GAME CONCEPT
Senran Kagura New Wave is a mobile browser game available on mobage and GREE. The two games are almost identical on both systems although some cards in the GREE version tend to get more censored by not showing panty shots and showing less cleavage.
Both the mobage and GREE version can be played in any region, however for the GREE version you will require a Japanese VPN in order to get past the services region lock. It should also be noted that mobage does not accept a non-Japanese credit card whereas GREE does, but this is only an issue if you wish to buy in game items.
How to play Mobage: Version: senran-international.boards.net/thread/426/playing-senran-kagura-wave-mobage
How to play GREE Version: senran-international.boards.net/thread/352/playing-senran-kagura-wave-gree
The game can be played on the computer by use of a mobile add-on.
The way new wave works is there a number of cards with images of the characters on, the user is allowed to put 5 cards in their deck. The overall power of their deck is limited but increases as you, Log in a certain number of times, you level up by completing missions and doing battles or by adding people to your friends list.
Each card has a given rarity. The higher the rarity of the card the harder it is to obtain and the more powerful the card will be. The rarity of the cards is divided into “Normal”, “Rare”, “Super Rare” and “Ultra Rare”.
The cards are also given a colour this being red or blue which can be see behind the text stating its rarity. The red colour cards are referred to as yin cards and the blue cards are referred as yang cards, yang cards tend to be slightly more powerful but have less health.
A yin and yang card can be awakened, which means they are merged together to give a plus equivalent of their original rarity, cards are therefore released in a set of three this being a yin card, a yang card and the awakened card.
Yin and yang cards can be awakened when their limit has reached max. You can tell if a card has reached max by the green bar often shown below the card or next to it on stat screens.
Cards only increase their limit by doing battles with other card decks, once this has happened the two cards can then be awakened. If the two cards are from the same set you will know what card you will receive from the awakening, however if you choose two cards from different sets, then it will be 50-50 which of the two awakened cards you get.
The awakened card will be given a plus next to its rarity as it is more powerful than the original two cards before, however the power of the awakened card is still nowhere near as powerful as a card of a higher rarity. As such the power of cards is like this:
Card Standard Power
.
UR+ > UR >> SR+ > SR >> R+ > R >> N+ > N
Because of this it is better to aim for cards with higher rarity.
Cards also have levels which reach max at level 100. By increasing the level of your card you increase the amount of damage a card give and receive. A cards level can increase either by completing story missions, destroying normal cards from your collection or by using scrolls which can be obtained sometimes if you log in.
MISSIONS
In missions the leader of the party is used to fight waves of enemies until a certain progression is reached. As you fight enemies, items and cards will randomly drop. There are four different cards obtainable in each mission.
Once you reach the required progression you can then choose to start the next mission or replay the same mission to collect cards that did not drop.
You progress through the mission by tapping the screen to make your leader attack the enemy. As you progress your stamina meter which will decrease (a yellow bar), when it reaches zero you will no longer be able to progress. In order to replenish your stamina you will have to either wait an hour or use sushi which are given as log in bonuses or can be bought.
There are also two other options available while in a mission, the left option allows you to leave the mission and save stamina. The right option will use all your stamina in one go where you will progress by how much the stamina would of cost, it is worth noting that no stamina will be saved if you would of meet the required progression before running out of stamina.
Once you have completed 3 missions you will have a boss battle, which is similar to a normal battle however only the lead card is used in the battle.
The outcome of the battle will depend on the power of your leader card this includes its rarity and level.
Once you defeat the boss you will move to another stage which will have slightly higher difficulty enemies and a more difficult boss. This trend will keep continuing as you complete each stage.
BATTLES
Battles involve your deck facing another deck. On the battle page your current level, deck power and number of wins is displayed at the top. The number of battle points (BP) you currently have can also be seen. Below this you are given a list of 5 decks which you can choose to face. Their stats will also be shown. If you do not wish to face any of these 5 then there is a button at the top of the page that will refresh your results.
Select the deck you wish to battle and you will be given another screen to confirm your choice. If one of your + cards has reached limit break you will be given another option below to use it, this will result in a stat change to your deck or the opposing deck in your favor.
The battle is performed automatically. You can skip the sequence by pressing the screen. The outcome in basic terms is determined by the power of your deck, the number of cards in your deck, the rarity of the cards.
If you win the battle the limit of non-awakened cards will increase. Awaken cards will also increase in their current limit (if it not at max), this is the limit which can be used in battle by choosing the second option before the battle. It is located in the same places as non-awakened cards. However the bar is now yellow. This is also the case for your 2 spectator cards, two cards which do not take part in the battle but still gain the same limit boost. Spectator cards can be chosen in the in the deck organisation menu.
Each time you do a battle you will use up battle points (BP). You are given are allowed a maximum of 3 at one time, you will use one point per battle. When you use up your 3 battle points you will either have to wait 1 hour to regain a single battle point or use milk bottles which are given as log in bonuses or can be bought.
