Chapter 2 - The night before my first date in the park
No good... I'm unable to sleep.
It appears my heart is ablaze as soon as I start to think about tomorrow. I had turned over and over in my futon, resembling a person writhing in pain. Hibari's adorable voice echoes inside my head.
"Yagyuu, wanna take a walk through the park tomorrow?"
Me getting invited by Hibari. Invited to the park at that, the classic spot for
a date.
"Mh?"
I opened my eyes and raised my hand to my nose.
What, nose bleeding?!
I reached out for the tissue I had put near the bed.
Kh. What am I getting excited at?
Propping the tissue into my nose, I let loose a slight sigh. In the first
place, this is no such perverse thing as a date. We are just two new students,
and we don't know each other well. That's what you thought about when you said "let's become friends and go play together."
Nothing more, nothing less. Getting to know your comrades better is among the most essential things during a life at an academy. Well done, Hibari. After all, you didn't get my attention for nothing. You know what it means to be a student.*
And thus, without fail, we must strengthen our bonds tomorrow. This has turned into a grand mission. And in order to complete it successfully, a sufficient amount of sleep will prove vital.
But even so, when I try to close my eyes, all kind of thoughts enter my mind. Rather than falling asleep, I'm becoming more and more awake.
No point in trying then. If I can't sleep, let's go through tomorrow's preparations again.
First... the handkerchief. Among the essential things you need when you go out, this is the most important one. Not to forget Hibari might have hay fever.
Alright, let's run a simulation in my head.**
"Yagyuuu~~, my nose is all dripping!"
"Leave it to me, Hibari. Use this to blow your nose!"
*sniff*
Did a lot come out?
"Hehe. Thank your, Yagyuu~! I loo~~ve you!"
... Mm. Flawless plan. No complaints.
Next, the medication. An amusement park may be a fun place, yet the danger is always present as well. To prevent any thinkable accident from happening, it is imperative to run a simulation.
"Owww! I tripped over, Yagyuuu~~!"
"Hibari, worry not. Here. Use my self-made salve."
"Wooh! You can even make medicine! Sugoii~~~!"***
... Mm. Perfect plan. Without any room for errors.
Hibari should not like powdered medicine. Thus I only prepared children's medicine, the kind that tastes like sweet syrup. And to be prepared even for the unlikely, I've got the tools needed to perform a simply surgery ready as well.
Finally, I also organized a mat for sitting, a hand towel, as well as barley
tea**** and fruit juice. With this much preparation, there should be no problems.
When we arrive at the amusement park, I need to keep my eyes wide open. Make
sure no rowdy and their likes get close to Hibari. And even when it comes to
these costumed freaks there, I must not let my guard down either.
......hmm?
Not good!
From outside the window, the bird's chirping reached my ears.
