Isn't SV a separate canon?
I mean. Like another universe.
For me Burst is the start of the whole story, but the Hanzo side becomes SK2 and the Hebijo side becomes SV.

" these are the good ninjas these are the bad" the hebi was not playable but fans asked because they had such strong personality plus the game was a hit so they follow with burst that changes the ending of the first game so now the series can be sequalized.

Nah, all the descriptions say SV plays right after Burst (which doesn't make sense after SK2 came up, but let's say it plays right after whatever game finishes that storyline). I do remember someone from the SK team saying the 3ds games are the main storyline, which seems to support your suggestion, but on the other hand, advertising SV by placing it in the same storyline as Burst makes that whole statement odd, and perhaps he meant for the 3DS games to just be the focus, story-wise.

There is no main storyline, apparently two. I dont get those that call SV a spinoff when it seems to have its own thing. Bon Appetit fits the definition of a spinoff. They address this apparently in EV where they talk about SK2's supposed ending.

For a story that was meant to be able to close in itself they sure let a lot of holes in it. Specially after Orochi appears. I don't think they REALLY wanted to make the first game as a stand alone considering this. They could even say that thing you said officially, but in the end they could be just lying. :v As for the storyline, you just said things that support what I say, TheAtom. And I think you guys didn't understand what I meant. The Burst game is like a common ancestor that makes both SK2 and SV storylines exist. I just separated from Hebijo side to Hanzo side because for me that would make a bit of sense. And I don't know if you guys saw the posts tzitzimine did in that regard. They are quite interesting and I think he should post something about that here too ( he will post spoilers if he does so).

Yeah, sure. SV and EV come from Burst. SK2 but as a different thing altogether. I think they'll continue on from EV, because I think multiple dimension and storyline stuff is stupid and they dug themselves in a hole with it.

I see no stupidity in multiple dimension and storyline. Specially in this case. Since, from what I've seen in this forum and in other places, most of the SV fandom has no interest in the 3DS games and the people who started from the 3DS fandom doesn't seem to have that much interest in the SV series (specially when talking about storyline), separating the canons doesn't seem like a bad idea for me. There is also some "science" in this. Ever heard of the fifth dimension?

I really do not think they're playing the multiple dimensions card here. I don't know about Bon Appetit, and I'm sure it is just a standalone spin-off, but I'm pretty sure, for now, the timeline is Burst --> Deep Crimson --> Shinovi Versus --> Estival Versus
And yes, I am familiar with the notion of other worlds, because of my study I have dabbled a bit into philosophy of quantum mechanics, and indeed, the most popular opinion seems to be that there are multiple dimensions. To properly incorporate such a notion into a game's story on the other hand, requires Blazblue types of stories, and I doubt SK's going to get into that (and I doubt anyone's interested in that either). I don't see any reason to overcomplicate things, really.

Keeping up two stories for I think no reason is a waste of both.

Using the fifth dimension to explain that problem between SK2 and SV avoids a major plot hole. Between the two games since... In the end of Senran Kagura 2, the Homura Group seems to be accepted again in the Hebijo. Something that tzitzimine said in the Deep Crimson topic. It is still far fetched to you now? There is also a post that has been lost in the EV topic in that regard where Sayuri (as Jasmine) say something to the Hebijo girls about that spoiler I put in there and their lives in the SV universe.

There's also a scene on Estival where the Mikagura sisters admited to have been traveled to another universe searching for a little girl able to defeat Youma, without a doubt an allusion to Kagura.
The fact they bothered to introduce the concpet of a multiverse and acknowledge SK2's events is signal that Takaki has something in mind (he also mentioned that SK2's story while self contained was part of something bigger) and I for one, I'm eager to see what is that.
Amusingly, this would imply that all the Versus' stories happened. So there's a world where the girls were butchered like cattle by Hebijo.

Basically. I think this whole dimension stuff is completely stupid and should not be played around with too much. It's like time travel. yuck. I think they were basically all and all trying to clean that stuff up. They probably didnt intend for the characters to become so popular. I hope all the games from now on just stay on one story and stay on one path because why waste characterization making multiverse games? It's dumb. If they referenced just Kagura and her being the only important one it might mean we might not have the possibility of a playable naraku or see her again cause she looks fun.

I wonder what they thought when SV sold the way it did initially. Did they not plan the characters there being popular?
