I know people want to be postive but come on. SK2 is usless taka said EV will Build on the good parts and now who knows how good it will look and play. why buy new 3ss just for an old out datex game? marvelous did this don't get mad at me or what I said. I don't even know what you're trying to say here. Likewise, the New 3DS is what Nintendo is going to be pushing from now on - making more and more exclusive games for it is probably going to be the plan, especially if it's meant to be the next handheld, or at least the bridge between the next one and the 3DS. In any case, you're the one saying what you're saying, not Marvelous. just to prove my point more people post in EV thread s now then SK2 when SK2 is out now. even defenders stopped posting and they are talking EV. That proves nothing. Now that it's out, I'm avoiding all topics related to it because I don't want to deal with spoilers. People are going to start talking about this by the time the peeps here in NA and EU get SK2, which will take a while. For the time being, most of everyone's attention is towards EV. Exactly. Add in the fact that EV will be region free and you've got another reason to be more excited.

That was me.
Whether or not the N3DS is a match for the PS4 (not even the same market) or the Vita is irrelevant to the point I was making, and that is that the New 3DS could very well mean new Nintendo SK titles. For crying out loud, the thing can handle Xenoblade just fine supposedly. That's a decent jump.

Seventh does have a point. With the larger CPU power the N3DS has, more stuff can be put into 3DS SK games. So, the 3DS isn't done yet when it comes to SK.

Interesting, wonder if the three portable games underperforming points to issues on a market/corporative level. Shame they didn't went in depth on the report like they were with the Sega one, I'd loved to know more about it.

Well, Marvelous is also only just the publisher here, right? I don't want to say "it's just a coincidence," but I think why SK2 didn't do so hot has been talked about pretty in depth - Forbidden Magna was stuck in development hell for forever if I remember right and then just kind of revived out of nowhere and came out (so hype probably wasn't very high - it didn't have much push at all if I remember right), and the other one had even less outside of the anime (unless I'm confusing it having one with something else). Plenty of games released in this timeframe have done so-so too, so it could just speak to decline in other factors; interest in these kinds of games on 3DS, one coming out on two systems rather than one, stuff like that. I don't think we can know for sure, though.

Yeah seeing all the numbers it does seem that gaming in general is on decline (unless you're part of some incredibly strong brand). At the end we lack the necessary elements to have a clear picture of this situation.
At least we could have a better grasp on the situation when SK2 is released here in the west.
EDIT: Over other forum I frequent someone looked at the report and gave the cliff notes of it:
Isn't as bad all things considered.

with marvelous it seems this was a classic case of counting money they did not make yet.
we have a brand why advertise we have diehards so even at the baseline sales higher price = profit we are the only action series on the hardware. and so on and so on.
I guess they release the game when they did to copy what movie studios call counter programing.
Basicly you are a G movie we are an R movie so are markets are not the same but it has been proven a number of times this does not hold up if the adults like the G rated movie. I hope they did not think like hollywood.

The thing is, again, Marvelous is only the publisher here. I'm fairly certain all three of those games have different developers - I know at least two do.

With "here", you're talking about America? Because the way I understand the info on the report Marvelous funded the three games, therefore making irrelevant who actually developed them.

Looking around I found Dengeki's numbers for SK2 and, have to say, is quite the interesting read
04./00. [3DS] Senran Kagura 2: Crimson (Marvelous) {2014.08.07} - 47.294 / NEW <40%> 10./04. [3DS] Senran Kagura 2: Crimson (Marvelous) {2014.08.07} - 11.639 / 58.933 (-75%) 21./10. [3DS] Senran Kagura 2: Crimson (Marvelous) {2014.08.07} - 2.767 / 61.700 (-76%) 29./21. [3DS] Senran Kagura 2: Crimson (Marvelous) {2014.08.07} - 3.456 / 65.156 (+25%)
65k copies sold aren't bad at all.

It isnt at all. People are freaked out too much about it. 45k sold in the first week is more than every neptunia game if you want to compare games with similar niches.
Problem was that made them lose money on it was that it heavily undersold expectations and it probably cost the most out of all the games to make looking at it. I wonder if they were hoping for at least burst numbers week 1.
