So yeah, I tried as hard as possible to resist but that Wind Waker HD bundle was just too damn sexy to pass up. So I've now had the system for a couple of weeks and so far it's pretty cool. I know not many people have one, but there are a lot who may be interested in it so let me know any of you would like to know about the system/games.

Congrats on getting the Wii U bundle, but I do believe that this thread is suppose to go to the games forum in the Everything Else section. This games forum is for setting up online matches.

She's asking how long it took to download the latest update, the most recent one came without warning last month. Btw, check out the Nintendo Direct too. That Super Mario 3D World trailer will blow your mind to hell.

You are correct, I've moved the thread. I've got a question about the WiiU. Do you have any experience with using DLC codes? Does it work similarly to the PS3? I'm curious because I'm planning to get a WiiU at some point, but I want the pre-order bonus for Sonic Lost World, which Sega has heavily implied will be pre-order exclusive. Do the codes have an expiration date? Or would I be able to hold onto the game/DLC code until I pick up a WiiU?

I think about an hour give or take, but how much of that is the system and how much of that is my awful internet however is anyone's guess. Downloads always take a huge amount of time at my house, regardless of system. I'd assume they would just give you the code and then you'd enter that in to the e-shop which would bring up the download option. FYI, the downloading on this system is pretty awesome. The system automatically goes to downloading stuff in the background, you can play/do whatever you want without it slowing down the downloading, and you can download while the system is off. But anyways, if you're a sonic fan and you're worried about the code, I'd just say try to pick up a system as soon as possible.

I still gotta pay mine off from walmart. I should have it around late oct or early nov. Also how is the gamepad's screen clarity/resolution? any difference besides the smaller screen? game quality doesnt degrade when playing on gamepad or such differences?

Sometimes I think the gamepad's screen looks better than my TV, but keep in mind I'm playing on an SD TV. Although I'd say the screen is better than my 3DS screen. When you're using the off-TV play there really isn't any difference as long as you stay within a certain range of the actual console. Like my Wii U is hooked up in my bedroom but I can play in the living room (which is on the other side of the bedroom wall) with zero issues. It will probably vary from house to house though.

Oh that is nice to know. Hmm well I have an Samsung HD TV that supports up to 720p so I guess it won't make much of a difference. Yea and I kinda figured the gamepad video quality wouldnt degrade instead of playing on TV. Also since I got the deluxe ver. Do you think NintendoLand will hold me off until watch_dogs releases? Comes out Nov 19 and I really don't know much about it(nintyland) besides being a theme park with mini games.

I don't know, haven't played Nintendo Land since it didn't come with my bundle and I have no intention of buying it. I'd suggest picking up some of the games that are already out. NSMBU is actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It finally feels like they're trying to push the envelope and out do the older games instead of just imitating them, which is nice. I've played the demo of Wonderful 101 and that game is downright strange, but strange it that awesome kind of way. It straight up Kamiya, over the top in every aspect. I also know a lot of people like Pikmin. Of course if you REALLY want a game that's gonna last a long time then nothing can beat Monster Hunter.

Have you run into HDD space issues?
My PS3 years ago came with a 20GB and I had to replace it with a 500GB and I have already filled up a good 300GB of that with games, demos, videos, songs and game installs.
I think Wii U comes with 32 GB so pretty sure day one of owning a Wii U have to switch it out for a 500 GB one (assuming that is easy to do like PS3 was).

Yeah, my PS3 ate harddrive space too, but so far I haven't had an issue. I still have well over half my space and that's with 2.5 gigs worth of demos, some games, AND the downloads that came with my bundle (Wind Waker and the Hyrule Historia book which together are over 2 gigs). One of the advantages of the WiiU over the PS3 in regards to storage space is that the PS3 required installs for pretty much every single game, the WiiU doesn't. Also, the VC games on the WiiU take up WAY less space than those on the PS3. Most SNES games only take up about 20-25 MB so they don't cause much issue. Then there are just the standard apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Vid which can work with Nintendo TV if you have them. That being said, you know your downloading habits more than I do and that'd be your call of what you'd need. If you're someone who downloads anything and everything they can to every device then you're obviously going to run out of space. Personally I don't see the point in downloading lots of music and videos to a console (on this one you can't anyways so no big deal). The good thing is that if you want to increase your storage space then you have options. It can use external HDDs as well flash drives so you can shop around and get whatever size would be ideal for you.
