(Those three screenshots are actually from the PV.) Are they actually scrolls? I don't think they look like scrolls. I mean, what are those ball things by the sides? Perhaps they're items that you can use, some sort of ninja tool they can pull out and use a couple of times perhaps. I believe, like in Burst, the yellow bar is the Secret Move bar. In Burst you attack enemies and a (blue) bar increases, when it fills to a point you're able to use one of your special attacks. As you level up the maximum you can fill up is 4 bars. (One of your special attacks require 2 bars so that's why the max is 4) This is frame by frame. After Asuka's attack and the enemies are damaged you can see that the yellow bar increases. So what are the things below? Bonus Shiki nude just covered by a bat

Ah, there we go. It sure looks like a ninja scrolls tied using a band with round bells/balls. The scrolls are their most valuable belonging as a SK ninja. They are pretty much useless without them. The yellow bar is pretty much a Musou Bar, use to activate Hiden Ninpou. I can't see the use besides that.

They do mention that scrolls are important to ninjas but in the previous games there's practically no visual indication of them anywhere bar menus. Level difficulty is indicated by shuriken/throwing stars. The HP, secret move and clothes durability gauges are all simple bars. But now that you mention it, it does look like a scroll with a string with balls wrapped around it. I wonder what they're for then. If the yellow bar is indeed the secret move gauge then will it be possible to only perform one, then you have to fill the bar up again? That's not like it was in Burst and will be quite annoying imo.

I bet the yellow gauge is the clothing gauge, remember Takaki said in an interview that the reason the girls have clothes on is that it's a illusion jutsu and if they get hit enough or by a powerful attack they lose that focus and their clothes. Lose more of the bar and lose one layer of clothing, lose 2 and the girl will be in her underwear, lose all of it or be hit by a strong enough attack and she'll lose all of it and be nude and covering.
Ninpo gauge are the scrolls

Thanks, TwinTails, now I can imagine a boss battle with Yumi.
"ITS NO USE!! TAKE THIS!!"
Well since this is a musou-type game, it most likely doesn't use up a whole bar, but does require it to be filled. Most likely situation is a special attack will only take up a portion of the bar, and if they implement it, holding down the button will make it last longer, but drain the whole bar.

Awesome comparison, except for Asuka and Sonic. Can't put them together at all.

I haven't read it fully yet but according to the blog, Shinovi Versus is slowly entering the final stages of development. I hope we see some more pics and videos soon. Edit: More on the blog. They're slowly getting each character's moves fine tuned and the graphics sorted out. Each day as they're developing new gameplay ideas are put forth. The time just before a game is about to go on sale is the hardest when developing, but it's the most fun because interesting changes suddenly pop up. Yesterday's edition of Famitsu, Asuka and co from Hanzou ranked 17th in the expectations list (dunno what this is, game or character?) The image of Asuka and Yumi that flashed by at the end of the PV also appeared in the magazine. This illustration is going to be for the cover of the regular edition of the game. Edit 2: I found this, seems to be the cover of the game Today there're a few more announcements. Regarding the buttocks mousepad competition. Yomi came first and Yaegashi (I think is his name) the illustrator has already drawn a rough. (Goes on to talk about New Wave) Finally, Figuarts ZERO Asuka Another Colour is having a popularity contest, Asuka has been coming to play in the MAQL offices so we took a bunch of shots with some clothes removed. (Just her skirt. And I'm not sure I'm getting that translated right.) (bunch of pictures) How's that! Vote for the one you want! www.tamashii.jp/event/42/Well then, have a good weekend! (Text says 'New giant breasts appear!')

Hope they don't bring that horrible Burst frame rate to Shinovi VS. They should really work on it. Maybe like simplifying the grunt models since they are going to be a lot of them *points at the screenshot above.*. Anyone with keen eyes saw any gameplay lags and such in the trailer? ;D ;D

Zorogou, is there a bigger image of the boxart? I randomly came across that on 2ch, there might be one but I haven't found it. Best bet is to wait for AmazonJP to upload a version, they usually upload really high resolution images for products for some reason. Hope they don't bring that horrible Burst frame rate to Shinovi VS. They should really work on it. Maybe like simplifying the grunt models since they are going to be a lot of them *points at the screenshot above.*. Anyone with keen eyes saw any gameplay lags and such in the trailer? ;D ;D The framerate wasn't that bad was it? I didn't see any slow down nor come across anything that hindered gameplay but for one bug, and that spawned an enemy in a location I couldn't possibly get to. I don't think they need to simplify character models, they're probably already trying to optimise them, doesn't the VITA have some pretty good specs? But I don't know how well a game like this/Musou games fare on this system. Finally, the game is a work in progress, we can't start bashing it for slowdowns when it's not even completed. If it's finished and has crazy issues like Code of Princess, then I'd start complaining.
