If you know good tutorials it would be awesome! XD
I already know some tricks here and there, but I still don't know if I should enter this kind of thing...

Please do. We're a community, and its all in good fun. I'm not expecting you guys to be perfect right off the bat, and I plan to link plenty of tutorials for the first SOTM if we can get a good turnout. I've got some good ones and I'll link some inspiration threads so you guys can have examples of what a gorgeous signature looks like. Dont worry about it. Have fun, enter, expand your ways of art!

I'm still reluctant.
This is not my first forum ever. I actualy visit forums for more than 10 years. Not that every single forum in the internet is a 4chan full of trolls, but as the "rules of the internet" say: "Anonymous can be a horible, senseless, uncaring monster". I saw lots of people who actualy are like that, those were some very bad experiences. People saying shit about your hard work is always something quite demotivational.

But you could always use the "sucks to be you" card.....maybe?

It didn't worked for me at the time.
Nowdays I'm more the type that says "Go fuck yourself" and never speak to the person again even if it is from the family or friends and if I do talk to the person again it will be like years after the person said shit about my work. I have a personal hate of people who treat the hard work of others like shit, specially and obviously when they do that type of thing to me.
Anyway, enough ranting and let's comeback to the topic subject: I look forward to that project. I'm going to see what kind of works we are going to see around here.

So, TheAtom, Ayanami, TSG, potentially vitz.
And Vitz, you need to understand one thing about artwork. Sometimes people WILL look down on your work, but honestly its for the best that they do so you can improve. However, there is a fine line between being a douche about it, and being a critique. If anyone crosses the line, thats what I and other staff members are around for~

[Vitz!], I have to admit, Poog is right. Without the critique from him and MrDak3000, I probably wouldn't have put as much effort in my drawings.
And for those who do cross the line, perhaps it's better to ignore them rather than my earlier clueless suggestion.
But hey, what do I know?

I'm not talking about critiques here. I'm talking only about douches.
I though you would be able to tell the difference.
I had also good critics in my life, but they were few.

Darn. Why am I never useful in these situations?

Sometimes a good critic is the harshest. As my super old school teacher who's a very successful artist says, "if you dont walk out of it crying, it wasn't a good critique." While I still personally feel thats overkill, I understand what he's getting at.

I do understand him, but overkilling isn't effective with everyone.
Just like medicine. Medicine doesn't work with everybody and some will even have collateral effects they use them.
I'm the kind of person that will be so upset with the overkill that not only this will ruin my relationship with the person and I will get really down to the point of nearly stop what I do and start questioning if I really should even give it another try since I feel like shit and also feel that I lost time doing that in the first place (and that's what a overkill critique does to a person).
I think that, if you want to be harsh, at least have good points and be respectful to the work the person put on. If you do overkill you can be the first one but certainly not the last.
For me truly good critics know how to choose their words in a way that doesn't makes things worse for the artist. Specially if the person is just as negative as I am. Knowing who you are criticizing is crutial for a good critique for me.

I completely understand Vitz on this one, to be honest. It's shitty when you put a lot of work into something and people destroy it, saying it's garbage or whatnot. Good/harsh criticism is fine, but that does mean it should be pointed out clearly WHAT is wrong with it (and not just: that's garbage, disgusting bullshit or whatever), and the level of the artist should also be taken into consideration. You're not going to go nuts on a thee year old because he's not quite Rembrandt yet... But the thing is, many people on the internet ARE like that. Some people are very experienced, and go off on a beginner (or less advanced) artist for not knowing the stuff they do... I mean, I've experienced it, and I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I've had my confidence crushed many times regarding sports and several types of arts, and I've crushed some people's confidence along the way as well... I thought it was good to be harsh for a person that just started writing a style of poetry pretty closely to mine, to show that it's "actually pretty tough to do!" Person never wrote anything like that anymore, and never shared any other work with me anymore afterwards. Still regret that tbh. At the same time, I don't have the feeling that is going to happen here, but if Vitz is uncomfortable joining us for the first round because of this, I understand. Let's hope we can get some other people to join up, and then he can maybe see how the first time goes. Then on the basis of that perhaps he can join the next time. Although seeing that we're not booming with numbers just yet, I would appreciate every person out there to join.

Well, in all honesty, not a lot of the artists here seem super experienced in gfx. On top of that, we're not competing for anything beyond the fun of it. If anyone is worried about competition getting super harsh or whatever, I highly doubt that'll happen.

I am so ready to lose. Ahem, I mean rank last in a biased/fair conflict of competition.
