Well that was the best episode so far. It goes over to the burst side mainly mission 2-10 from burst is where this episode is based off.
I won't spoil much until 30 minutes after I put the episode up but this is what I was talking about more focused and character based. I was way into the episode then the end theme came NOOOOO!

Training as Hebi seems as brutal as it was depicted in the manga (the school surroundings were even more dreadful), and the students were less faceless mooks as you got to see their faces. I wonder if the girl who attacked Homura was the little sister of you-know-who...
I was thrilled to see some more scenes with Rin, and the episode focusing on Katsuragi's past was a good thing. Otherwise, still not enough action, the fight between was good and emotional on Asuka's side but still a little short.
As usual, can't wait for the next episode ! as the anime seems to be changing some events from the game, I wonder if the Hebi girls will succeed to pull back from Hanzo with both the scroll AND Hibari ;D

I don't think they will go with the Hebari thing because its not enough time to do all that I don't think. The story is making jumps all over the place now.
I'm at least glad this episode focused on all the girls and left out Hanzo and Kiriya for the most part. Also no suggestive scenes where in this episode.
Ya I think the action is quick because who every they got to work on this does not really do or understand action that much.
How many damn times is Ikaruga going to lose...

I have to wait for subs to fully understand it but have they changed things yet again? I got from that episode that Hebijou already have one of the scrolls and are aiming to get the other one from Hanzou... It was nice to see it focus on Hebijou, Yomi in the bath made me laugh constantly talking about beansprouts. Which reminds me, I like how each ninja barrier is themed. Yomi's has beansprouts floating around, Homura's is themed after feudal Japan, etc. It was strange to see Homura take out just one of her swords. I thought they were going to mess up the story even more by having her pull out that single sword and turn into Guren Homura. But then she pulled out the other 5 so I was relieved. It was nice to see Katsuragi's past get a bit of exposition but again it came at a different time in the story. I guess next week will feature Yagyuu's as her situation feels like it's building up to her remembering the past, getting a bit of power then overpowering Mirai to go to Hibari's aid. Looks like she has a tiny arm I'm getting more disappointed each week...

I think Ikaruga's losing on purpose, either because she's buying time for the other girls and/or she probably enjoys the beatdown Yomi gives her, now I understand Katsuragi losing because Hikage is much stronger right now than she is, but Ikaruga should be able to put up a better fight against Yomi. Mirai finally used Valkyrie, like it will do any good right now, Yagyuu pretty much is going to win the fight next episode.

I wonder if it's Ikaruga refraining from going all out against Yomi (recalling the bit about 'I don't want to kill you' from the manga). But I think it conflicts with my image of the serious iinchou... on the other hand, the anime has already tried its best to wreck Ikaruga's image by making her the target of useless/ridiculous fanservice, and not being able to resolve the conflict with her brother by herself. I'm at least glad this episode focused on all the girls and left out Hanzo and Kiriya for the most part. I was really disappointed to spot Hanzo and Kiriya in next week trailer. Well, at least Kiriya I can understand as the anime made the choice of increasing Rin's role in the story, but I really hope Hanzo won't appear for more than a few seconds... For what I could understand from 2ch topics these past weeks, reactions on 2ch seems to be mitigated in Japan too; BD/DVD preorders seems to be disapointing. Well, it didn't prevent me to do my duty, I already preordered the first two BD

The fact that the BDs aren't selling is very bad news, oh well while it won't get a S2, I can at least have a full set of BDs on my shelf and I'm also getting Vividred Operation which is doing better and might get a S2.

If Marvelous keeps on producing new games and the sales are satisfying, a second series may not be impossible in several years, preferably from another animation studio. I do believe Artland is the problem here, as I don't think SK is their type of shows (and to be precise, in spite of all its shortcomings I do like the anime so far ^^ ).

A different studio would be nice, but yeah if merchandise sells then a second season may come like with Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, the BDs for season 2 didn't sell whatsoever, but the merchandise sold in droves which is why it's getting a third season.

Shinovi versus preorders seems to be pretty good, going by the fact that the LE are unavailable in several places, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Now, we have to see how the next game after SV will go (I'm hoping for a simultaneous SK 2 game/anime ). For the time being, I think it's pretty ironic to see Arms on Maoyuu and Artland on SK; the roles should have been reversed, maybe (on the other hand, I think Arms is unable to produce an anime with a good plot, so maybe not).

Arms tends to sacrifice story for near endless fanservice, Queen's Blade is a good example, it would've upped the preorder rankings a lot though.

I think it's doubtful they'd go with another studio, Artland animate all of the openings for the games so I think they'd want to keep a good partnership with them. Rather than the studio I think it's the director that should change. The director makes or breaks it. Dog Days season one was fantastic. Despite the plot being standard it was well done and extremely enjoyable. For the second season they got some guy who directed a bunch of romance shows so it was focused pretty much entirely on Cinque's relationships. There was no plot and it was just a mess and extremely boring. I just hope the third season is better.
The guy who directs this show I have no idea what he's done before
