I agree. You and Augen now have the ability to edit the calendar too.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was directed here. How does the kama and custom tag system work? If you need 25 and people can take away Karma for anything how would you go about getting to 25? can someone not just keep taking away to keep yout from reaching the goal? Should the option to take karma away be disabled for this?
I thought the thanks or agree system was the most popular one used online now.

Guess what I've found while fishing in the hollowed corpse of the old boards. I'll just keep it here for safe keeping.

There's a limit to how often the same user can boost/detract from someone's karma. So one person should not be able to purposely prevent someone else from achieving the goal of getting to 25. However, if you notice that your karma has been fluctuating oddly or you believe someone is needlessly and excessively reducing your karma, inform me and I'll look into it. Guess what I've found while fishing in the hollowed corpse of the old boards. I'll just keep it here for safe keeping. Nice find! It gives users another option of a banner to use.

Oh I did not know there was a prevention system it sound like one of those Heal and Hurt things where you vote and take away votes as many times as you want.

I cannot conceive of such a thing happening, but I guess there are odd balls out there. Personally I would discuss a matter before resorting to smiting someone.

This is in defense of the recent karma making avatar size larger.
Some feel 40 and 60 are too high. We set the number at this level to make it a goal or perk. If it was set at 10 and 20 everyone would have larger avatars and question would be why bother with karma system.
The idea of the karma system is to encourage quality posting. These little rewards do not punish anyone, why we simply went up in size from our current base. The matter as always is open for discussion, just surprised anyone would take this news as anything but a nice bonus.

These little rewards do not punish anyone, why we simply went up in size from our current base. The matter as always is open for discussion, just surprised anyone would take this news as anything but a nice bonus. The problem is the system links one person enjoyment of the board the way they want to others so in the end its not an enjoyable experience. Example: someone complained the board did not have enough personal customizable features to there licking now if you add a new one and then they can't use it unless others give them karma then that effects there enjoyment of the board on there end and how they want to do things. As for posting if does nothing to add quality post. there are people with many quality post and little karma why is this? It just promotes butt kissing and thats not really helping anyone. If you are going to add this feature its best to use the levels that way those that put in the work and are active members will get rewarded regardless of anything thats the only fare way to do it. This would promote people to be more active and not worry about having to please other people so they can focus on there area where they are good at in helping the cause.

So, you would rather there never be an option for anyone than any sort of reward system?
This is a pretty minor perk to be frank. It is not like we made it so you have to earn an avatar, just a minor tweak in size becomes optional.
No system is perfect. I have been on sites that go solely by post count and it made people post like mad with little content while occasional but quality posters missed out.
If enough people do feel this change makes the forum less enjoyable the mods and admin will discuss the matter.

I think its not too bad.
It is a tad steep, I don't know if anyone will get that high anytime soon. Another forum I was at did it on a post basis, where 1000 posts got you a bigger avatar.

The karma system is also an additional incentive to participate in the Community Missions. It is imperative that people keep in mind that the primary purpose of our group is to work for the localization of the games. Ideally every member should participate in the Community Missions and so far we have not gotten close to that.
As Augen said, there are flaws to any system. Even if members are not utilizing the karma system to its fullest extent, participation in the Community Missions yield a considerable amount.
