I've been wondering since I first saw her: WHY does Murakumo hide her face? She obviously doesn't want people to see her, but she's so cute! Does het backstory ever reveal why she's so shy about just her face and not... the rest of her?

So... When she met Yomi, is possible that Yomi persuaded Murakumo to stop using the mask even when on the job? |

Now this I can answer: {Spoiler} Simply Murakumo is shy and scared to show her face blushing and going high pitch fast talking when she has it off. In the hanzou story every time she is beat her mask comes off and she hides her face by putting her hands over it, If I remember right in the final battle Ikaruga persuades her to take off her mask or show her face. In the death cram story she takes her mask off against yomi at the very end of the fight as old friends I believe yomi says she doesn't know why she is scared to show her face. In the final battle with Ikaruga she takes her mask as she has gained confidence to which Ikaruga gives some kind of positive response. In Homura story Yomi tells her not to hide her face so much or something along those lines. In murakumo's separate story shiki steals her mask, she then fights before finding Shiki and defeating her, shiki says something about you shouldn't where that mask and hide your pretty face and that's why she stole it, to which this image is then presented.  |

I heard that Ikaruga recognized her from a dinner party where she fell and embarrassed herself. I assumed that prompted her to wear the mask but Ikaruga said she had it on at the party, so the true cause must've been before that. :/ |
