Yeah, Peach Beach Splash was an okay game. First playthrough was really fun. Playing as your favorite anime girl in a third-person shooter was great. The story wasn't too good though. Non spoiler review, it was basically about the seniors (third and fourth year students) contemplating life after the academies (mostly shiki and ikaruga). The only important part was near the end with the setup for 7EVEN (which I'm super stoked for).
Bon Appetit is probably my least favorite in the series. Well, to be fair, it probably has the best soundtrack in the series, especially the vocal tracks, but the gameplay was quite boring, It was a simple rhythm game (actually quite difficult because of certain *ahem* distractions) and the final dishes with the characters were all poorly named and didn't resemble the actual dishes.
I'm super excited for the 7EVEN though, and replaying Burst Renewal during the wait.
I get that feeling. I have anxiety and such as well granted Discord doesn't ever really seem to flare it up for me but that's just me like I said. Granted on the topic of this place being barren, I was admittedly hoping to maybe see bout finding if there were still active people here in regards to RP. I heard there was some traction here.
EDIT: Also apologies for taking so long, I don't get any notifs if people are speaking regarding my posts so...woops?

Apparently the game is released (or part of it anyways). TanneroftheNorth is really great Senran fan. He doesn't play it for the fanservice, he actually gets into the story and characters and knows a lot about the skills and movesets. Here's his first video in case you're curious.

Did someone say Introvert? Fellow lurker and sometimes I might stretch myself to acctually post something The reason for the quietness might have something to do with discord and also no news on a new game as of yet or it maybe something else, just picking stuff out of the air xD. Love the Kagura series btw ^^

Yeah frankly I enjoy the games for more their combat. I find that the faster more aerial combat is more entertaining then most Musou series beyond Senran Kagura. As for characters, its hard to not love most of the cast, why it bugs me when people say I only play the games for fanservice.

Mm, I feel that. I will admit I played the first game out of morbid curiosity due to being aware of the excessive fanservice, but I frankly consider the fanservice a novelty of sorts that quickly fades away. If the series offered nothing of interest to me except the fanservice, I would likely never have played any game beyond Burst. I stuck with the games because I find the plot interesting and most of the characters genuinely well written and engaging. Thus you can easily assume why I really do not care for releases like Reflections, Peach Beach Splash and the pinball game.
...Can't say I stick around for the combat though, haha...
Its all really chalked up to personal tastes, I enjoy the combat and characters to be honest. It's why writing stuff like Senran RPs and fics in general, I find it fun to do that kinda thing, along with make your own characters
Yeah, I love the world building they add in each game, especially burst re:newal with the hidden scrolls that explain more about the shinobi world, schools, and even some of the enemies. Also, if you buy the individual songs in Ayame's shop, each one has a description about why it was written and how it fits to pieces of the story. This game appears shallow on the surface, but if you really get into it, you can discover so many things (even more basic ones like how Katsuragi's boots and Yozakura's gauntlets are actually a set).
But I really enjoy each character's personality and gameplay. This game to me is like DOA or streetfighter to others. You just get really into the backstories, the world, and every character. IDK, there's just something about this shinobi world that always brings me back (it's not the bewbs I swear, though nobody believes that). It's got great gameplay, stories (main and character), outstanding music, lore, enemies, and yes fanservice. Basically, it has everything I want in a game.

Although, and I know im insisting about this a lot, i just find it kinda interesting and I'm a massive fan of this kinda thing. The Senran Kagura community has a really small RP community as least from my side of things.
This doesn't have anything to do with conversation but it's something. Thought I'd do something just to show Senran Kagura some love by playing Burst Re:Newal.
I did a hard, no damage, star A rank run with Asuka, no specials or transformations, against Orochi. I really wanted to do a level 1 run to up the difficulty but none of my characters are level 1 and I don't feel like starting the game over again just to do that, plus the characters never stay at the level and tend to level up during the fight so there's that. I also wish we could disable the attack indicator from the enemy.
Re:Newal is still a fun game, but out of the Versus series I think I still prefer Estival. Not that Re:Newal is bad, but it doesn't bring much to the table, even scrapping online, which is unfortunate. I do enjoy the new mechanics though, a lot more than Estival. They incorporate stuff like instantly falling to the ground after inputting a 3rd jump and guarding/parrying in the air is a very nice touch, it makes traversing levels a lot of fun with certain characters, specifically Kagura: Use 3 rapid air dashes, guard cancel, 2 rapid air dashes, heavy attack to the ground, guard cancel it into a jump and then repeat it, unfortunately a lot of the stages have been reduced in size from Estival so there's not much use for the speed, but it's still fun.
The gameplay tweaks to some of the girls is also appreciated, which only makes me wish it had online to play against other players or do co-op with them to see how they stack up against each other, BUT a lot of girls and gameplay mechanics still need work because a lot of Asuka's moves don't work...the AI just falls out of her level 2 ninpo and you waste 2 bars because of it and her aerial strings for her level 3 don't work at all. As much as I love Miyabi, and she is nerfed from her Estival counterpart, her projectiles are still too powerful, you can slice bosses down like a knife through butter.
Taunting is broken and needs to be reworked so that you can only taunt a handful of times or have it so that it only gives you meter like in Estival because in Re:Newal it leaves the AI completely brain dead, mobs and bosses alike, they will literally just stand there and let you kill them; Kagura using a taunt on top of her charge heavy attack in a group of enemies will fill the Burst meter like you're pouring water into it, unleash that, powered by frantic, and you can clear an entire mob or boss on any difficult in one sweep, making the challenge practically non-existent, and since the game has been reduced in scale you can power through the story in less than 30 minutes, each chapter taking a few seconds to get done until you reach about chapter 4 or 5, your level 3s won't one shot them from that point on but you can still leave them completely helpless by taunting.
Really hoping we hear about 7Even soonish. I'd like 7even to introduce abilities we can equip at will like in Kingdom Hearts: EXP Zero, aerial recovery and so on, or give us the ability to put our characters back at level 1 like in NieR: Automata with the Forbidden Fruit item. If this is to be the finale of the Versus saga, I truly believe after this Takaki-san is done with the series because of Sony, then I want to see online make a return with a bit more focus on co-op modes, character balance(Estival was horribly unbalanced reducing the roster to Kagura, Naraku, Miyabi, Kanu, Ayane and Ikaruga if you wanted to win) and to give the schools equal spotlight, I get that the series main character is Yumi now but c'mon, let the Crimson Squad get out of their comic relief dungeon, give respectful closure to the Hanzo girls growth and independence and...give Miyabi something. ANYTHING. Sure, she's a top tier character gameplay wise but that's a design oversight. My girl gets nothing unless it's an accident and I'm tired of it!
Lol. I said this had nothing to do with conversation, originally just posting the videos, but here I am writing all this nonsense.
