Today is the day of reckoning. I see Godzilla at 9:55 PM EST. I am hype incarnate. Hopefully I'll have someone here to nerdgasm about the movie with when I get back.

I heard it was boring and the director shows no good fight scenes. This is bad. People already say pacific rim is better because it has fighting and cool monsters. Heard it's 98 level bad. Not bad just boring. Can't believe people are now saying PR is better. I will still watch it to be the judge. Tell me how it was when you get back.

I wont go into spoilers but I loved the movie so much. They dont show Godzilla too often, but thats to make you CRAVE it. So when he does something, you hype super hard. If you go in expecting a Michael Bay movie, you'll be disappointed. If you go in for a rad story, you wont be. There was more talking than usual, but its really not a bother. 98 is an atrocity and this movie was absolutely nowhere near that, anyone who thinks its on the level of 98 is crazy. People saying Pacific Rim is better are probably those who just want to see everything explode. It really depends what you want. Sadly, most people prefer to just see lots of explosions. I am not one of those. I loved the new Godzilla, and its right up there amongst my top 3 Godzilla movies, if not my new favorite.

I mean if there is little fighting then what is the point. Seems like from the reviews I read critics like it because it's artsy but cloverfield already did that. Is this more like cloverfield?

I loved Pacific Rim, but a movie like this doesnt need a lot of fighting for me to enjoy it. To be fair, its a reboot of the original, even uses Dr Serizawa. The original didnt have a single fight. Its all about the story. Wouldnt go so far as to say artsy though. And yeah it kinda has a little bit of a Cloverfield vibe. But only a really tiny bit.

Its not perfect, and GMK is probably still my favorite Godzilla movie, but its a fun movie nonetheless, and was absolutely worth it.

As someone with a deep Godzilla obsession, and having watched every movie,
I was straight up noodlin' in my seat when I heard the news.

I kinda guess this and that it may be like team based like Godzilla and mothra vs ghidoh and rodan. My take away from the last movie was they can convey more emotions if they had more monster s like the old movies did. They don't need much talking or humans just moments.

I should call you Poogzilla. XP I actually do use that as a spin-off of Poog, so go for it. = w= b I'm not a fan of double posting but its been 2 months so... My take away from the last movie was they can convey more emotions if they had more monster s like the old movies did. They don't need much talking or humans just moments. I think they had the balance right. Just need the military character to more interesting. Y'know, the standard formula. Military division of characters, science division of them, and then the monster division. Science was strong this time, but Ford in the military group wasnt so great. As for the team up thing, it might be sort of like a Destroy All Monsters thing. In the past DAM, Ghidorah was the big bad, Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and others fought Ghidorah. It could be that again, since the director said before Goji 2014 released that he'd love to do a DAM type Godzilla movie.

I think they said they were trying to get them in, rather than a confirmation, weren't they? I just hope the next one has more monster time, regardless of who's in it.
