Here is something I'd like to share about my main Homura. I'm not a native speaker so if there is anything hard to understand plz tell me.
Generally speaking Homura is an all-around character, she is fast and very good at close combat. The dash and air dash distance are both average. The endurance is also nothing special. But she indeed has some edge that makes her one of the high tier characters.
Moves that can be used in all three modes:
cross-slash with the six katanas, can be dash canceled and crushes guard
(Hold) cross-slash propelling strike, launches the opponent into the air if it connects, mainly used to attack in mid distance or attack if an opponent pays no attention to you
Air Very good air combat tool, has some homing property, very useful after air dash, you can perform air >air dash repeatedly to move fast in the air.Air dash>air >air is very useful to crush the super armor of those high-endurance characters and force them to ukemi, as long as they use ukemi the super armor will be gone for several seconds.
Dash> can also be used repeatedly on the ground, it is especially useful against high-speed characters, dash has invincinbility frames and can be used to dodge attack, and then the can be connected easily. But if your opponent is good at just guard I suggest not use this too often.
When you launches an oppounent into the air and using aerial combo, if you think they will use limitbreak, you can dash backward immediately and do one or two air to stay in the air, then dash forward to use for some additional damage.
Sen mode:
Command list
The fastest launcher is ,,. Sen is a defensive mode so in this mode try every possible way to gain scrolls is the best choice. The air combo can be canceled by jump ,, for some extra damage.
,,,,(hit repeatedly) is useful to gain scrolls when facing a group of minions.
Yang mode:
Command list
This is an attacking mode. The fastest launcher is ,. has two hits, the second hits can be canceled by dashing. Dash cancel mixed with launcher is very useful in close combat and chasing opponents.
,,, seems to be a 360-degree launcher, as it is relatvely slow I suggest using it by inputting the s in advance and attract your opponent to enter the range of the last hit.
,,,,,hit repeatedly This move reminds of the 360Y of the fire claws in bayonetta lol, it has very good rance and build meter quite fast, sadly it is too slow to be used against players.
Yin mode:
When the 1.01 patch is releasd I'll try this mode. Currently many players agree that Yin mode and Dash Cancel Dash must be ignored for more interesting matches.
Hiden Ninpo 1 Though the damage is average, the speed and range of this ninpo is amazing. This is best used in ripping-off clothes mode or after dash cancelling. The downside of this move is it is useless against airborne opponents, if others double jump and air dash this can't hit anything.
Hiden Ninpo 2 KURENAI! I especially love this move but I have to admit that this move isn't so useful. If your opponent keeps on running you can't hit anything. This is best used when your opponent is grounded or hit the wall, then you transform into Guren no Homura and use jump ,. In this case it is very hard for them to escape.
Zetsu Hiden Ninpo The Chou Hiden Ninpo in Senran Burst, rarely got the chance to use this, it indeed has amazing damage and earn points easily but personally I prefer five hiden ninpo 1 LOL. After this move Homura will also keep in Guren no Homura form for around ten seconds.(Completely invincible for 10 seconds, but can only walk so if your opponent is fast enough it is impossible to hit them in this form)
