this is gonna be the most anticipated Dynasty Warriors stream to date!! with the series developments theres no telling what two games they will reveal next! also considering people speculate Samurai Warriors 5, there is also the mystery whether SW5 would be a part of the stream or reserved for a standalone announcement, meaning there could be TWO new Dynasty Warriors games to be revealed. at least one of them could be a huge deal.

there are no details about SW, so its gotta be two DW brand new games. also platforms are unknown though at least one of them gotta be on PS4. also thankfully portable gaming is no longer mainstream, so it can't be a 3DS nor Vita game, which would be underwhelming. Switch is portable but also counts as console first. and PS5 could get a DW, though crossgen makes sense at this point to optimize profits cause PS5 market alone can't sell a game high enough until PS5 gets price drops and catches up with PS4's numbers, UNLESS the new DW is PS5 exclusive and really makes use of the hardware to have very significant graphics and framerate improvements.
so one DW could be crossgen, and the other current gen. Switch gets musou games related to 1st party series, and DW/SW have proven to sell less on nintendo platforms, so I think if a DW is going to Switch, it would be multiplatform. it could be DW9 PS5 edition and DW9 Empires. I think its still early to be announcing a DW10. DW9 complete edition is basically the XL edition of this era, so the natural next step would be an Empires.
and milking DW9 on PS5 would be ok, though the graphics and framerate would have to really be attention grabbing.
now a DW spinoff (Empires are not spinoffs, they are basically a traditional "Create/shape your Dynasty Warriors world" series.)
would be debatable, like DW:GS really wasn't impressive, neither was Strikeforce and SW:SoS. those concepts aim too low and focus on much fewer characters, which really conflicts with musou series principles and enforce the fact that life isn't just about one or a couple of people. everyone matters. so think narrative heavy musou games that focus on one or a handful of characters, is really not musou enough to draw in more demographics and tastes, UNLESS if it were like a character creation thing like Empires and roleplaying RTK games do things, though still if it doesnt follow the DW, RTK or Empires style, it risks being too linear and less options than what other formulas provide.
so yea who knows. I think one DW may be a standardized DW while the other could be experimental. though the series really can't afford to backpedal from DW9's breakthroughs. so think the next two DW games could be the last DW9 era games before DW10 is developed. so a DW9Empires and perhaps a PS5 DW9 with more characters and scenarios added on top of what the complete edition has, would make sense.
DW9 achieved Greatest Hits, so it sold very well to be confident in the formula and refining it further.
it really is intense subject because this month reveals will determine if the tradition of developing DW Empires games will continue. Empires can bring out more of DW9's potential. and a lot of Empires fans can't fathom DW9 era going through without an Empires. though perhaps DW9 could be the first era where Empires may evolve into a new brand, depending on how orthodox and unorthodox its game design is and how it fuses DW9 components with Empires aspects.
though what is sure is that character creation itself will bring in A LOT of interest to it.
also Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire is n PS3 PSN Store! crossbuy playable on PS3 and PSP.
and Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, 7 Empires an I think 8 Empires are still on ps3 psn store, great treasures to have
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII especially with Fame and Strategy pack is greatest game in that series, though RoT3K IV is a masterpiece ahead of its time with male and female character creation, great portraits selection and even LIVE ACTION scenes here and there!
