Hello everyone, and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Konpeki Umi (my pen name BTW) and I've joined this forum in hopes of expressing my newfound interest in the Senran Kagura series.
First, let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm an anime fan, gamer, writer, and an artist with a great interest in Japanese culture and hopes that one day will write my very own light novel in Japan. Currently I'm learning Japanese bit by bit so I can push further towards my goal and I try really hard to complete my college studies.
Now about Senran Kagura, I recently stumbled onto the series after seeing some images on various websites like DeviantArt that peaked my interest. I got curious so I decided to look it up and found that it was a series of action video games about shinobi anime girls. Then I looked at a couple of trailers and gameplay videos to see what the games are like. At first, I was a bit sour about the presence of fanservice in the games but I decided to not let that bother me and so, I made my first purchase. I bought the Double D edition of Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson for the 3DS and after completing the first chapter of the game, I was really impressed. The story is absolutely well written and the characters are all enjoyable with distinct and interesting personalities. I've played through the whole story mode and came to the conclusion that I really fell in love with this series. It's an example of games that you should never judge based on how it looks. Now I'm planning on getting a PS4 so I can get my hands on Estival Versus.
I'd say my favorite character in the series has to be Mirai, mainly because of her outfit, her outgoing personality, and her gameplay of miniguns and grenades which to me is like combination of the Heavy and the Demoman from Team Fortress 2 on steroids. Seriously, every time I gun down enemies with Mirai's minigun, I felt like shouting "Cry some more!" every single time. She's a really enjoyable character to me.
I have a DeviantArt account for those who are interested. Even though I haven't posted any art projects yet, the closest thing I have to art right now is my avatar on this forum and my DeviantArt page. I'll be uploading some art sometime in the future so look forward to it. ^^
