So, I'm new to the series, I ended up liking the story of Burst Re:Newal, which surpassed my expectations for the game, I'm currently doing Hebijo side story with Homura and the others, finished Hanzo (However I didn't fully understand the ending because I'm slighty stupid, I will replay the final boss).
Thing is, I searched a bit online but I can't seem to find a reliable way to follow up the story, or maybe, not the best one.
If I'm not wrong, Burst is a more complete version of Skirting Shadows/Portrait of Girls (not even sure if SS and PoG are the same, correct me if I'm wrong), then we have Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, which I think it comes after Burst? However, other people say that there are multiples universes or something like that, so I'm not sure what is canon and what not.
Should I follow Deep Crimson story or skip to Shinovi Versus? Is Shinovi Versus and the others that follow canon? (I think it comes Estival Versus and Peach Beach Splash).
Also I'm curious about the anime and manga, I'm not sure what role they play here, if they tell the same story but animated, or maybe they add some detail? I watched Danganronpa The Animation to complement that game's story for example, but it wasn't really worth it aside of watching the characters "alive", they skipped lots of details of the story and added little to nothing.
I also found some inconsistencies in data,
This one is not very relevant, but it bothers me a bit:
Katsuragi, Hibari, Ikaruga, etc birthdates are consistent, however I did found 3 different birthdays for Asuka, one on May 8th (which I thought it was the real since it was the first I did read on a preview manga, Source ), another one in Sept 8 (which I think is the (updated?) one, found in the Peach Splash site: Source ), and finally one in august in a fandom wiki that I won't bother linking because it doesn't have a source. Is there a reason for this? Or is that they weren't sure what date to use and ended up with Sept 8 as the final one?
Another thing that is more relevant, is a question I have about different school modes in Burst Re:Newal, I thought that changing schools just changes the perspective of the story, but... I'm not sure about it, because in the Hanzo school Asuka meets Homura when a thief stoles 500 yen from Asuka and Homura recovers the wallet, but in Hebijo Homura meets Asuka in a spring-like place, which is a lot different from the Hanzo school, is this canon? or a alternate timeline?
Well, as you can see, I'm pretty much confused, I have a idea of where I'm standing, but that's all, I'm not sure how story works here and I would like to understand a bit more of what's going on.
Thanks!
