It would depend on the pricing. If it's full priced ($30-40), but only the first game? I'd have to think about it. I'd probably end up getting it, just to support further localization efforts (the second half of Burst, and Shinovi VS), but I'd be a bit unhappy with it overall. If it was priced a bit cheaper ($20), I'd still jump at it in a heartbeat.

It has been nearly six months since Burst released so to go back to previous game seems odd.

only main diffrence is battle system and general movement of your character if you are not that deep into this part of the game then its a waste of time but if you do get into this eary its something to check out since alot of the girls in the old game played better before the system changed in Burst. Now all the old girls seem to have lost that special thing they had that made them cool and all the hebi girls are just way more intresting.
If you can get it might as well bargin bin it. But I heard the price for the original game went up and the price for Burst dropped so thats something.
Original game is now a rare thing I guess since they don't make it anymore.

Trying to be devil's advocate here but publishing 'Burst' would incur more expansive translation costs, QA, etc as it would mean translating two games. But yeah it would be marginal costs, anyway.
I wonder if the Shinovi Versus game wouldn't be a logical candidate for translation : less games so less competition for mindshare, a more 'niche' audience, and graphicaly a more enticing experience than the 3DS games. You probably don't have to bother with Nintendo potentialy being reluctant to see this type of games landing in the west, too.
But frankly, I would buy any SK game that is published in english.

I feel it'd kind of be stupid and pointless to only release the Burst version of the first game instead of translating and releasing both halves. If it's text translations only, then it's not like it'd cost that much more to publish the entire game as it was made as opposed to splitting it. It would take more time, yes but it's not like we haven't been or will be waiting for a localization for a while anyway, what's a couple extra months to that so we can get the full experience? So no, I would not buy just 1/2 of Burst because it makes no sense to do so when the whole thing can be taken care of.
