectly simple and sweet there.

You saved me so much time your post is 100% on the mark. The original story was done more Yuri and had way more of the hebi girls. Basicly they are trying to please everyone and will please no one.

I agree that Hanzou has had way too much to do in these first episodes. In the games he was a faceless, perverted old man that dished out words of wisdom once in a while. In the anime he's turned into pretty much the central, main character. Ikaruga's realisation that the girls are very much her family would've come much stronger from one of the girls themselves, but because the wise old man took that the girls seem weak and incapable. Kiriya's presence in the show is on par as the games imo, he is their teacher after all. In fact, he should be the one dishing out helpful advice more than Hanzou! Also, you have to remember that there were hefty novel sections in the game and a number of them were from Kiriya's point of view which developed his character a little: one right before the final battle, Kiriya still haunted by his past was ready to go and help the girls in their attack, even going to a weapons store to get stocked up. I felt that the animation in the fight with Yomi took a massive nosedive. When she performed her lunging attack I wondered how the sword magically swapped hands. I had to step through each frame to see that in the span of 2 frames she released the sword from her right hand, spun a little and held it in her left hand. 2 frames! How they handled Ikaruga's brother's entrance was also a little disappointing. They're trying to push the fanservice aspect of the show too much, the seriousness of the scene was lost when Ikaruga appeared in those clothes. The fanservice elsewhere is perfectly fine, tasteful service like the white garment under the waterfall and just lounging around the ninja room. However when it comes to the actual story I'd like for it to act like the game and manga and be serious, the story is actually really, really good I hate that they're messing it up. I know the anime is its own thing so I shouldn't compare it too much but the story in the manga is handled much better than the anime. I'm glad Asuka's fear of frogs is finally gone, she seems so much weaker because of it so I hope they use that to their advantage and really show her maturation and growth. Hopefully now that this initial "training" bit is out of the way it can move onto the better parts of the story. Like Haruka stealing the girls clothes and getting an underling to sell them on the beach

Like Haruka stealing the girls clothes and getting an underling to sell them on the beach Also agree with this 100% From the POV of a person that never followed the anime or manga this show is pretty bad. If they just made it like you said A slice of life with heavy fanservice lickable characters both good and bad it would have been ok but they decided to keep it close to the source material and that does not work when that was base mostly around the characters and them being connected. I doubt we get that beach scene the bad guys are not even developed and Hikage is going out next. I would cut most of Hanzo and Kiriya's screen time out and add the heni girls in there because this is looking so uneven. Hibari and Yagyuu are usless characters at least the Yuri thing everyone originaly thought was a fun idea but now that its just a big sister thing they are like whatever and they don't get any line. They have yet to show the Yagyuu is extremely strong for a first term student.

I have to agree. For those who know nothing about the games or manga, the anime must come across quite poorly. It's a real shame considering all the anime needed was a better execution. Hopefully things get better soon; hopefully, the whole Secret Scroll/Hibari's Leaving arc starts up soon. On the topic of execution, I wish the anime went with this: A simple execution can really be the best. ----------- Though, I must admit that I'm being rather hard on the anime considering I had some rather high expectations for it; mainly due to how great the manga turned out.

Its ok if you have reasons to back it up there is no reson just because you are a fan you have to love everything. You have to be fare other wise no one would believe you when you do talk about the seriesif you constantly praised everything.
That being said in the Animes defense they have to deal with is this show going to get ratings will we get picked back up for another season. If we don't think we will should we try to get as much done now then wait for later. Alot of things they had to think about.
Maybe they should have just went with an original story and not take bits from all the media.

I've only watched the first fight, couldn't wait, so I probally say more later, but I can already see I'm going to agree with the posts above, not that i'm saying I think the anime is poor or lacking in anyway in fact I love it but it should have followed the mangas development of the characters more, this is making Hanzou girls look weak

What the hell was up with Ikaruga's massage scene? She wanted a punishment SO much (Masochist) and she got it, by Hanzo himself.
