My guess is Wii U be like 3DS then with minimal game installs, but if you download games (like I will be doing with SKB on my 3DS) then have to look for expansion options.
I really don't get why Nintendo went with 32GB as memory has come down so much barely any difference to just have even 160GB instead.

Who knows what they were thinking. There has to be some sort of catch.

Who knows what they were thinking. There has to be some sort of catch. In general with technology the gaps in pricing are much greater with newer iterations. They tend to slope down and then bottom off. Right now 500GB is the standard with 1TB being a big step and 2TB being quite significant in cost. The only thing I can imagine is Nintendo either A) Did not think vast majority of Wii U owners need more than 32GB or B) landed a huge deal to buy out a ton of 32GB hard drives. I do have to remember my habits tend to be an outlier. Boggles my mind to see attach rates of consoles and look at my own library.

I do have to remember my habits tend to be an outlier. Boggles my mind to see attach rates of consoles and look at my own library. The WiiU doesn't have a hard drive. It's using flash memory, so that's why. Keep in mind that there is a pretty broad range for how much space people will use. You have people who can fill up a TB without fail but then you have people who will literally only need memory for game saves and the occasional patch. My guess is that they wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. Sure, they could have put something like a 100 gigs in which would have taken the price up a bit, but then you have people who are not going to need that much space still paying for it AND you have the other extreme with people who would need WAY more than 100 gigs and yet THEY are still paying for that space too and will also have to pay out of pocket for more memory down the road anyways. By keeping the memory at a (relatively) low number and allowing the user to supplement the memory however they wish they're able to accommodate a broader range of people. Any one who needs more can grab whatever they want. That way people who use very little memory aren't paying for way more than they need AND people who need tons don't have to pay extra for memory that wouldn't be enough anyways. At least that's how I look at it.

Fair enough, but much like the Vita cost of memory does effect how I calculate value for the system. I think it will be a solid system in time, but right now knowing I'd need an external HDD need it to come down a bit more.
The other factor being getting Smash (Mario, MegaMan, Sonic, oh my!) fix for a while on my 3DS helps me not go crazy not having a Wii U just yet as well.

I hear ya, although I doubt you'll be seeing the price lowered again any time soon outside of black friday deals since they just lowered the price. At least they're not bending you over with outrageously priced memory cards like the Vita. I had severe doubts about the system, especially after E3, but now that I have actually played on one and had it for a while I think it's a pretty solid system, especially for only its first year. I think third parties putting out gimped versions of their games though is pretty F'd up, but if Nintendo can just get Capcom and maybe SE on board then I'll be set.

Black Friday and this holiday should definitely boost sales for the Wii U and PS Vita....While also probably getting overshadowed by the PS4.

This should probably be going in a different thread but: what game do you think will really be the PS4's killer app? I ask because Sony's 1st parties haven't been actual bestsellers outside of the likes of Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted 2. Shadowfall and Second Son seem to be only re-treads of the series on PS3 and not a lot of people seem interested in Knack. DriveClub would seem unlikely also, but that's because I myself don't see the appeal in racing sims.

For japan it will be FF if they can have that out near the launch window and for US, nothing. most people will buy PS4 on potential. because because x box outside of the US seems like a wasted investment and Wiiu is to old. It's on Sony to mess this up. P24 is in the same place as 3DS was. 3ds had a weak launch but you knew it was going to get 3rd party support no question from japan.

The thing is though, the 3DS was in the same situation the Wii U is in right now. That's also because Japan has better relations with Nintendo as opposed to the west. The PS4 however is pretty much set to get 3rd party support from whatever region, as Sony seems to have garnered better expectations as far as what they've promised with the PS4. The whole actual "launch" aspect won't be brought to light until November actually comes. And that's when all that big talk actually needs to mean something for a change, for all of the big 3.
