Dissidia NT open beta starts on friday, does not require PS+
they better make Rinoa playable. the VIII stage in NT is basd on the VIII ending, and it has no relation to anyone other than Squall and Rinoa.
plus RInoa is a part of the FFVIII logo, making her playable in Dissidia is long overdue

Here. I'm honestly no where near finishing Bon Apetit, I think I finished two arcade modes and nothing else. As for Estival, I'm on Day 5, so I still have a bit to go. On an unrelated note, I see you like Iowa. Bon Appetit I finished up on to the point of having done all of the stories, and having done all the skill-based trophies. I'm actually considering doing Estival Versus again now that I have a PS4 and I heard there's a Dutch version, with Dutch descriptions on the back cover (and that, any Dutch person would know, cannot be anything but gold). Hmmm, not a fan in particular. I like Kantai Collection, liked the anime, love the fanbase and its endless fanart, but don't have the dedication to play the game in Japanese. This is just an avatar/signature set my wife made for me a while ago.

I would be fine with trying to finish Bon Apetit, but it's rather difficult. I use a third party PS3 controller on my PC, and have Bon Apetit on Steam. The problem is it seems to register my controller as an XBOX controller of all things.
So I'm playing the game with X, O, Square, and Triangle... yet the game displays inputs as X, Y, B, and A. An actual nightmare.
Ah I see. Iowa is all right. I'm a fairly big fan of KanColle, and I do actually play the game in Japanese, have for a few years. One of the best parts of the game is the fact that you can actually marry one (or more) of the girls. I married Atago in-game.

I played it on the PSTV, and did one or two of the skill-based trophies with my wife doing half of the buttons (sharing a PS3 controller). Supposedly ps4 controllers work natively with steam though! How's your Japanese? Or do you use Google translate in the game? I've given up all hope of playing the game... We've got quite a collection of KanColle figures though

I just recently bought a PSTV myself, been binge-playing Freedom Wars on the thing since Christmas. It's part of why I'm considering buying the games again, since as fine as the PC releases are, the controller is that much of a pain for me. DLC though... Sadly PS4 controllers are a bit out of my price range. At least all the ones I've seen. Even if it means making life more convenient I'd still rather use that money on actual games.
As for KanColle, well my Japanese is fairly basic. I've been self studying for a while but I have a bad attention span most days so needless to say I didn't become fluent, barely on the verge of graduating a Japanese elementary school... Despite me trying to learn the language, it actually doesn't help much at all in KanColle, since it likes to use a lot of Kanji that are too complex, so I can't read like anything. I don't use translators either. I have been playing since 2015, and honestly I more or less just memorized what every button does. Though I do read stuff written by other English speaking players to get a grasp of some stats or mechanics that aren't as easy to take advantage of by just pushing the buttons in the correct order.
Nice, I have some figures myself. Only two though. Fubuki and Maya Kai Ni. I desperately want a figure of Atago though, since I, y'know, married her.

I personally do prefer to play the PSTV with my PS3 controllers, but if you want bang for buck, and you're also a PC gamer, then it's a great investment. For a little extra there's also a USB stick for the PC that allows you to use it wirelessly with Steam as well. I've dabbled in 3rd party controllers for the PC for a while as well, but that was just a pain... It's an investment I'd consider worth it, as the games that you already have will probably be more enjoyable (if your experience with 3rd party controllers is similar to mine, which is frustrating). I'm self-studying as well, only started very recently so I just got the katakana and hiragana down, and starting to get into learning the first few kanji and some radicals, but it's more of an issue of finding the right time to do it than anything else (this post, for example, I am writing in my self-created little break during work time). I can't imagine playing a game in a language I can't understand though... It always just reminds me of playing Zelda on the NES as a kid (mind you, I'm not that old, we were just retro before it was cool to be retro; the true hipsters xD), which was horrible, as my English was non-existent. Mario was a better companion at that time (although I just LOVED that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game...), but I digress... Oh! That calls for pictures! I wouldn't be able to identify the characters in my collection without looking at the boxes again though... omnimegami I assume that as a Final Fantasy fan it must be great. The only contact I've had with FF is via Kingdom Hearts, which led me to try it out as Cloud but ugh... The maps seem too large and you so easily smash them miles away from you, with a super slow dash to go after them again... The rest was just not interesting enough to me to even try to get used to the weird non-optional lock-on system (if I want to lock on someone, I'll click a button, but sometimes I can navigate the field well enough myself without being guided by (I wanted to say invisible, but they're not) clearly visible blue lines...

I know this is coming out of nowhere, and I don't mean to break the pace everyone's discussion, but after playing Dragon Ball FighterZ I really want Arc System Works to make a Senran Kagura fighting game. It doesn't have to be a team based fighter, I'd personally love it to play like Guilty Gear, but oooooooohh how much I want them to do the series some justice in the genre. They better leave that DLC nonsense they're doing with Cross Tag Battle out though. Gimme Hanzo, Crimson Squad with Kiriya, Hanzo, Daidoji and Rin and I'm set, of course they have to add Yumi because she's the shinning star in Japan.
Also I'm playing the Dissidia Open Beta a lot with friends, it's a fun distraction.

I've been saying that for ages! Even before they absolutely fucking mastered the anime look in Guilty Gear, I thought it'd be great. But glad to know someone else thought of that! Can someone with Twitter ask Takaki about this? Oh, and come on. A Senran game with no DLC bollocks? I know we have our wishes, but you know better than that.

Senran Kagura is pretty easy grounds to build an arcade fighter off of. I've kind of been hoping they'd make one as well, especially given how I've recently gained an interest in them with getting Central Fiction, Ultimax, and Under Night. Homura is also already in some crossover fighting game, so they've already put one step into that market.

But that was a Nitro+ licensed crossover game (which is awesome, because well Nitro+) that was published by Marvelous, so they easily could fix that as an extra. I'm sure ASW's rates will be a little higher as well... But... You know... We can always dream...

playing games that dont require PS+ like Fortnite battle royale and APB reloaded while waiting for Dynasty Warriors 9. its great the UNPCs are gonna be playable as DLC, I think they can be purchased without season pass, so that saves money for those that dont care about the extra weapons and extra furniture. the extra DLC characters even get their own unique story scenarios added! plus with free mode, makes them playable in all eras and raises the selection to 94 playables!! its so great western version comes with Chinese voiceovers (first time ever that localized DW comes with Chinese VAs!) gonna always choose that option!! www.gamecity.com.tw/smusou8/?lang=twwww.gamecity.com.tw/smusou8/gallery_movie.html#anchor_actionmovie
