There are toys because they sell, regardless of how much respect they have for the movie, they do like money. I have a lot of faith in this movie due to Gareth's understanding of what Godzilla is about. Thing about the secrets and surprises, is that we're used to a Godzilla movie being about a kaiju battle of some sort, and so on. Its just what we know. So it wasnt a huge secret. Oh don't get me wrong im excited I just don't see them getting away from Godzilla 98 the way they are selling this movie, it's just like how 98 was sold then and that turned out to be stupid. My fear is the fighting I hate when they film too close are at dark or anything that can make for bad visuals because of setting. Question should I watch pacific rim before this? I have not seen it because of what I heard about bad filmed fighting. Well they've openly said they dont want it to be like '98. Toho themselves hated that one and tried to ignore it, even made fun of it in one of the movies, and they really like this one. So I think its safe to say it'll satisfy. But yeah, fights in the dark can be a MAJOR pain cause dark characters against a dark background make it difficult to make out details. As for Pacific Rim, if you like kaiju stuff, do it. Absolutely. I -love- that movie. Its a bit cheesy, the plot is nothing amazing, its just exactly what it was intended to be: fun. As for the fights, it really depends. Watch it in a dark room if you can, because like two fights are in dark settings which makes it a bit difficult to make out details. Otherwise there's usually lights from cities and such to provide enough illumination. Overall, you can still definitely enjoy the movie.

Ok I will watch it so at least I can have a reference point in giant monster movie because transformers is not doing it. Funny enough the new movie I want to see because of mark wahlberg. That seems like the stupid movie he should be in and bring some down to earth for the character because those kids were not doing if for the other movies. I doubt he will be running and screaming thats already a huge plus in my book in terms of character. That's good to hear the the toho company is on board.... for now lol.

Yeah Transformers movies kinda suck if you ask me, and definitely arent giant monster movies. They're just action movies with childhood characters. If you need a good reference point, you need to watch a few good movies from Godzilla or Gamera. Pacific Rim is a good start too, but hey, whatever you're up to trying.

Please don't talk about Transformers. Though i will most likely see the new one cause of Wahlberg.
Anyways I'm hoping that Godzilla's theme shows up in the movie in some kind of form. XP

They already released the main theme, but now that you mention it, if theres no remix of the original theme I'd be a little butthurt.

It would be awesome to hear a new version of it but it wouldn't be a dealer breaker for me just sadness. XD

Why are they releasing so much stuff? Do you know how much this movie cost?

Why are they releasing so much stuff? Do you know how much this movie cost? Build hype for 2h 16min movie, and the budget is 150 million.

Well I saw Pacific rim and god that movie is so stupid before the title card even appears. To lazy to use spoilers I will just say the fighting was better then I expected and had a since of realism too it.
I really hate the robots and the two team system. If they make another movie I want them to be more sleek and one person only.
At least Godzilla seems to have a more serious tone. I feel pacific rim would have been so much better with a more real darker tone to it. I mean it is the end of the world. it's like the movie was made for kids.
Lol it had the Godzilla 98 tone to it even down to the last minute science.

And I feel like the dark end of the world thing is a tad overdone, but it really comes down to tastes.

Makes me wonder how will Godzilla fight flying monsters and not look stupid since this movie will have a serious tone to it. Oh thanks for the movie recommendation I enjoyed it.

Not like running wise, but in terms of close quarters like punches and slashes. So for anything within range, grab it, tear its wings off even. If at a distance, good ol' atomic breath that poor thing into oblivion.

Of topic- I hade Godzilla destroy all monsters on game cube and I loved that gane and that was also recommended too me by someone. Orga would not be a bad pick for the movie.

I still have & love that game. There may be a new Godzilla game in relevance to the movie. I especially hope so... It could either be really good, or absolutely terrible. And its already confirmed, no old monsters except Godzilla.
