To be fair, Manabu Aoi has done pretty well penning the Guren no Hebi manga, considering the Burst game didn't exit as a model to follow when he started working. It won't stop me from buying volume 3 of Hebi manga next month !
It's still sad news, especially as the Shoujotachi no shinei is still on hiatus, which means actuality will be pretty calm on the western SK manga front.

Are those the last chapters of that series? I don't get how you drop something in the middle. If they did not like the series or characters why pick it UP? and why would the Manga have character development when all that is saved to sale games?
Don't know what they expected, I haven't had high hopes for anime or manga today like I did way back in the day.

The manga is still ongoing in Comics Rex AFAIK, and volume 3 should be released this summer. Ironically, of the two works featuring the Hebijo Girl the Burst game does a much better job at character development than the Guren manga. The evolution of Ikaruga and Yomi relationship is incredible; characters such as Hikage, Mirai, Haruka or Hibari are drastically different and improved. There are plenty of 'new' interactions (Homura and Yagyu....). The balance between comedy and seriousness is probably the strongest of the series. The only downgrading is the relationship between Homura and Asuka, because it is less central to the plot in Burst. Manabu Aoi is above all a doujinshika. Not sure he has a lot of professional works under his belt apart fot Hebi and a Lucky Star comics.

Aw bleep. This makes me sad. As the only other source of SK goodness for me, now what am I gonna do. (No next-gen consoles, so I have no option for playing any of the games.) Watched the anime, manga was the only other resource left to me. And out of the three, I was enjoying Guren no Hebi. Not just because it was the only one still coming out.
Blast.

Lucky you. I would have prefered to stay at the anime or the manga. Less emotionnal angst this way

It's more for the Shoujotachi no shinei manga you should be worried ;p

Shame, but it is their prerogative.

It's more for the Shoujotachi no shinei manga you should be worried ;p Since that manga is getting an official localization, it isn't really an issue. Hopefully if it sells well enough Guren no Hebi will get localized too.

That's a good point. All we can do is wait and see. Hope for the future. (If SnS got picked up, wonder if that means Spark might as well?)

I'd hope all of them eventually, have to gauge success of initial run though.
