Now that I think about it.. It's somewhat relieving that XSeed was already working on it before they announced it. And am glad to be getting it very soon this year and not next year. But man if they release in October... we're gonna have issues because Pokemon ._.

Which is a bad strategy move. I'd say release it around the middle of September since not a lot of games are coming out around that time.

Which brings to an important question especially going off recent situations. If a release in September was just not possible would you prefer Xseed to wait for an appropriate date or just release it when ready, also would it affect your decision if a previous earlier date had been given but was going to be pushed back to this more appropriate date?

I'd rather they release when they are ready instead of a release date. Don't want to hurt the quality of the game now do we? Also when I mentioned Pokemon I didn't mean it as an financial issue.(my pre-order was paid off long ago) more like which will I play more or start first you know? Though somehow I will hold off Pokemon if Burst is released a lil after Pokemon.

Selfishly I want it as soon as it is 100% done and ready. 2. However, if it helps the game's chances of success I understand picking a launch window where it is not overshadowed so badly. I am surprised they went with Fall as that is easily busiest time, but guess it came down to logistics.

Pokemon is a mondial brand since it came out in 1983, while SK is now maistream only in Japan. Also Pokemon has no problem for localization, the date is international (the game is released in JP, NA and EU the same day ) and Burst is just the first SK game that will release. So please, don't compare Pokemon and SK, because it's a totally different situation of releasing.

What's really mainstream in Japan are hunting games like Monster Hunter, but I digress.

Pokemon (Black & White) still managed to sell around 7M of units in Japan only. Between X&Y and MH4, Nintendo gonna be a killer this fall in Japan. SK is now maistream only in Japan. The series is absolutely not mainstream, anywhere. Regarding SKB release, Hatsuu post on tumblr is probably a good reading : hatsuu.tumblr.com/post/55401774233/why-video-games-take-so-long-to-publish

Speaking of Hatsuu, he tweeted about SKB and the SIA twitter wrote to him. It would be a good way to show your appreciation by responding and/or retweeting our tweet:

As somebody formally studying game design, it's always interesting to get insider perspectives on the various facets of making and releasing games.
