I'm still not sure on that game. Be sure to write your opinions.

Personally, when it comes to a game I'm not sure about, I usually do some research of the game and the series and then look up some gameplay videos.

I do suggest new players to the series to skip Neptune PP and wait for Re:Birth 1. I bought the JPN version and have regret it since. Heck, I'd rather go for the Love Live game if it was announce sooner.

I strongly suggest continue enjoying the series with MK2 and V. Who knows how long it will take for Re; Birth 1 to get localize. There's also Noire's game and Re; Birth 2 to look into. If you really like the cast then you can enjoy PP to the fullest. =)

I guess I could just wait and see what IGN (or equivalent) thinks?

Personally, I also think you shouldn't let reviews decide if you should get the game or not since they're just opinions. Also, when it comes to Japanese games, IGN is really biased about them.

That gives me an idea for a thread. Ive noticed this from time to time and it bugs me especially since the games are niche. Ive seen and cringed at the criticism Japanese games take in the industry and there doesn't seem to be any reason for it. In fact, Ive noticed bias from IGN on certain Nintendo 3rd party exclusives (not talking Lost World).

I enjoy Game Informer, but it is not lost on my that only two staff members voice support for Japanese or niche titles. Hence when they vote for "Best Games of E3" and go on and on about "Titanfall" I know there is a disconnect between what they look for in games and what I do. Why I go to Siliconera and stopped going to IGN, they cater to my tastes instead of hyping another FPS I'll never play.

Dude, IGN always give Sonic games low scores because they think the controls sucks when in reality it's them that suck at playing.

Dude, IGN always give Sonic games low scores because they think the controls sucks when in reality it's them that suck at playing. It is a unique aspect of gaming that one needs skills. Anyone can watch a film, but to complete a game is not always possible (keep in mind reviewers lack any sort of guide if stuck). I think this is why the more linear hand holding model of main stream games came into being, with the glowing approval of the industry media. Personally know what I like so if Sonic Generations gets a 6 for example then new Sonic gets a 6 from them I will enjoy it.

Poor HDN thread what have I done! In my view the best way to get a review on something is it being given by a fan as if you want to know about a game you want to know what's good about and why the fans are fans then decide for yourself if the list positives out way the negatives given. We all like games for a different reason. For me its kind of like this: 1st characters themselves 2nd their interactions, 3rd the story, 4th the humour, 5th how unfair (unnecessary difficult) it is, 6th the graphics (as in above ugly) and 7th the gameplay Of course these are within reason if the gameplay just doesn't work or is terrible, annoying or frustrating then of course it trumps the rest but once it works to 7th it goes. All it was I really like the HDN characters so far but these types of games aren't my thing or at least don't seem to appeal and I wanted to know why do people like them and what are you actually doing. So I come away with a different point of view. I didn't like fighting games until I played DOA:D and got into them now I've played a few, same with anime games til Senran Kagura. PP won't get in the way of anything I won't be getting day 1 or anything but I do like to list a to get list. Plus I do like to get peoples buy in, like when asked about red I think I just wanted an army of people saying "get her, get her right now!"

Sorry this is off topic too. Here's how i see it i have no problem with them not liking the game but i do have a problem with them when they start to insult the fans of the games that what makes me mad. And me myself don't even read reviews anymore i do research on the games myself and come to a conclusion if i will like it or not. XP
And for the idol game i'm not sure myself if i will get it or not i might get it just to support the Neptunia games over here. XP
