I just realized something. If Senran Kagura is going to be mainly on the 3DS, while spin offs will be on other handhelds and stuff, does that make Senran Kagura the new Kingdom Hearts?

Depends if they stay true to that statement. They said that before SV sales.

Don't see this game lasting on the 3DS too long really. They may release one more game but if the sales are not there they will be gone. Vita they have always can count on DLC sales no matter how the next game sales so they dlc will cover the loses.
I can see them making the next Vita game with Vita.TV in mind.

I wonder how out of the question a multi platform game would be.

Wasn't Takaki-san interested in a WiiU SK game? ... I want that.
Also SV benefited from the success of it's predecesors. You can tell that at the very least the budget was bigger. Also the anime and the Vita price drop boosted sales.

The Vita has the community for these games now so I can't see them doing better anywhere else really.

Something tells me the spin offs will come out mainly on the PS Vita due to a lot of people in Japan having it.

I still think timing was a big factor with SV. Price drop + anime around the same time frame helped SV by quite a bit. If we go by numbers alone, SK can continue on both handhelds, you cannot just ignore the 3DS install base. And yes, WiiU's doing pretty bad right now, I agree. Frankly I don't see the series leaving handhelds anytime soon, if ever. Also if Senran Kagura goes KH I hope it doesn't mean we'll get convoluted storylines and time travelling shenanigans.

Not really because alot of Vita owners was wondering why did the first games come out on the 3DS when the producer has a history of making alot of PSP games. But I guess 3DS was the system of choice at the time. So that fan base was always interested It was just a matter of win the games would make the jump. No one thought it would ever be it's own game and better most thought theey would port the game with better framerate and other stuff. They really did go all out for the game. The price drop and anime was just icing on the cake of something they knew at least they could get was 3DS numbers. Its good to note that the game and the limited edition both cost more then then Burst, so they already figured all they have to do is burst numbers and they make profit and this is not counting DLC of the game as well as DLC in game. Money wise they planned well but story and series wise they kinda screwed up expectations now for future work.

But I guess 3DS was the system of choice at the time. Remember the concept of SK was about seeing boobs in 3D. Are you saying they might continue the series with the ps vita due to profit? Yes, but it should be noted that the first game wasn't meant to be that special and did not have that big a budget, and since burst was forced to run of the same programming/software it had to carry that on, VITA was from scratch so all new software making it easier to improve areas. Burst wasn't the peak of the 3DS it was just the peak going of the portrait of young girls original budget.