EVENTS
There are two types of events, mission events and battle events. Events usually last about 2 weeks where players compete for the most points. People at the top of the leader board will obtain a special event card. You can also get other event cards by reaching a certain number of points or paying for one. Event cards offer a multiplier bonus towards the amount of points you earn. You can tell how much by the little multiplier in the bottom right of the cards image. Events are accessible by the one of the promo images usually located above the 4 gold squares. Underneath the promo image it will show you your current number of points and rank. Click the second line of text takes you to the rewards list.
In the rewards list the first section shows what cards you can earn after earning a certain number of points, the second section shows what cards you can earn by coming a certain place, the third option shows what you and your team will get by coming a certain place. (Note: The last two options swap if the event is focused around teams)
Mission Events
Mission Events are very similar to normal missions you will have to progress against normal enimes by pressing the screen, however the required progression is much shorted often only being one enemy, at this point you will challenged by a boss, you can fight the boss for free or skip the battle at expense of 20% of your stamina. In this boss battle your entire deck battles.
If you lose the battle then you can continue the battle but you will have to use ability points (AP). These work very similar to battle points (BP) in that you have 3 and it replenish by one each however, however there is one major difference you have the option of how many you use in one go. Using one gives you the same amount of power as you had the first free go, using 2 gives you 3x times the power and using 3 gives you 5x the power. +Cards limit break can also be used by click the tick box that will appear above the fight button (only available in some events). This means it is important to judge what will be required to beat the enemy using as few AP points as possible.
If you run out of AP you will either have to wait 1 hour to regain a single ability point or use milk bottles which are given as log in bonuses or can be bought. (Note: that if you do not battle with the enemy again within a certain time frame, you will be forced out of the battle, where you will have to fight them again from scratch, because of this waiting for AP is not really option during battles).
After beating the boss you will be given points along with prizes should you reach the required amount of points (all prizes are sent to your BOX). You will then keep repeating the process. After a certain progression at random you will enter fever mode, where the bosses will be much harder but will give more points.
As you progress you will collect special coins unique to the specific event which can be used in the third section of the scout gache section. There are three options where you can spend 1, 20 or 200 coins in one go. If you spend 200 you are guaranteed a super rare card and if you spend 20 you are guaranteed at least a rare card. Due to the power of super rare cards it is recommended trying to save coins to spend 200 in one go in order to get a super rare card.
Battle Events
Battle events are very similar to normal battles. The major difference with event battles is that you earn a multiplier bonus for a win streak as long as your gaps between battles are within the time limit, otherwise your multiplier bonus will end. Event battles replace normal battles so you can also accesses event battles the same way you would for normal battles.
You also earn special battle tickets which can be cashed in on the event page. You can choose to spend 1 or 10 tickets in one go. When you cash a ticket you will gain a few normal cards and one or two rare cards. The quality of the cards is better if 10 tickets are used. Tickets will not carry over so need to be used before the event ends.

PLAYER PROFILE
In the game other users can add you as friends, accepting friends will increase your stats including the overall power limit of your deck, meaning your deck can have more higher rarity cards at the same time.
How to request friend
How to accept friend request:
You should see in your notification list at the bottom of the home page. It will say how many friend notifications you have.
By clicking that notification you then see the players who have sent you friend requests with 2 options beside the player's stats. Click on the TOP option to accept friend until there's no button to press. That should accept the player to your friend list.
TEAMS
Making a team is simple if you understand Japanese a little (and if you cant just join one), if you have just started or are not already in a team you should see a click-able text at the top of your "my page" Screen.
From this link you can either search for a team or make your own.
探 is the kanji your looking for if you want to search
作 is the kanji if you want to make a team
Search gives you options such as the teams level and what kind of team you are looking for. Be careful because some teams require certain things, this isn't part of the process but many teams only want players that use money. If you choose to make a team (which is difficult if you do not know Japanese) you will have to decide: Team name, Team purpose, Team description and Leader control.
The name and comment parts are obvious but the other two are a little more complex. For purpose you must select one from the options, is your team about fun and talking? or is it about hardcore event battleing? Leader control sets how people join, can people be accepted into your team instantly or would you like to vet them before they enter. Being the leader of a team means you are locked in that team unless you kick out all the other members and close the team.
Setting up a team is not really worth the effort if Japanese is the problem, if your new and want a good team then just search for one, the game will also recommend ones to you.
To join a team simply click ask to join and if its an automatic entry team then your in! If its a leader needs to vet team then just wait to be accepted.
The benefits of being in a team are. Together you can help to defeat raid bosses, if multiple players attack multiple times then you gain a chain bonus that can make short work of those crazy strong bosses. The more team members = the more cost points you have for your own team. Your team of five ninjas is strictly governed by how much cost you have, therefore being in a big team means you can put your best girls out.
Once in a team you can spend your Ninja points to strengthen the team, leveling up the team will increase the number of team members once again allowing your team cost to rise.
If you would like to join a friends team click the top right option (the draw), which brings up some options. Choose the one with the blue and yellow person shaking hands with a love heart. This will show all your friends in your friends list. Click the friend whose part of the team you want to join, then click the name of the team there are in, you will then be given the option to request to join the team (most likely the top button, it will ask you if are you sure).
When in a team, if you click the team’s name you are given a few options. You can post comments on the team wall for other members to see, check the profile of other members in the team, level up the team which means the team can have more members, view the team’s stats or choose to leave the team.
