'Gatchaman Crowds' - a group of superheroes, and the new rookie who get told on her first day to don't ask questions, to keep at shooting aliens and let her superheroine identity stay secret... and who then decides to give the middle finger to the rules and do things her own way. Kenji Nakamura's works can usually be summed as 'a trainwreck, but a fun one', and GC doesn't disappoint on both fronts.
'Uchouten Kazoku' - magical realism set in modern-days Kyoto, starring a mysterious and beautiful witch, a family of excentric tanukis, and the group of people named after the seven lucky gods who want to eat them.
Also, 'Love Lab' is surprisingly good, almost like a 'Kareshi kanojo no jijo' which would have kept the slapstick and throw away the drama.

Still gotta watch the last episode of railgun II and I put attack on titan on hold. watamote finished... yup pretty much it. The winter anime for what I seen on the Cartdriver site does not appeal to me at all. I guess this is a first where I am skipping a whole anime season.

So, now that the new anime has begun, let's talk about which new series everyone here is watching So far, what I have my eyes on : * Log Horizon : Your regular "the protagonists are caught in a fantasy MMORPG"-show, but it has a cute female chibi-ninja, so I have to watch it. It's pretty average, with some neat ideas - like the fact that our protagonists now 'inhabit' their game avatar so we see them relearning how to interact with this new world, like managing an avatar which is much bigger than your real body, or fighting. I'm waiting to see if a deeper theme (like finding a goal to live for after finding yourself lost in a new world ?) will appear or not. * Galilei Donna : Umetsu's first TV series since Mezzo, and the first anime he has been directing for years now since Kite Liberator, and so far... I don't really know what to think about. It's pretty and well-animated, you have mechanized flying goldfishes (with missiles), a mystery (about the three sisters) and maybe an hint of adventure. It seems to be much less hardboiled than Umetsu previous outings. With only one episode aired so far I'm still waiting to where this show will take us; big sister is awesome, though. * Kill La Kill : Probably the show everyone will be watching this season and Imaishi's new TV series since Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. It's nicely retro, in an 'unabashed feeling of old shows's sexyness and violence' way; seems like a mix of 80s shounen series for the hot-blooded students battles, Go Nagai (Harenchi Gakuen) for the salacious comedy and ultra-violence, and a bit of Utena for the powerful yet mysterious student council which is opposed by our tranfert-student, female protagonist... if the series really plan to span 2 cour though, I do hope we will see a story twist really soon : I don't see the succession of battles lasting for some 24+ episodes. * Kyousougiga : Toei Animation has a long tradition of forming brillant directors, and Rie Matsumoto, whose work you may already know from the Precure franchise, may be the next big one. While the ONA did a great job at obfuscating its backstory, the TV series seems to be much more clearer on what is going on. So far Kyousougiga is really interesting in the way it mixes motifs from Alice in Wonderland and traditionnal japanese legends, the direction (colors, composition...) is lovely... High probability of being this season's sleeper hit. Summaries are taken from ANN.

Kill la Kill, thanks to a gif of Mako being insane. I really didn't know anything about the show, only what that gif offered, so I didn't expect the badassery at all.
