I was thinking about picking this up from Amazon since it's got an official translation and a nice price and was wondering how good everyone thinks it is, especially compared to the Games/Anime? Also what does it cover, is it the same basic story as the anime/Burst?

The art isn't flawless, but it has its nice, own distinct style and its kinda cute. Its a pretty great read, and identical to the anime, though with a quick sort of filler mini chapter. Compared to the anime, well, that depends on whether or not you prefer manga or anime adaptations. Can't really compare it to the games though.

Ah I see, sounds interesting! I do generally prefer anime but official English manga are few and far between and I love the series so I think I'll get it anyway. Glad to know the art is nice too. Thanks for the feedback!
Edit: Also if you/anyone else don't mind I'm curious about the other two manga, are they also good? I'll have to read them online which I don't enjoy as much and I'll check them out even if they aren't great but they look interesting too!

Spark is the best of the three in my eyes. It takes place when Ikaruga and Katusragi were first years and is really insightful.

Yeah that one did indeed look very interesting just from the cover and the fact it covers stuff the game/anime didn't really. I'll check it out second I think.

Skirting Shadows is good, but as Fox said, Spark is godlike. Followed by the Hebijo one, which I think was caled Guren No Hebi.

Taking advantage of the topic, what happened to this series?
It was cancelled, fell into an eternal hiatus, Takaki and the artist got in a fight or what? They only released two volumes before vanishing from the face of earth.

The fact that tweet was from January, nothing else has been posted about it since, and Skirting Shadows being missing from the magazine's page doesn't fill me with confidence.
Why Seven Seas didn't pick Guren no Hebi instead?

Yeah, let's hope it shows on the page for the next update (far as I can tell, the magazine's page is advertising November's issue)

And out of nowhere it (apparently) came back from the dead www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOBK-1747011I doubt there will be a fourth volume so I hope they manage to give it a satisfactory conclusion on the remaining chapters.

I'm just gonna be desperately hoping for a Katsuragi cover.
