So no Hibari cover ever? Excellent. I mean, the bad side of the news it the final volume will take like a million years but no Hibari.

Hello to all!
I was offered the whole manga series today by my video game / anime and manga store and it´s good to hear that the manga series could be worth of it´s money.
Anyway I was still wondering should I get the series or maybe look for something else? In the end the store also said them could order me other books or art stuff or whatever I want so I was wondering what I really should do. So my question literally is, the manga series or would a few other books be a better option?

The manga is a good read but it doesn't expands a lot on the basic story presented in Burst (is basically a 1:1 adaptation) so it mostly depends on how much of a series fan you are. If is possible though, I'd suggest you to get the Senran Kagura Official Design Works book published by Udon last year. Is a compilation of art and has some pretty interesting info regarding the series and interviews with both Takaki and Nan.

Thanks a lot for an answer. Looks like I have more thinking to do as mostly I really love artbooks or fact books and them has also more value if you plan to collect more on future. Your answer was really helpful and now it is just about me what I get .

The first volumes of the manga followed the story of Burst and the anime very well. The art is decent and the series itself is actually very modest considering the nature of the series. The cover of Vol.3 is by far the most risqué thing about it.
However, the final volume is very lackluster in terms of execution. No giant yoma battle, no Dogen summoning, very little revelation in terms of the Hebijo girls, and a very anti-climactic ending. It just kind of...trails off. So keep that in mind.
+ Art is solid + Modest presentation + Easy to collect - Story feels rushed - Fails to capture the action and feel of the anime or game - Poor Ending
Score: 6/10

Finished Vol 1,2 & 3 of Skirting Shadows today and thoroughly enjoyed reading them, which for me to say is VERY Rare as I am not a heavy reader, and after Vol 3 I was like "That was good, if only there were more Volumes for me to read" I mean could have done 2 more then at least you get the entire Hanzo Group on the front covers ehhh I too would have liked a Hibari Cover my guess it would have been a Pink background lol.
