Also Iwata may be stepping down if all these new plans don't pay off and they can't make 1 billon in a year. News story should be everywhere.
I see people talking and saying why woulld he leave and thats simple someone inside does not like him. He's the one holding Nintendo back from not pulling a Sega but they want to pull a Sega anyway.

Believe it when I see it, but good that Nintendo recognizes they have options to try and push the system forward as 2013 will be defining year for the handheld market.

Let me join in. Rune Factory 4 when? Already confirmed for the summer. Good to hear them trying to work and help publish some more stuff, it can only turn out good for them. As for Iwata possibly stepping down, yeah it's pretty obvious that some investor just wants to see him gone. Which by the way is completely stupid after all the successes and money he's made them from the DS to the Wii to the 3DS. I can all but guarantee you that this is some dumbass investor who wants them to go all in to iOS and basically destroy their hardware business as well as their software quality in exchange for a quick spike in revenue. Said idiot investor will then sell out and the company will be left with the consequences. This is why investors should stay the hell out of decision making. They don't care about the long term well being of companies, nor their employees.

A strictly Mobile gaming market will lead to gaming's demise, the investor is full of wrong. Nintendo makes good hardware, just everyone needs to give it some time. Also, another dead franchise has been revived for the 3DS this time. www.siliconera.com/2013/01/30/ninjas-vs-catfish-in-a-game-made-by-hamster/That makes two revived franchises for 2013, wonder what else Sony and Nintendo can revive.

If you're talking 3DS, it's already doing terrific. I mean, it basically own Japan's gaming scene in terms of sales. As for the WiiU, I really don't know what they were expecting. But regardless, I really don't put much in to this whole Iwata stepping down thing. Seems like more crappy gaming 'journalism' spreading sensationalist news to get more hits. Don't feed it. Anyone with common sense would realize that since he was put in place that things have been improving for them. Like I said, they almost have a monopoly on the Japanese gaming scene since Sony has been bombing and Xbox shouldn't even exist in Japan.

My views on Iwata is from a gaming stand point he is the best there is in his field EVER. But as someone that need to know about the industry and stuff like new hardware and tech he is pretty bad and this is were the problem lies.
From a game POV he has brought in more creative ideas ever for nintendo in such a short time and took risk on many smaller games that only he understud because of his backround this was his great strength when he came in but his biggest weaknes has always been on the tech side of things. His inability to adapt to the market is what got him in this place because he got use to the market adapting around his moves and it does not always work like this. So nintendo still has the worst online weak consoles gimmicks that hurt the system in some way. Its to much now the hole is too deep to dig out of and they have to now make HD games while they make Sega and Namco richer because they have no choice but to partner up.
meanwhile the investors are thinking well he did all the work and gave use all these new brands and games we can use these for years we don't need him, so in the end they will try to get rid of him.
Iwata should have been pushed for the single console after the wii. Now they are facing all the HD problems billion dollar non gaming companies had to face and they have 2 systems.
But like Someone posted on another forum Iwata will fail because nintendo had money in the form of there entire gaming libray on both Eshops but they still put out 2 games a month. Someone does not want money and if Iwata is the one that made this move then I can see why they want him gone.
I doubt many would cry if Iwata left and the next day all Nintendo NES,SNES,N64,GB,GC,GBA etc.. was on the eshop. people would lose there mind. So much money right there.

Honestly if Ninty did really step up into helping developers bring some of their Japanese 3DS titles to the USA, it would really make the 3DS the more dominating handheld system in the USA. Plus the 3DS is already dominating hand held systems in Japan ain't it? In other words Ninty can make a lot of monies from us and those hidden otakus/lurkers in the west.

Good for gamers not good for nintendo because those will never be the games they need to push the 3DS sales wise. 3DS needs a full eshop overhall and Nintendo really needs to work with western ios devs to get those games on there system for the same price. while offering retail DL at a dicount price. Basicly the need to understand how online business is done in the moblie world now. The games and system cost to much in the west. Japanese model of things can not be used in the west. Im sad because all this means I will never see Fzero or Advance wars again form nintendo.
