Just watch the whole video and you will understand, don't forget to comment. You kinda answer your own question with this video. Maybe instead of using a video from someone on Youtube all the time, you explain your point of view as well? As for the topic: I'm pretty sure the industry will crash a lot sooner then 5 years after everything that's happened to Sega, EA and now Square Enix. If people think the Wii U is "abysmal" in sales, I don't want to see the reactions over PS4 and NextBox. Also, your last video is labeled as "private." So I couldn't watch it.

You kinda answer your own question with this video. That's what I had to name the thread, genius. I found this video and thought the guy made some valid points about the industry. And knowing me, I'd love to share some valid points with you guys, this still is technically a gaming related board after all.

Listed your point of views and opinion instead of the videos or with the video if you thought it would stress your point of view better. It was merely a suggestion since no one but me commented on this thread. As for your topic, LucasArts just had it's doors closed. That's another publisher/developer added to an already long list of "dead" companies.

I agree with jack form your own opinion and don't use youtube links. Like he said there is a reason why no one commented.

I think the model of success needs to be re-evaluated. Square-Enix had three games sell over a million copies, one (Tomb Raider) in just a month and all three weren't declared disappointing. That is insane to me when old days a game could sell 100K and be hailed.
I think more emphasis needs to be placed on gameplay and ideas and less on throwing money at graphics in desperate desire to go for broke against the Call of Duty model. If we can find a mid market then should be fine, if not I see more and more studios living year to year and many going out of business.
I will say I think mobile gaming could go through an 80s scenario in next 5-10 years of bubble built on few good games and sea of crap leading to crash as people get fed up with low quality.
On console front I think two consoles is what the market can bear, and something will give next gen between the big three. On handhelds I think a dominant and secondary system is best case scenario, with more likely Sony leaving that arena after Vita. This will be interpreted as gloom, but if we had two strong consoles and a strong handheld we'd be in a 90s situation, only better.

This will be interpreted as gloom, but if we had two strong consoles and a strong handheld we'd be in a 90s situation, only better. Mobile market eliminated the mid level. Mobile market advanced to fast. In my use of the wold mobile I include handheld. AAA games are not the enemy like people say and they are needed to maintain the old system of box and TV and sitting in front of TV and Box to play a game when in our life now we do not need to do this for most things, If you take out the exlusivity of AAA titles then any game can be ported to any platform with a few changes and this would elliminate the box and TV model and then you would have your crash. people may not want to hear the truth but that market is needed and it needs to stay exclusive to console only. Once exlusivity is lost there is no getting that back as you can see by many games that tried to go multiplatform only to fail because there was no fanboys also buying the product just to support there companies and brand regardless of quality or product.
